To want to know the outcome of some threads

I've read alot of threads, some funny and alot very sad.
I love it when a thread has an update, especially if it's a positive update; however there are lots of threads that don't have an ending and I'd love to know what the outcome was.
One of mine is the softzilla, I do wonder what's happened with that up to now?
Anyone else need updates?!!! Grin

They’ve pretty much all been trolls.

As for people saying that they deserve an update. What rubbish. if the posts are true (and let’s be honest the vast majority of those types of posts aren’t,) this is someone’s life we’re talking about. It’s possible they joined for advice, but they certainly don’t owe anyone anything.

And time is not an investment. As they say, never give more than you can afford to lose.

If people are resentful of the time they’re spending on here without getting something in return then perhaps they need to find an alternative way to spend their time.

MN is a chat forum, not a volunteering service.

Not asking for a blow by blow account, just a simple "Situation resolved, thank you" would be nice. I hardly ever post on MN but think it is only polite to acknowledge those who do especially posters who seem genuinely worried for the OP.

@PivotPivotPivottt OP updated yesterday- she is pregnant and a scan confirmed it!

I couldn’t find the thread, it was a lady from west wales who had an injury on her foot, had been to A&E and sent home, but the injection was spreading and everyone said you need to get to A&E now (she had other health problem), She said she was going, then I lost the thread and can’t find it. Anyone know of an update?

I think a lot of the long running multiple threads, scenarios probably do have a grain of truth in them , but the Op.gets carried away with all the attention.

She got admitted to hospital & was on IV antibiotics & then discharged on oral antibiotics, think it will be a slow recovery but being sorted

I also wonder about a 14-year-old poster who was heavily pregnant and had concealed her pregnancy. MNHQ locked the thread just as she was finally about to confide in her friend’s mum. I hope she managed to tell her friend’s mum and that she was supportive.

I often think / worry about the woman whose husband was abusive and on one occasion made her eat paper . A bit of me hoped that wasn’t true.

The threads I’m interested in updates on are the more low level ones.

I posted a lot on a non contact thread maybe two years ago and wonder if all the other ladies have moved on properly by now or not. Ditto the people on the dating thread when I used to post often there

What about the one recently where a woman in ? Sussex was having her doorbell ring at weird times of the night.

I think she took it down because of security fears but that one stuck with me.

About a year ago there was a poster called something like ‘overthehillandroundthecorner’. She was working up the courage to leave her strategically incompetent husband. The straw that broke the camel’s back was that he kept leaving his coffee cafetière on top of the dishwasher and never washed it up despite OP asking.

It was month and months of painstaking analysis of the relationship and handwringing. The unanimous advice was for the OP to LTB but she stopped posting because i think she probably ended up staying.

I was ridiculously over invested. Would love to know if she finally got rid of his useless arse.

Does anyone remember the thread about the rehoming if a cat?

OP was dying of cancer and very worried about what would happen to her pet cat. MN rallied around and someone volunteered to have her (from the other end of the country), OP and new cat owner drove and met half way and the exchange was made.

The new owner took over the thread, updating on how she was settling in and posting photos etc.

I loved that thread, and followed it 'live' it made such a difference getting positive updates after everyone had become so emotionally invested.

The one with the note in the hedge, where hundreds of posters chimed in to try to identify the language/letters of a folded note found in a hedge along with a 2p (??) coin. I hope it wasn't fake.

There was a thread where the child was concerned that her df had remarried very quickly and they were worried about inheritance. Mn shut it down as apparently both sides were posting and it was a bit of a bun fight. I did feel for the dc in this case but curious as to what was said.

In fact there was another fun “supernatural” one about a converted office and writing appearing on the wall.

I remember that one. It was an office in a converted mill in Essex I think.
Writing on the walls, doors flying open, things moving around by themselves. I was very interested in that thread and I was sorry when mumsnet took it down.

I often wonder about the woman who posted about her husband who was getting fraudulent prescriptions for himself in her name to get hold of medication which he was addicted to. I hope she is ok.
