Hahahaha :)
Shakespeare was rather fond of a good swear word (he even invented a few....)

Iambuffy · 24/07/2019 19:55

....not that I'm comparing myself to the Bard of Avon, you understand? 😁

Wizzywoo18 · 24/07/2019 19:56

@PortiaCastis Priti Patel is a delight, isn't she?!

From The Times, 8th December 2018: 'Leaked British government papers have shown that Ireland will face shortages, particularly of perishable goods, and may take a a bigger economic hit than the UK from a no-deal Brexit.

Priti Patel, who was the UK’s international development secretary until she resigned from the cabinet last year, said this week that the threat should be used to force Ireland to drop its demands for the backstop agreed under Theresa May’s withdrawal deal.

“This paper appears to show the government were well aware Ireland will face significant issues in a no-deal scenario. Why hasn’t this point been pressed home during the negotiations? There is still time to go back to Brussels and get a better deal,” Ms Patel said.'

She brings me out in hives. Loathsome human being.

Sitting here at a pool party in france.I suggested that the UK now will reap what they sew but what about all those who came here many years ago and now dont know whether they will be able to stay, what will happen to their pensions, the exchange rates etc..These are real people whose lives will be turned upside down. Thanks Boris

Paintingtheroseswhite · 24/07/2019 19:58

JaneEB the EU are not horrified, mildly amused maybe? Perplexed? Definitely.

The EU are superb politicians and professional negotiators - the evidence of that is the number of trade deals they have in place which all favour the EU (60+ and more being worked on.

I for one am looking forward to watching the EU run rings around these witless wonders who are so convinced of their own superiority and abilities. Perhaps then the people who've caused this mess will have to take responsibility for what they have done rather than run away and blame everyone else.

As for "the person who can bring the country together", that would require some understanding on Johnson et al's part of how much they have damaged this country and ripped it apart. That understanding appears to be non existent.

"Believe in Britain" - I'm sorry, I don't

PortiaCastis · 24/07/2019 19:58

Oh Lord Wizzy. Agreed not a very nice person at all!

LaurieMarlow · 24/07/2019 20:01

the eu are horrified

Is that supposed to be a joke? Confused

Why would they be horrified?

I expect they’ll want Boris the Buffoon and the joke that is the UK out of their lives sharpish.

BeardedMum · 24/07/2019 20:02

I also look forward to the EU eating BJ and team alive. Anyone else think he does not look that confident lately or am I just dreaming that?

Ellyess · 24/07/2019 20:11

LadyBumclock

I am your fan!

You speak such truth and sense.

How glad I am to come here after reading the Gransnet Boris comments! Some made sense of course. Those that made the most sense are currently living abroad.....

None of them told the naked truth:

Yes, we are fucked!

PortiaCastis · 24/07/2019 20:12

I don't think the E.U. are horrified, I think they're probably amused however there are quite a few residents of France Germany and other E.U. Countries on the site that could inform us what the consensus of opinion is in their respective Countries, would be quite interesting to find out.

countrygirl99 · 24/07/2019 20:13

I bet that the people who say remainers should leave the country if they don't like Brexit are the same people who condemn Syrians refuge6 for not staying and fighting.

TuesdaySunshine · 24/07/2019 20:14

The skeletons are well out of his closet.

I'm sure he's got plenty more to come.

The80sweregreat · 24/07/2019 20:15

He looks like someone who finally got what he wanted ,but not sure how it all works.
His probably hoping someone will bail him out. I bet his big on ' brainstorming ' sessions. In order to pick others brains!

Graphista · 24/07/2019 20:16

Ated have you SERIOUSLY no understanding of exactly how ridiculous and totally unworkable a no deal brexit would be? I can also only assume you and your loved ones are all independently wealthy, and in excellent health? Are you the queen? Because unless that's true, you and yours would be just as screwed as every other ordinary uk citizen - where do you THINK all our supplies, energy and money come from?!

"You're not only fucking yourselves over, you'll bring the rest of the country down with you." Yep!

As for the new Fucking cabinet - so far - (if you don't like swearing mn really isn't that bloody place for you! We're adults, we swear it's not only allowed on mn it's even referenced in their promotional material! If it's upsetting you, you don't have to be on mn go elsewhere)

FCA - raab - on a surface level he has qualifications and experience suitable to the role, in reality he has displayed his ignorance and lack of knowledge on certain key issues on several occasions and he is far from respected outside the uk. In addition while "officially" not proven there's more than a few reasons to believe he's a misogybistic, xenophobic bully.

Chancellor - Sajid javid - ugh a Thatcherite (whatever his claims to the contrary) ex banker with many prejudices of his own who isn't above outright name calling

Home sec - priti Patel - fucking vile woman who is another Thatcherite recruited first by Lansley, she seemingly has no conscience in who she works for, called the entire country "idlers" and is outspokenly anti the welfare state, she's acted appallingly irresponsibly on several occasions including breaching ministerial rules and taking advantage of her position to directly benefit herself personally. An extreme right winger with some truly shocking opinions, inc suggesting the threat of another Irish famine to get capitulation on the backstop!

Defence sec - NONE because hunt is far too concerned with willy waving rather than SERVING THE COUNTRY which is his Fucking job!!

Bloody disaster all round!

derxa · 24/07/2019 20:16

Alsohuman · 24/07/2019 20:17

He’s picking the wrong cabinet for that!

CapybarasLoveCake · 24/07/2019 20:19

I suspect the EU are really disappointed with the latest news from the uk and so tired of all the Brexit mess and general fuck up.

I think they really want us to sort this out - ‘don’t waste this time’. But we’re not are we.

SistemaAddict · 24/07/2019 20:19

Can mumsnet remove all the swearing posters please.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 can you imagine?!

Darkcloudsandsunnydays fuckity fuck fuck fuck. Do tut off dear.

HelenaDove · 24/07/2019 20:20

Just seen Boris speech outside No 10 Basically a repeat of Theresas three years ago when she was focusing on working class home owners and people who rent werrnt even on the radar.

Im guessing he hasnt had time to speak to Mark Francois yet

ForalltheSaints · 24/07/2019 20:22

Pete Wishart (of the SNP, former member of Runrig) says this is the worst government since Mrs Thatcher.

Even her third term cabinet was nowhere near as bad as this.

As for the view from abroad, we are a laughing stock, except perhaps for right wing US Republicans. I have met two European Prime Ministers over the last six weeks, and deliberately avoided any mention of Brexit or UK politics (and spoke to each of them in their language, none of this expectation that they would both speak English).

TuesdaySunshine · 24/07/2019 20:22

Leaving aside his many horrendous ministerial appointments, I must say I think it's a huge strategic error to have acquired so many backbench enemies today.

Cinammoncake · 24/07/2019 20:23

Anyone else think he does not look that confident lately or am I just dreaming that?

I agree with this and have thought it too. Very different from in 2016 and in the mayoral campaign.

BeardedMum · 24/07/2019 20:24

The irony that so many of the people this new country despise put them there.

Cinammoncake · 24/07/2019 20:24

Leaving aside his many horrendous ministerial appointments, I must say I think it's a huge strategic error to have acquired so many backbench enemies today.

Yes. With such a tiny majority it seems very risky.

BeardedMum · 24/07/2019 20:24

New government not new country. Freudian slip must have been thinking what will be my new country to live in
