They really are astonishing pictures, part of an ad campaign. He looks just like mum. I'm not keen. Please Google for ref, can't do link.

Nothing wrong with hair and make up. A lot wrong with stereotype sexy posing. Not OK for a girl. Not OK for a boy.

MarshaBradyo · 18/07/2019 09:53

I saw this earlier not knowing who it was I thought he looked intriguing but completely androgynous and may not have realised he was a boy (but didn’t look long or think much about it)

RubberTreePlant · 18/07/2019 09:53

Nice to see a young, pretty, camp man who isn't 'transitioning', TBH.

Takes you back.

Fairenuff · 18/07/2019 09:55

I think in general a lot of people still feel uncomfortable with a very feminine man.

Yes, especially other men. Unfortunately this is one of the things that causes feminine men to claim to be women. If people can see that it's just hair, makeup and clothes, then they would feel less uncomfortable and just accept that some men don't fit into the stereotypical male trait box. I also know loads of women who are not stereotypically feminine but no-one seems to have a problem with them

It would be nice to see a young pretty camp man who wasn’t embracing sex stereotypes.....

IncandescentShadow · 18/07/2019 10:00

I don't find him stunningly beautiful. He's ok, if a bit weird looking, with a bulbous nose and small mouth, he looks rather like his rather unattractive father Steve Bing. He is however wearing a lot of make up to even out his skin tone and has had his hair done so as to resemble a "glamorous" stereotypical woman from the eighties, hence overall it makes him look more like his mother. Its a marketing ploy, to get him work as yet another celebrity model-spawn who doesn't have quite the right credential to get work off his own back.

Do celebrity spawn ever do "normal" standard jobs, like nurses, doctors, lawyers, accountants, etc?

withlotsoflove · 18/07/2019 10:02

Too funny!
It’s the fashion world...
You’ll see some weird shit in that environment every day. You get used to it!
It isn’t the latest free magazine from Tesco Grin
This isn’t something to be understood- it’s fun!
And... none of you have any idea of how Damien is in real life - so knocking him is pretty uneducated.

Alsohuman · 18/07/2019 10:05

Am I the only person who remembers the 70s? When men had long hair and wore eyeliner? I always had a weakness for guys who looked androgynous, Marc Bolan could have had me any time. I can’t see any difference.

joystir59 · 18/07/2019 10:05

His mother looks like a woman and he looks like a man. I don't understand what makes you uncomfortable.

CarolDanvers · 18/07/2019 10:07

This is the first I've heard of him. He can't be in too many places

Or maybe you're not looking in a particularly wide range of places?

Samcro · 18/07/2019 10:10

one thing I have never got is what Liz Hurley is famous for. ((goes off to google))

teaandbiscuits89 · 18/07/2019 10:11

You are being unreasonable!

They're pictures of a boy who isnt doing anything offensive, illegal or overly sexual... what's your problem? The only thing I can think you would be uneasy stems from you having some sort of phobic tendencies towards feminate men and enshrined gender stereotypes, neither of which are okay

TruthOnTrial · 18/07/2019 10:11

I think in general a lot of people still feel uncomfortable with a very feminine man

I think women have different types, but whats going on here is not that. His whole demeanor is put on and false. Its taking on the sexualised posing that traditionally women and girls are forced to adopt and now do themselves for public acclaim. Selling themselves to the devil.

In terms of sexual attraction i could be sexually attracted to a man who wasnt stereotypically male, with big muscular body bulk, he could have long hair, plus or minus beard (thinking like Ollie here with good looks and smooth well maintained flawless skin), but if he tried to feminise, bye!

If my DH started pouting, and jutting out his chest and bum, id be completely turned off in an instant.

I thought gay people in general were less about gender stereotype conforming now, and just homosexual without feeling the need to be?

If you get off on dressing up, thats something different Hmm

CathyorClaire · 18/07/2019 10:12

Lord above those pictures are absolutely fine. Takes me right back to the 80's where gorgeous, androgynous men were ten a penny.

What goes round comes round Smile

Fairenuff · 18/07/2019 10:15

It would be nice to see a young pretty camp man who wasn’t embracing sex stereotypes.....

It would be even nicer not to have sex stereotypes and for the whole world not to think pouty lips and big hair = female. Would be lovely for women to finally be able to shed these ridiculous fashions.

CarolDanvers · 18/07/2019 10:16

one thing I have never got is what Liz Hurley is famous for.

Initially, being Hugh Grant's girlfriend and wearing a dress with safety pins down the sides.

I don't really get why anyone would be uncomfortable. They're just advertisements. . . . .

BluebellsAndRoses · 18/07/2019 10:37

When I looked at the photo I first thought it was a girl.
Then I thought why is he modelling at a young age.
Then I shrugged and thought each to their own.

BertrandRussell · 18/07/2019 10:38

“Takes me right back to the 80's where gorgeous, androgynous men were ten a penny.”

He’s not androgynous. He is copying female sexual stereotypes. Not acceptable in boys or girl. If you didn’t know he was a boy you wouldn’t have your preconceptions or stereotypes thinking challenged- you’d just think it was a picture of a woman.

BertrandRussell · 18/07/2019 10:39

And people are so incredibly keen to show themselves to be cool about the image they are mostly refusing to engage with the issue of sexual politics it highlights.

LadyRannaldini · 18/07/2019 10:40

Why on earth can you feel 'uncomfortable' about a picture of someone you don't know? I can't help thinking that there are people on this site who enjoy feeling 'incomfortable' and look for excuses!

TruthOnTrial · 18/07/2019 10:40

theyre just ads ... just photos ... cant see anything unusual type comments

Naïve.

JinglingHellsBells · 18/07/2019 10:43

Reminds me a bit of the late Marc Bolan. Very feminine.

ssd · 18/07/2019 10:43

Weird. His mum always had the look of a man about her and now her son looks like a good looking woman.
Not what I'd want for my boys but each to their own.
