Anyone else think that was possibly the smuggest walk into Downing Street ever?

Was I alone in praying she would trip up?

Used 149... well done for effectively reinstating the posts that MM deleted.

urbanlife · 25/07/2019 07:06

Love Priti Patel, she is both highly intelligent and very professional.

Suddenly all these anti women, racist remainers come out of the woodwork.
What a truly disgusting thread. I am reporting.

MaxNormal · 25/07/2019 07:10

Hi Priti Grin

PigeonofDoom · 25/07/2019 07:12

And what, urban, do you make of her lying whilst in office? Should we just let that slip because of her sex and ethnicity? BTW, I feel the same about Dominic Raab who is white and male.
Anyway, let’s see how well Patel treats other BME women now she’s in the home office. My guess is it won’t be with compassion and sympathy but I’d love to be surprised but I won’t

urbanlife · 25/07/2019 07:13

I am not laughing.

This thread isn’t funny at all. It’s astonishing the levels some people will sink yo because they are such bad losers.

What makes me worry for the country is not the brand new cabinet, but the bile of such sore losers choking themselves on indignation and anger.

Get over it.

jasjas1973 · 25/07/2019 07:17

urban

Folk are allowed (at the moment, value it) to express opinions on politicians they don't like or disagree with.

Calling her a cxxt is going too far imho.

I've reported your postings as being anti democratic lol!

falcon5 · 25/07/2019 07:18

Good grief. I voted leave. I regret it because of events since but I think John would seriously struggle to characterize me as left-wing. None of this in any way changes Priti Patel having been previously caught for lying and collusion with foreign governments. I'm not a fan. And neither are other party members I know.

PigeonofDoom · 25/07/2019 07:19

When you have deal with the shit that no deal will bring in your working life then you can’t get over it tbh, it’s bloody terrifying. Leavers will not know what’s hit them but they’ll blame anyone but themselves for the mess they’ve created. Which is what scares me. The country will go to shit in the event of no deal and the likes of Patel, raab and McVey will either up sticks and bugger off to the states or start flinging mud every which way, creating a dangerously toxic political environment. Easy entry for the far right.
But yeah, it’s this thread that’s scary Hmm Give your head a wobble and recognise what’s happening.

TheBigBallOfOil · 25/07/2019 07:23

I do agree that Priti Patel appears stupid and incompetent. I am a member of the Tory party, btw. However I also agree that right wing women do seem to bring out the worst on the misogynistic left, as Mrs Thatcher showed. Not that she cared. As Bernard Ingram observed, her great strength was that she didn’t care about being liked. Some people find that very hard to forgive in a woman, still.

QueenBeee · 25/07/2019 07:27

I agree. Here in Scotland there is still extreme bitterness over not winning the referendum. Thus we will probably have another, unless more SNP lose their seats.

urbanlife · 25/07/2019 07:30

Poor you pigeon living your life in a state of fear and bitterness.

You will see. The UK will be going onto great things. All the doom mongering is depressing and says more about your lack of confidence. I am sorry your lives are so small, that you can’t see beyond the confines of the EU. I’d go as far as to say you all sound institutionalised and brainwashed.

It is not acceptable to call anyone the offensive names Ms Patel has been called on here. It’s not free speech, is hate speech and I am calling you out on it.

urbanlife · 25/07/2019 07:33

falcon anyone truly voting leave will be delighted this morning with events. The biggest problem before was a remain backing PM and cabinet, not to mention the entire civil service pretty much.
If you feel despondent its because it is because we have wasted three years, that is the sign of a true Brexiteer.

TheBigBallOfOil · 25/07/2019 07:37

Urban’s frothing demonstrates the problem. Brexit is not a policy. It is an act of faith.
I prefer rationality to religion, thanks. But you can’t argue with people like this. They are in the grip of a cult.

PigeonofDoom · 25/07/2019 07:37

Keep telling yourself that urban, I’d love to live a life of blissful ignorance but I actually have to work for a living Hmm

falcon5 · 25/07/2019 07:37

And completely irrelevant to and not changing the point that reappointing someone to cabinet who has been removed previously for falsehod and poor conduct is off. I assume your purpose is to derail the conversation from that.

urbanlife · 25/07/2019 07:43

And you will continue to work for a living pigeon, and all the catastrophising really won’t change that.

MyFokMarelize · 25/07/2019 07:46

This thread isn’t funny at all. It’s astonishing the levels some people will sink yo because they are such bad losers

And there it is! Because everything people like you don't agree with can't be reasoned through with intelligent thought can it? No. Just hurl about that tired old trope about sore losers and remoaners. Do you realise that that is exactly what stupid people do?
There are leavers and remainers posting here - although for your edification that is NOT what the thread is about (HTH) - the issue we have is with the dishonesty, cronyism and incompetence of our new goverment and it's officials.
Please - try to think a little deeper than 'losers'

DippyAvocado · 25/07/2019 07:47

And now Gavin Williamson, sacked just recently for security breaches while defence secretary, is back in the cabinet as education secretary. I know BJ is a man of no morals, but part of me wonders if he actually doesn't want to be PM so has created the worst possible cabinet so that nobody votes Conservative if there is an election.

I am delighted with the cabinet. I have gave up the idea a long time ago that remainers will respect the vote, and get behind the country ( some have, most haven’t)
Instead they meddle with spite and try to drag everyone and everything down. Sad but true.

Tellmetruth4 · 25/07/2019 07:54

Wow the true beLeavers really do sound like a brainwashed cult! Not long before they’re holed up in a barn with a cache of guns. This is mind-blowingly scary.

urbanlife · 25/07/2019 07:56

Remainers: please feel free to move elsewhere if the new confident, truly independent UK isn’t for you.
The world is a big place, you can find a place like North Korea where referendums and votes are totally ignored.

You don’t HAVE to live in a democracy. We are reclaiming as of today our legitimacy. Whether you like it or not, we are leaving,

TheBigBallOfOil · 25/07/2019 07:56

I don’t think we can expect mr Johnson to be troubled by questions of personal ethics, can we?

TheBigBallOfOil · 25/07/2019 07:57

Urban, if you are genuine, suggest you watch the recent documentary about thatcher. That’s how determined right wing government gets done, and it requires a little bit more than blind faith.
