Anyone else think that was possibly the smuggest walk into Downing Street ever?

Was I alone in praying she would trip up?

Is she the person who suggested using the threat of food shortages to force the Irish government to capitulate over the backstop? This threat to a country that suffered a famine in the 1840s which resulted in hundreds of thousands starving to death and many hundreds of thousands more forced to emigrate.
The UK government is morally bankrupt.

Wavyheaded · 24/07/2019 19:23

Hate her. I'm Asian - we're not all like that, thank god!

She's just a typical tory - moneygrabbing, judgemental, hypocritical, status obsessed. Not my cup of tea at all.

MyFokMarelize · 24/07/2019 19:25

None of my Asian friends like her. Not a single one has a good word to say about her. I'm sure she wouldn't give a two-bit fuck about that either.

MintChocAddict · 24/07/2019 19:27

sunglasses I mean that a small number of old Tory duffers choosing Boris Johnson (sorry Alexander Johnson) as their new leader and his subsequent appointments of proven liars and incompetents could have catastrophic consequences for the future of the UK. I can't actually believe it's got this far and quite frankly the Tory party needs to take a good fucking look at itself.

We're in crisis and a loose cannon like BJ isn't by any stretch of the imagination the right person to sort anything out let alone the mess that is Brexit. As Trump said yesterday with such pride 'he' s Britain's Trump'
Holy fuck, if ever there was a need for common sense it's now.

She sounds ghastly. Poor us!!

Fibbke · 24/07/2019 19:27

What a vile and putrid thread.

Simonfromharlow · 24/07/2019 19:30

She's my MP. Horrible woman. No help unless you have a cause that makes her look good.

Wildorchidz · 24/07/2019 19:32

What a vile and putrid thread.

Yes. She certainly is.

MockerstheFeManist · 24/07/2019 19:32

Patel and McVey tend to support Margaret Macmillan's thesis that putting women in political charge has been shown repeatedly not to result in either kinder or gentler govt.

It's the very nature of the greasy pole that ensures the ones with the sharpest claws and fewest scruples scratch their way to the top.

Eh? Why should it? Women are just as multi faceted as men, you know? We're not demanding a cabinet of kittens and cupcakes.

MyFokMarelize · 24/07/2019 19:35

What a vile and putrid thread

Grin Grin Grin

Hmm
user1491678180 · 24/07/2019 19:39

@Wildorchidz

'Yeah she certainly is,' as a response to 'what a vile and putrid thread' makes NO sense.

The level of intelligence (of you and most other posters,) is clear.

Crack on with your vile hate and foul language and misogynistic bile... It's speaking volumes about you all.

MrsPatrickDempsey · 24/07/2019 19:42

She is my MP and her intervention resolved an ongoing problem we had with our employer. It's a bit of a long story which I won't bore you with but she got it sorted very quickly.

Oh come on @user1491678180, tell us some of Priti's better qualities!

My dislike of Priti Patel isn't misogynistic. It's based on her being a very very poor local MP. And I've known a few in my time (of both sexes and various parties). She is the worst.

Alsohuman · 24/07/2019 19:46

She’s an abomination. My only comfort is that I suspect she won’t be in the job long.

MyFokMarelize · 24/07/2019 19:54

I also despise Dominic Raab, Ian Duncan Smith, David Davis, Nigel Farage, Donald Trump and Liam Fox.

Am I guilty of misandry too? No. Of course not. Your misogny accusation is fucking ridiculous!

Livingtothefull · 24/07/2019 19:56

'She voted for the cutting of benefits for the disabled'

Just one more legitimate reason to find her loathsome.
