Anyone else think that was possibly the smuggest walk into Downing Street ever?

Was I alone in praying she would trip up?

I salute here and most of the others including BJ and Corbyn for taking on these jobs - they are not much fun and you get little thanks and a lot of abuse.

People seem to be very nasty about others who have different views from them these days.

Let us see who wins the next election.

(Vote Conservative)

Alsohuman · 26/07/2019 18:22

I’d sooner drink a bottle of bleach @Xenia.

escapade1234 · 26/07/2019 18:25

So easy to sit tapping bile on a keyboard - far harder to put yourself in the firing line and try to do something for your country.

You may not agree with everyone’s politics, but there’s no need for such incivility and abuse.

PerkingFaintly · 26/07/2019 18:30

Pretty easy to accidentally have ministerial meetings with Israeli officials without remembering to mention it to your boss at the Foreign Office, though.

Sort of thing that could happen to anyone.

Hmm
Alsohuman · 26/07/2019 18:34

And to wish starvation on the population of N Ireland, such a model of compassion.

bellinisurge · 26/07/2019 18:48

"You may not agree with everyone’s politics, but there’s no need for such incivility and abuse."
Strangely, I don't agree with using starvation as a negotiation tactic. Particularly against a country where we have actually done that before.
I think suggesting such a tactic deserves a "Fuck off you ignoramus". don't you?

Patroclus · 26/07/2019 18:53

Didnt take long.... when you have as much corruption in your background as that though I suppose this is what happens.

Alsohuman · 26/07/2019 19:01

That’s pretty bloody shocking. Their greed knows no bounds.

WarmSausageTea · 26/07/2019 19:06

I save my salutes for people who work to improve the lot of others, particularly those less well off, whether in a paid or voluntary capacity. That immediately rules out Johnson, Patel and their ilk. Oh, and I tend not to salute anti-Semites.

escapade1234 · 26/07/2019 19:17

I’m hoping she’ll be tough on crime though. All politicians (and indeed humans - maybe even Mumsnetters?) say stupid things sometimes. Looking forward to seeing her deal with knife crime and moped theft.

escapade1234 · 26/07/2019 19:17

Not theft of mopeds.

Alsohuman · 26/07/2019 19:20

Maybe she should be tough on her own crime.

Patroclus · 26/07/2019 19:29

Its weird, right wingers down even bother with the 'FAKE NEWSSSSSSSSSSS' shit anymore. They just accept that they're impressed by scumbags and look the the other way.

clearblueskye · 26/07/2019 19:57

Seeing Priti Patel walk up Downing Street made me wonder what on earth Johnson owes her for.

multivac · 26/07/2019 20:14

She's my fucking MP. I know how much she cares about the country. She makes my blood run cold, and I'm not joking.

DopeyDazy · 26/07/2019 22:08

watching Designated Survivor, an Asian female Prime Minister,

Alsohuman · 26/07/2019 22:12

And? Did she believe in the death penalty? And starving people into submission? And hold illicit, undercover meetings with other states?

areyoubeingserviced · 26/07/2019 22:17

I thought that I was the only one who dislikes this woman. She rubs me the wrong way

Schoolisback1973 · 26/07/2019 22:20

Can't bear her! she just lies everytime she opens her mouth! I thought it was me but she 'icks' me...
How has she resurfaced into the cabinet with such a pivotal role? beyond me.For the first time in years I have switched off the news since wednesday.I am so depressed and no longer wants to know what is going on in politics. I'll just go and vote at the general election.

areyoubeingserviced · 26/07/2019 22:23

@Schoolisback1973- I can’t watch the news either.

ssd · 27/07/2019 00:23

I can't watch the news either. It feels like a stupid game that's just been made real.

Flyingquestion · 27/07/2019 06:51

What is the point of telling people to vote Conservative Confused?

Flyingquestion · 27/07/2019 06:58

How has she resurfaced into the cabinet with such a pivotal role?

It’s not only her though - look at Gavin Williamson.

And the incompetence - Liz Truss and Dominic Raab for example - the latter Chancellor Shock. Johnson couldn’t give a shit how talented anyone might be, presumably because he is incapable of recognising wisdom and intelligence.

As for Dominic Cummings. Not to mentioned JRM.

The writing is on the wall. I pray that there is a backlash against these people, and that right thinking (nothing to do with being for or against remain) politicians with integrity, from across Parliament, unite against them.
