hopefully people will start to turn on him soon, very slowly at first and then very suddenly all at once ....that's how it goes isn't it?
I mean I think it's bankruptcy but it's probably the same!

PerkingFaintly · 21/08/2019 23:32

I was interested in Scaramucci's comments about "providing an off-ramp" for previously pro-Trump Republicans.

Because that's exactly what's needed.

Trump works by implicating people around him in smaller transgressions (or invented transgressions – didn't he say something to Comey like "Remember we had that thing", when the "thing" was Comey stolidly declining the bait?).

Once their fingers are caught in the machine, they're drawn inexorably in.

Too many metaphors in this post. But yes, Scaramucci is right that Republicans who ventured onto the approach ramp and shortly after found themselves on the Trump highway being dragged at ever--increasing speed, need a safe exit.

I may think poorly of them for ever venturing on it, but it's more important that they get off. Soon as.

Whosorrynow · 21/08/2019 23:41

it's crazy isn't it how these apparently intelligent people get their fingers caught in the machine by this dumb as a rock windbag 😳
I suppose they're blinded by the dazzling glare of ultimate power 😱😈

AcrossthePond55 · 22/08/2019 00:45

how long have we got before he starts to shit himself himself in public?

He already does. I believe the technical term for it is "Verbal Diarrhea".

Whosorrynow · 22/08/2019 00:48

😁😂🤣

Lweji · 22/08/2019 02:12

For all we know he already wears a nappy.

Meanwhile, I so wish this was true.

LordPro what is that link? I'm a bit wary of clicking it if I don't know the context!

Scaramucci was actually correct. People are scared to stand up to him, they know what they'll get if they do from Trump. A public lashing. So he's right when he says that those people need to get together and stand up to him en masse.

@realDonaldTrump
It was my honor to sign a Presidential Memorandum facilitating the cancellation of student loan debt for 25K of our most severely disabled Veterans. With today’s order, we express the everlasting love & loyalty of a truly grateful Nation. God bless our Vets, & God Bless America!

What he has omitted to mention in this tweet is... Obama did this first. The program has been around for years. But Trump rolled back the protections so he can now take credit for it.

This is his Modus Operandi.

It was a video on twitter by a reputable US psychologist stating the he is bonkers and lost the plot.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 22/08/2019 07:24

Does he ever swear? I was pondering his language (sounds like a small child).

Roussette · 22/08/2019 07:44

For all we know he already wears a nappy

He certainly wears some sort of corset which is why he always stand like this.

Considering he is a staunch supporter of brexit, what does that say about the whole sorry enterprise?

I think Europeans should troll him a bit and suggest California join the EU when we leave and he finally buys the UK with his cheapo trade deal.

I wanted to say a huge Thank you to all of you dedicated posters who keep this thread alive - I only dip in and out but the threads are bookmarked and I always read every post.

At the risk of outing myself, I actually work in the private health insurance industry ' I saw your (much) earlier post, Across asking for info on the system. I'll keep reading to see responses but more than happy to answer anything.

That said, that part of the thread was pre Jeffrey Epstein and the Greenland debacle so I imagine we've moved on somewhat!

Right - back to p9 Grin

PerkingFaintly · 22/08/2019 15:32

CakeBrew

Have been thinking of you and wondering how you were coping, SanFran. This is easier for those of us not in the US coping with our own floppy haired dolt.

SanFranBear · 22/08/2019 16:19

Thanks Perking but I'm a Brit.. my username relates to the bit in Inside Out when Anger notes he saw a lot of 'bears' in San Francisco Grin

Honestly though, it's hard to believe it has been two and a half years since Scrotus took office.. I hope this time next year, we're talking about how strong the Democratic candidate is. I worry though - at this point, it's looking likely to be Joe Biden and I just can't get behind him in case he creepily starts sniffing me . Probably just as well I don't have a vote!

Lweji · 22/08/2019 16:20

I agree that Joe Biden could be Hillary Part 2.

AcrossthePond55 · 22/08/2019 17:28

517 days until Inauguration Day 2021. I'm no longer counting until the election because we are not going to have a 'Lame Duck' period with Scrotus. In fact, it'll be the reverse. He and his GOP cronies are going to force through everything they can in the last months, when they needn't fear losing an election. He's already been in office 943 days (of hell).

Although DH says he was prattling on again yesterday about staying in office longer than the constitutionally allowed two terms. But that should be easy for the 'King of Israel' and 'The Chosen One', shouldn't it? Sorry Scrotus, I know you think you're the Second Coming but those two titles have already been taken by Someone Else. So, as we say: "You may think you're hot shit in a champagne glass, baby, but you ain't nothin' but cold diarrhea in a Dixie Cup".

Thanks SanFran. I thought you were here, too!! I think I've got the private vs NHS kinda figured out. It pays for when you don't want to use the NHS, right? So if someone wants to give birth in the Lindo Wing, they'd use private insurance to pay for it. We still have no idea what will happen here, but I think having the option is good. I'd have no problem paying my 'fair share' of taxes to fund a 'US NHS' as well as paying premiums (if affordable) for the option for faster or different care.

cozietoesie · 22/08/2019 17:35

I'm not convinced that Joe will run. He's going for it real early. SmileGrin

cozietoesie · 22/08/2019 20:36

His running mate will be critical

AcrossthePond55 · 22/08/2019 20:37

Well, he's a declared candidate cozie and we just received our first 'Biden for President' mailing today. I'd say it's going to come down to Biden, Saunders, or Warren as nominee. I'm good with any of those three.

Actually I'm good with a ring-tailed baboon if it can beat Scrotus!

lionheart · 22/08/2019 21:18

A ring-tailed baboon would make a much better President.

AcrossthePond55 · 22/08/2019 21:30

A better looking one, too.
