Totally superficial I know but I think she looks absolutely fantastic.

Slim and slimmer doesn't make you unhealthy.

Anna Kournikova slimmed down a lot after she stopped playing tennis. She looks just as beautiful and healthy before and after, just different. She just had a different lifestyle then and now.

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 14/07/2019 14:30

rainbowbash before your comment gets deleted, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Thump · 14/07/2019 14:31

I think it's her skinniness that makes her look to awful.

WTF? She's beautiful by any standard. Jealous.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 14/07/2019 14:31

Because she's not lazy...?

I could do Parkrun every Saturday but I never get up in time. I could go for a run (can't afford the gym) but don't bother. I could eat more healthily but don't because I haven't take the time to meal plan and therefore buy accordingly. I could therefore be a size 10-12 rather than a 14-16.

Obviously still not Katherine sized but if I didn't have a sweet tooth, eat when bored and had a love of exercise, it would be totally possible.

I honestly think that money helps. Buying in childcare, gym membership, equipment at home. Being able to afford more fruit and vegetables, especially fresh for snacking. Money to buy into a diet plan or specific diet foods, or have some reasonable cooking skills.

Thump · 14/07/2019 14:35

Even Karl Lagerfeld, renowned for being a critical cunt, said she was beautiful.

So how any of you resident Mona Lisa's here can say she looks awful is surely out of spite, bitterness and pure common or garden jealousy.

rainbowbash · 14/07/2019 14:36

What if I said a size 18 fatty looked like an oompa loompa with a beer belly. Not like a woman. What say you then?

that wouldn't be a healthy look either. I never said obese is good. Hmm it's not. but so is being underweight.

RedDogsBeg · 14/07/2019 14:37

When I thought CheerfulChimp's man in a dress comment was low and now we have rainbowbash going even lower. Neither of those posters would let similar nasty comments about overweight people slide, their outrage would be epic.

KindnessCrusader · 14/07/2019 14:37

I don't think I'm as tall as Kate (I'm 5'7) but I'm a similar shape-straight up and down, muscular arms and legs. I have 4 kids, my diet is truly appalling and I don't do any exercise other than walking where I need to go. I'm not starving myself (quite the opposite!) People are built differently. I wouldn't in a million years claim to be healthy, or in any way concerned about my weight, actually-it's just the way I am.

silverystream · 14/07/2019 14:37

I genuinely have never seen anyone in real life who is as thin as Kate...even the gym bunnies at my posh gym would look pretty big in comparison to her.

I'm surprised, formerbabe. I have seen some very thin people. Some do look ill. I mean that you can see outlines of all their rib cage and their legs at very thin. I remember some bikini pictures of a couple of celebs in the early 2000s who were really that thin. Kate Middleton is very slim but not that thin.

Thump · 14/07/2019 14:37

BTW - if we were having this discussion about Meghan, we'd have had 50 posters on by now saying it's because she's of mixed heritage.

This thread just goes to show that anyone in the public eye gets a bollocking from time to time - thankfully only a few bitter people on this thread, but the spite in their posts is enough to add a bitter flavour to the thread overall.

SemperIdem · 14/07/2019 14:38

This...this is not the thread I was hoping for. I was looking for tips on how to be leaner, more toned and eating more healthily - after seeing photo’s of Kate I felt inspired. Shouldn’t have put her name in the title. My intention wasn’t for her to be ripped apart and have foul things said about her.

Benjispruce · 14/07/2019 14:39

aibu is not the place op.

Sugarformyhoney · 14/07/2019 14:41

I always think Kate looks quite frail. I don’t think she’s that tiny but I can’t put my finger on it- maybe she’s thinner than she should be for her height and frame? Either way I don’t think she looks enviable.

silverystream · 14/07/2019 14:43

Oh, well. The answer is diet and exercise, believe it or not.Grin

Log you food on an ap. Make sure there is a calorie deficit if you need to lose weight. Cut starchy carbs and sugar. Eat plenty of non starchy veg and protein.

