Toothache but nothing wrong with my teeth!

Went to dentist today. Had x-rays, she spent ages looking at my teeth and gums. I've got hideous toothache. I KNOW which tooth it is coming from because it's related to me eating hot or cold food and when I touch it it hurts. She said my teeth are great. She can't see anything wrong so can't treat. Said I just have to hope it settles down.

Wtf do I do? I'm in pain but can't do anything about it.

I had a toothache that dentist and doctor couldn’t find any cause for - wrong place for sinusitis, clear x rays. They referred me to an orofacial pain specialist and I got diagnosed with a nerve condition in the end (burning mouth syndrome), probably stress related. I was so sure I had an abscess or something!
Not saying it’s the same for you OP but if you get a second opinion and they still can’t see any problem with your teeth, it may be worth asking for a referral.

Reading your updates, it sounds more like a cracked tooth - that’s what they thought mine was at first.
Either way, sending you sympathy OP, toothache is awful.

I currently have a severe sinus infection and it has caused absolutely raging tooth ache. Been to the dentist had xrays etc... and the infection can be seen on the xray. It also affected 1 tooth so need a root canal on that one. I would go the gp to rule out a sinus infection.
