They really are astonishing pictures, part of an ad campaign. He looks just like mum. I'm not keen. Please Google for ref, can't do link.

I would not have known who his mother was if you did not say. I hate those ridiculous overblown shots, but he is absolutely fucking fine.

DonkeyHohtay · 18/07/2019 07:56

He's definitely got that "model" look and will get a lot of work for high-end fashion brands. And yes he looks a lot like his mum - althuogh in the article linked to it's clear that it's been set up so that there are a lot of similarities.

Doesn't make me uncomfortable though.

NoSauce · 18/07/2019 07:58

He looks completely vacuous and self absorbed

What, do you mean in general or just in this ad? Because if it’s the latter you’re being completely ridiculous.

sloaneBear · 18/07/2019 07:58

He’s stunning. He’s playing with his gender in that campaign which captures the zeitgeist of his generation. I don’t feel uncomfortable. I do find it interesting and it gives a different perspective on the contrast between traditional male and female model poses.

longwayoff · 18/07/2019 08:00

@BarbarAnna, thats it, thanks for pinning it down. It makes me a bit squirmy to such a manufactured and polished reflection of mum. I'd feel the same if he were her daughter. He's of an age when I'd expect him to be developing an identity of his own rather than mirroring mother so intently.

Mean!

He's modelling. He looks like his mum. Start and end of the story.

ChocChocButtons · 18/07/2019 08:02

He’s beautiful! He’s also now an adult so not sure why it makes you uncomfortable?

Knittedjimmychoos · 18/07/2019 08:07

They clearly have very close bond and with no father in scene, marriage break up and so on its been just them

I don't find him attractive in the slightest however at all. I don't think Liz h is that attractive though either.

VivienneHolt · 18/07/2019 08:07

You don’t see this kind of hand wringing when there are photos of daughters looking just like their mothers (Reese Witherspoon and Ava Philippe, Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson, Meryl Streep and Mamie Gummer) - it’s just celebrated as something fun and cute. I expect it’s only really causing controversy here because (perhaps even subconsciously) people are concerned about the traversing of gender expectations.

InsertFunnyUsername · 18/07/2019 08:08

Ready to be flamed, but i have always found this odd, and uncomfortable. Especially some posts on Instagram, cant actually explain why though 🤷🏼‍♀️

He is very beautiful to look at, as is Liz.

whitershadeofpale · 18/07/2019 08:09

They freaked me out a bit but I can’t put my finger on why. There’s something uncanny valley about him. Like someone said more like a doll than a man.

He's one of the few celebrity offspring that actually has the face and body to be a model, unlike most of them who just ride on the back of their famous sibling/parent.

SlurpyMcSlurperFace · 18/07/2019 08:14

He's been made up to look female/like his mum. I do find it a little weird.

Like Brooklyn/Romeo you mean? (Toothless millwall supporters)

Nousernameforme · 18/07/2019 08:16

I think the first picture with his hair all blown out makes him look a bit strange and out of proportion. The other photos in the article do make him look like his mum.

MayFayner · 18/07/2019 08:17

He’s lovely. I hadn’t realised he was an adult yet- when I saw his name I thought of a toddler with a curly mop which is probably the last photo I saw of him.

Anyway, here we all are talking about him so job done I guess 🤷‍♀️

Sparklingbrook · 18/07/2019 08:18

Are the photos just stills from the video/ad? In the video it's just a short moving bit.
He can't help it that he looks like his Mum. Confused

GCAcademic · 18/07/2019 08:20

Because the ridiculousness of the pouting, eyelash-fluttering expressions we’re used to seeing on women is highlighted when they’re performed by men?

^This

Sux2buthen · 18/07/2019 08:21

Well I guess there's no point me wearing my rabbit ears hat and leather trousers now🤷🏻‍♀️that's the school run ruined

tenthreginald · 18/07/2019 08:21

The pouting and weird expression makes me uncomfortable, if that's the right word. I just hate it when any model does that 'blow-up doll expression'

CarolDanvers · 18/07/2019 08:21

It's his silly pout. I can't stand to look at him.

TalentedMsRipley · 18/07/2019 08:22

I burst out laughing when I just saw the pics.

MorrisZapp · 18/07/2019 08:24

If French and Saunders have taught us anything, it's that anyone can resemble anyone else given the right professional treatment. He's a good looking lad for sure, but like most models if you saw him in tescos in his joggers you probably wouldn't look twice.

Most kids of iconic offspring will play with the resemblance at some point or other, I suppose it's the gender aspect that makes this unusual. Hurley also has a nephew who models, he's the only professional I can think of who uses his mother's maiden name for work! Fuck it, if you can call yourself Hurley then why wouldn't you.

HennyPennyHorror · 18/07/2019 08:25

He's modelling makeup and he looks like his Mother.

What's to feel weird about? It's deliberately androgynous. Nothing new about that. Not since David Bowie.
