AIBU or is the weather flattening anyone else?

Since Wednesday or Thursday, I've a heavy weighted sensation in my head. Like my head is weighing me down. I had a whopping headache all day Thursday.

Is it the weather/impending thunder forecast BUT NOT HAPPENING or am I coming down with something?

I usually get a headache before a thunder storm but this sensation is that I feel sluggish and just weighed down. I think it's affecting my BP or something.

Am I stark raving mad or does anyone else feel it? London btw

I've felt really tired and lethargic the last couple of days and I think it's the weather, just want it to break!!

TotheletterofthelawTHELETTER · 20/07/2019 20:08

Same. Massive pressure headache yesterday and today. Feel like my sinuses might explode.

GillT333 · 20/07/2019 20:08

I’m in Essex and been the same!

Elemental · 20/07/2019 20:09

Yep, I can’t function properly when it’s so heavy and humid.

mushroommayhem · 20/07/2019 20:14

Yes, me too! Really struggled at work (study hot office), headaches, lethargy. It really does effect some people. Can't wait for the eventual storm!

mushroommayhem · 20/07/2019 20:14

*stuffy hot office that was supposed to say!

Ellieboolou27 · 20/07/2019 20:16

Same here, constantly dehydrated despite drinking lots of water, usually only have to take paracetamol at time of the month but last 2 days I've needed to take them.

Redshoeblueshoe · 20/07/2019 20:18

I've had a headache all day. Here in South Manchester we've had a tornado this afternoon Shock

yulet · 20/07/2019 20:22

Yes I've been feeling like this, with on and off again pressurey headaches that I usually only get before storms. It's very annoying!

Thump · 21/07/2019 09:26

Yes, there was thunder storms promised on my weather app yesterday and last night but they don't appear to have happened!
I feel we need a good storm to clear the air.
Me too - rarely get a headache but have been taking paracetamol the last few days!
A tornado???

Predicting 33c for the next 3-4 days here 😖 dreading it, anything over 24 and I'm a mess, even the kids hate it as too hot for anything, fine if your in holiday - not in UK

Pinktinker · 21/07/2019 10:13

I felt awful last year during the crippling heatwave, it never seemed to end. I was fairly heavily pregnant at the time though which didn’t help but I’ve never handled suffocating heat well.

This year isn’t so bad. It’s probably only been too warm for my personal liking for five or so days. It’s when it’s every single day for weeks, I just can’t cope.

LittleCandle · 21/07/2019 10:19

Very close here and I work in a hospital and it is broiling in there. I'm shattered and because it is warm at night, I am not sleeping well either. I do have the windows open at night. We had torrential showers yesterday which seemed to break the mugginess, but it soon came back down.

bluetongue · 21/07/2019 10:30

YANBU. It’s winter where I am now and magically my migraines have disappeared. Weather is a big trigger for me.

I can go for a long walk with my dog without worrying about sunburn or either of us overheating.

Then there’s the lack of sleep when it doesn’t cool down overnight. I honestly don’t know why people love the really hot weather.

Thump · 21/07/2019 23:12

I used to live on mainland Europe and you get drier air or something. I waitressed in a cafe to 20 tables outside at 40 degrees. It's not even 30 degrees here and I can't even scratch me arse lol!

Maybe I'm having what is called migraine then? I know it's the weather causing it, nothing physical with me, but it causes all sorts of mad, not so nice symptoms. Mainly lethargy, sluggishness, headache, headache, worse headache, nausea, stomach not right, head dizzy etc. Nausea, headache, tiredness.
THUNDER - PLEASE COME AND CLEAR THE FUCKING AIR!

Well I have been OK this past few days, but I have been off work since Wednesday, so have been chilling, and doing nothing much.

I do find humidity vile though. And it's gonna get worse!!!

I would rather have it 36 C and just HOT, (like a dry heat,) than 23 and humid.

And it's going to get worse over the next 4-5 days. Possibly 35 C by mid week. I am at work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday too, and we don't have aircon! WHOOP! WHOOP! Hmm

I agree. Bring on the thunderstorms!

Grimbles · 21/07/2019 23:18

My sinuses have been throbbing like a bastid since friday night Sad

Thump · 21/07/2019 23:20

Is this what a migraine is?

NeverSayFreelance · 21/07/2019 23:21

Thunder headaches are definitely a thing - but I'm full of the cold right now and so are half the people I know, so it might be going about where you are too.

Thump · 21/07/2019 23:23

I'm alternating paracetamol and nurofen for the headaches... the last time I needed painkillers was about a year ago!

I spend lots of time sweating and swearing profusely at the map showing me who to be jealous of right now. It's Poland and Romania this evening.

lmaps.org/#19.47;43.77;4

My head starts pounding when there's actually a thunderstorm just too far away to make any difference to the clamminess, but close enough that we can see the bastard flashes.

Thump · 21/07/2019 23:26

No, I definitely don't have a cold. If I get a cold, I end up in hospital more or less. Well defo a chest infection, probably pneumonia. Note to self: Add Vit C to shopping list!

OP posts:
QuestionableMouse · 21/07/2019 23:27

I think you should probably visit your GP just to check nothing else is going on the headache. If painkillers aren't shifting it best to be on the safe side.

I've been knackered all week though. I feel like I'm not sleeping well and just don't want to get up on a morning. Might have a sleep in tomorrow and see how I feel.

Titsywoo · 21/07/2019 23:27

I'm ok but it's bothering the dog massively and she spends the nights stressed and wanders the halls panting loudly and waking everyone up.