Do 30 mins to an hour of aerobic exercise a day along with some strength training. YouTube has lots of examples of what exercises to do.

SemperIdem · 14/07/2019 14:43

@Benjispruce you’re right. I should have known better, being a long time user. Just didn’t think before I posted. Blush

RedDogsBeg · 14/07/2019 14:43

SemperIdem it's a red rag to a bull to some posters who just can't stand anyone being slim, toned and healthy they just can't stop themselves tearing them to shreds to cover up their own issues and insecurities.

Thump · 14/07/2019 14:44

And people are mentioning good genes in response to the OPs question, as to what she eats etc. to make her look so fantastic.

My genes mean I've skinny limbs, no arse worth mentioning, big boobs for the size of me, small feet and my waist is not much slimmer than my hip/arse measurement. They are not what I'd call brilliant genes, but you can't have it all. I'd like more junk in ma trunk, smaller boobs and for my waist to be slimmer, but it is what it is. You gotta shake what yo Momma gave ya! Grin

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 14/07/2019 14:44

the only tips anyone can give you are consistency, healthy diet and regular exercise. It's not rocket science to be honest, it's just priorities.

Some people just want to slob in front of the tv at the end of the day. That's absolutely fine, but others chose to exercise and never snack. Others get up at 5am to exercise for 1 hour before the house wakes up and their day start. Others chose to sleep longer. Some people like big portions of junk food, others don't.

the main thing is consistency, not having "cheat days" and not feeling discouraged.

Look at the poster who planks in front of the tv. If we were all doing this, or instead of being on MN, we would have the best abs you can dream of.

herculepoirot2 · 14/07/2019 14:44

I’m not going to comment on her figure, but yes, I think some people are too fat and some too thin. Nothing wrong with that statement. I am too fat. I carry more weight than is ideal for my health. In the same way, people can be too thin. It’s just not our place to comment - like people are doing here - on someone’s body in such intimate detail.

PerfectPeony2 · 14/07/2019 14:44

I love Kate and think she’s absolutely stunning. She seems like a nice person and I love her clothes too.

She’s always been really into sports so my guess would be she’s a runner. I don’t know many women who are quite as slim but a lot of people I see at running events have great figures and are very lean with low body fat.

For most I think it would be unattainable as you have to be tall and naturally slim. I think she probably eats very healthy (protein, low carb) and exercises daily.

Although sadly I think she is under a lot of pressure to look a certain way- which I hope doesn’t influence her eating/ exercise too much!

SemperIdem · 14/07/2019 14:46

@silverystream I know it’s diet and exercise. It was more, what sort of exercise, how often, what sort of good food (I’m not a salad person, at 30 I have entry level tastes but trying to improve).

Thank you for the food app tip though. I think I am guilty of emotional eating a lot of the time, there is provably a bit of “secret eating” going on.

I’m not big per se but I am bigger than I look my best at. I’m not under any delusions I can look exactly like Kate, different body types entirely.

OP posts:
Basketofkittens · 14/07/2019 14:47

She is attractive, thin, wears expensive clothes and is well groomed.

Personally I don’t think she is beautiful. I don’t envy her looks or figure. I’m a size 12, not skinny, my BMI is in the healthy range.

Loopytiles · 14/07/2019 14:47

I would bet a lot of money that her BMI is well below the “healthy” range, but that’s the case for almost all women in the public eye.

Thump · 14/07/2019 14:48

The answer for me OP is Pilates and Yoga. Mix it up then with maybe a bootcamp class, boxercise, maybe some salsa/tango/zumba classes. Alcohol is also the fucking killer. It leaves you tired and sluggish and it has tonnes of calories.

We all sort of 'know' what we need to do, but just walking ain't going to get you slim and fit and strong and healthy.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 14/07/2019 14:50

I wouldn’t mind looking like her. She’s amazing. However she does it.
