Was I alone in praying she would trip up?

Is she the person who suggested using the threat of food shortages to force the Irish government to capitulate over the backstop? This threat to a country that suffered a famine in the 1840s which resulted in hundreds of thousands starving to death and many hundreds of thousands more forced to emigrate.

Patel and McVey tend to support Margaret Macmillan's thesis that putting women in political charge has been shown repeatedly not to result in either kinder or gentler govt.

She is my MP and her intervention resolved an ongoing problem we had with our employer. It's a bit of a long story which I won't bore you with but she got it sorted very quickly.

My dislike of Priti Patel isn't misogynistic. It's based on her being a very very poor local MP. And I've known a few in my time (of both sexes and various parties). She is the worst.

She’s an abomination. My only comfort is that I suspect she won’t be in the job long.

I also despise Dominic Raab, Ian Duncan Smith, David Davis, Nigel Farage, Donald Trump and Liam Fox.
