Anyone else think that was possibly the smuggest walk into Downing Street ever?

Was I alone in praying she would trip up?

Fair enough for my post being deleted.

I shall rephrase by saying I despise Priti Patel's actions and words, most recently her suggestion that starving Ireland would be an acceptable way to get them to agree to her ideal of brexit. She is the worst person I can think of to have in post as Home Secretary.

MyFokMarelize · 24/07/2019 21:28

Yeah - I am also unsurprised but remarkably meh about my deletion! It's a fair cop! I'm not sorry though and I stand by what I said! But it's MN's playground so whatevs!

sunglasses123 · 24/07/2019 21:28

This is a really left wing thread where people are competing to be the nasiest. Good night! I will leave you all to it to agree with each other

HorridHenrysNits · 24/07/2019 21:29

I suppose the one small mercy here is that she isn't the foreign secretary.

HorridHenrysNits · 24/07/2019 21:32

Yes, clearly only left wing people object to members of our government concealing meetings with members of other governments. And suggesting that trying to starve our near neighbours into submission would be ok. Whereas everyone to the right of Diane Abbott is fine with all of this, and that's not at all offensive to actually sensible centrists and right wingers.

DippyAvocado · 24/07/2019 21:35

This is a really left wing thread where people are competing to be the nasiest.

I think Priti Patel would win that competition!

MintChocAddict · 24/07/2019 21:36

sunglasses

If it's left wing to fear an administration of proven liars, with a Home Secretary hell bent on hurting the poor, disabled and just about every other vulnerable group then call me left wing!

I believe that you're ultimately judged on how you treat your most vulnerable. It doesn't make me a rampant lefty or indeed Jeremy Corbyn.

While I will probably have sleepless nights over this whole shambles in the making, I will sleep with a clear conscience about my views on protecting others.

I hope you can too. Good night.

MyFokMarelize · 24/07/2019 21:42

I'm not especially left wing and I don't much care for Corbyn and his bunch of lunatics either. I care deeply about our politicians NOT leading us into some Trumpian dystopia where the sick, disabled, minorities and poor are fair game for a kicking because they don't measure up to the frankly Aryan ideals of our leaders. I do care a lot about that.
I am hurt and frustrated that neither of our two main political parties have any credibility and that if there were a General Election tomorrow there is zero chance of the opposition being elected. I am beyond pissed off that the Labour Party don't seem to understand that were it not for Jeremy fucking Corbyn they'd likely be either in power or on the edge of in power now.

MintChocAddict · 24/07/2019 21:46

Agreed myfok

As I said earlier, people really need to get angry. I fear we'll hit rock bottom before the fight back begins.

Completely agree with the people saying this is a vile, putrid, nasty thread, with some of the most awful misoginist, bigoted shit I have ever read on here.

I am pleased to see mumsnet have removed some really ugly posts (calling Priti a cnt and a b1tch and a thundercnt etc.) But I know for a FACT that if this was a thread started by someone right of centre (or right wing,) and it was slagging off someone left wing, it would have been zapped almost immediately.

Mumsnet has many pluses and advantages and good points, but it's obvious left-leaning position is not one of them. The lefties on here can say the nastiest shit about Tories/right wing people, and most of the threads and comments will stay.

I am disappointed in mumsnet for not deleting this thread, and absolutely DISGUSTED with many posters on here, who should be ashamed of themselves. There are some nasty, despicable posts on this thread. Plain and simple nasty.

Shame on you all.

Hiding this thread now. It's ugly and putrid.

Enjoy your vile ranting. Hope it makes you all feel better about your lives.

MintChocAddict · 24/07/2019 21:48

My conscience is clear user but thanks for your input

And the poor who voted for this mess (because voting leave was a vote for this) will become poorer. Read extracts from her book with Truss, Raab and Kwarteng- ‘Britannia Unchained’ to get a feel for what’s being planned. They have no time for the economically inactive. If you’re poor, they believe it’s your fault.

Lumene · 24/07/2019 21:49

Such as User ?

HorridHenrysNits · 24/07/2019 21:49

Hands up who couldn't give the slightest fuck if someone who feels moved to white knight for Priti fucking Patel and confuses their own opinions with facts is unhappy with them.

MyFokMarelize · 24/07/2019 21:49

Makes me feel great user because you are clearly in the rabid right wing minority here. That is one small blessing.

MintChocAddict · 24/07/2019 21:50

I can only presume that user is in the fortunate position of not having to live in fear.

MaxNormal · 24/07/2019 21:51

@user1491678180 oh boo hoo

Alsohuman · 24/07/2019 21:52

The irony of someone complaining about a vile, putrid, nasty thread about a vile, putrid nasty politician.

What, all women? Ever? Don’t know about you but I’m struggling to find good points to Imelda Marcos, but go wild.
