I heard a scientist on the radio this morning who has devoted her whole career to analysing the moon rock samples brought back from this mission. You'd better let her know that it was all a big hoax...

I'd never heard of dihydrogen monoxide before this thread. Your right too much of it is deadly.

I do know someone who was very very sick from this. Upset their electrolyte balance.

Dihydrogen monoxide is incredibly powerful stuff if present in large quantities it can be uncontrollable. It is effective across a wide range of temperatures and has the potential to kill at all of them.

I'm not going to call you stupid, OP, but if you just view hoaxtard videos on YouTube it's very easy to get sucked into the Moon Hoax echo chamber.

Quite a lot of people simply watch the videos and take the info at face value, without bothering to check the claims.

Here's an example: someone put camera film into an oven at 200F (which he claimed was the temperature on the moon during the Apollo missions) and it melted. Ha ha said the clown, the film melted in my oven, therefore the film in the Apollo cameras would have melted, ergo, the moon landings were a hoax.

I'm sure anyone with a basic science education knows why that's a load of utter bollocks.

Is it just the first moon landing that some people consider to be a hoax, or do they think all of them were faked?

Actually the TARDIS was simultaneously at the moon landing 4 times with Martha and the 10th Doctor (and probably a few other incarnations popping along to have a look) and (invisible) in Area 51 with the 11th Doctor.

Also there at the same time was a pod from St Mary's, and it was the release of air when somebody opened the door that made the flag wobble. Which disposes of another bit of 'evidence' for the conspiracy theory....

Went to the pictures last night and saw a documentary on the moon landings, all footage taken at the time.
400,000 people worked on that project. Pretty sure one of them would have blabbed if it was all bollocks.
There is no way that 400,000 people can keep a secret. And that's without taking into account the Russians. Think what a PR coup it would have been if they could prove that America never made it to the moon.
I heard Buzz Aldrin nearly punched someone who asked him, for the 400,889221st time whether he really went to the moon. Imagine doing something so awesome, and coming back to find morons questioning it because they, with their gcse in moon-ology think that it doesn't look right

cardibach- the Russians don't believe the landings were genuine. There have been a lot of attempts by scientists over the years to prove they didn't happen- including by NASA scientists. I'm not a scientist so couldn't say one way or the other what happened.

Do you ever wonder why the Men in Black don’t go after the conspiracy theorists who ‘expose’ these dangerous secrets and try and silence them? I logged in to point out the science - 250,000 mile transmission range, comms link bandwidth, 1960s TV camera resolutions. analogue rather than digital &etc - but I see someone has already done that.

These "conspiracy theories" used to make me laugh, now they just make me sad. How can anyone believe for a millisecond that not one, not a single soul, of the upwards of 300,000 people who worked on the Apollo programme had the "proof" it was faked and went public with it. Simple explanation: it wasn't faked.

FWIW and, I met (well, shook as a total aside hands and exchanged a couple of awe-struck words with) Neil Armstrong in the very early 1970s.

My uncle worked for NASA in the Apollo programme (was selected from uni) from the 1960's onwards and believe me there is no way it was faked. He worked periodically for NASA until the Challenger disaster. He was very proud of his work but will only talk about bits of it. My uncle is definitely not the type of man who would help cover up a conspiracy like the moon landings and gets quite cross at the theorists!

Not really. There have been people who claimed to do 'experiments' to show that the Apollo missions could not have happened because of x, y, z.

The film 'experiment' I mentioned above is a case in point. This 'scientist' indeed succeeded in melting camera film inside an oven at 200F, and the hoaxtards clapped and drooled at his cleverness.

Of course, that fact that ovens transfer heat to things by heating the air inside them (convection) seems not to have been mentioned. There IS no convection heating on the moon, because there's no air. So much for the clown's 'science experiment' and the scientific knowledge of his target audience.
