Seeing so many threads about properties and the difference in prices reported I get why it can be so difficult for people to imagine the differences between areas.

Would IBU to be curious and ask you to hop on primelocation and see what are the cheapest and the most expensive properties within 5 miles of your home? Ignore shared ownership, retirement only and investment student studios. Obviously you don't have to post links, just say the area so you can keep anonymous.

I will start.
NW big city
The cheapest:
2 bed flat 35k. Fully livable! Just needs decorating. 15 min to city centre.
The most expensive: 😮
8 bed, oh so amazing, grade 2 listed £1,995,000. 25 min to city centre.

NE London here!

Skipping all the garages/land...

Cheapest- fairly wretched looking one bed flat, £140k

Most Expensive - 9 bed detached house, £4,999,995.

Somerset :
Cheapest - 1 bedroom flat in local town 100,000
Most expensive - 3.5 million 42 bedroom holiday complex on outskirts of same town.

Most expensive £60 million (yep, London).

Cheapest; studio in Tottenham for £155,000 - lease is only 66 years. I skipped 4 pages of garages so there might be one cheaper hidden in there. Maybe.

From Falmouth Cornwall- most expensive POA 4 bed detached house, least expensive. Offers in excess of £55,000 1 bed detached bungalow on a park site.

Obviously very localised in this neck of the woods! The range in my immediate area (half a mile) is 200k (1-bed flat) to 850k. (4-bed house)

Most expensive - £29m 11 bed mansion - not built yet! - think others have also come across this! Next one is a £22m 6 bed, then £16.5m 10 bed in/near a v famous golf course.

Cheapest - £100k for a studio “in need of modernisation”.
