Totally superficial I know but I think she looks absolutely fantastic.

I know plenty of women who are a similar build and size to Kate (sadly I'm not one of them). 2 of my nieces, in their late 30s with 3 children each, are very similar to her in height and build. Neither of them exercise, both of them eat well. Given that the rest of the family are prone to easy weight gain, who knows why they don't follow suit.

A friend in her 50s is shorter than Kate but as slim, if not slimmer. She eats a really good healthy diet and does a 5k parkrun each week.

Another friend in her late 40s with two teenage children is about the same height but definitely slimmer than Kate, but she eats a restricted diet and never, ever, snacks.

None of this matters. Who cares what other people do or don't do. She wants to look like that so she does. If I were in line to be queen of England I might find a bit more willpower.

This thread is unbelievable. Would there ever be an occasion when it would be ok to say "She looks too fat to me" about someone without being called out for fat shaming?

When will people learn that just as some people are fat whatever they do, some people will also be slim. It's a combination of metabolism, genes, smaller appetite and lack of interest in food. Some people don't respond to hunger pangs the second they feel them. Some people don't eat lunch just because it's lunchtime. Some people prefer not to carry extra weight and they do something about it and they like exercise. Some people are slim and they don't have an eating disorder. Leave the woman alone, she looks fine.

100% agree with every word you've written.

dayswithaY · 14/07/2019 14:15

I see women like her all the time.

AgnesNutterWitch · 14/07/2019 14:16

@cheerfulchimp How can a woman have "no figure"? Is she a celestial being who has shed her corporeal form?

Of course she has a figure. It's just one that apparently makes you feel so insecure that you need to make horrible comments about it.

breakfastpizza · 14/07/2019 14:17

She used to have a lovely athletic figure. She's thinner now than when she was a teen/early twenties. It doesn't look natural or healthy to me at all.

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 14/07/2019 14:17

So are people saying that her genes are 'good' , are you saying that a curvy/fuller figured woman's genes are 'bad'?

why would you think that? Naturally skinny or curvier body shape are perfectly fine, both can be slim. But admiring a curvy healthy woman doesn't mean anyone look down at someone with a more boyish figure.
Marylin Monroe looked amazing, she wasn't skinny, but she was very thin. It doesn't mean Twiggy looked bad.

dayswithaY · 14/07/2019 14:17

Thank you Thump, just stunned by the cruel comments on here.

Benjispruce · 14/07/2019 14:19

She eats a really good healthy diet and does a 5k parkrun each week.

A 3 mile(30 min) run once a week is nothing and doesn't get you to that thinness on its own. she is naturally long and lean.

WorraLiberty · 14/07/2019 14:19

Aww, another passive aggressive question trying to hint that I'm just a jealous fat cow....so fake of you!

Nope. I don't do passive aggressive.

Let me spell it out since my last post clearly didn't.

You made a disgusting comment about famine victims, then went on to (passive aggressively ironically enough) state that some posters only think they are as slim as Kate.

Given that those posters can see their own bodies and you can't and given many of your other previous comments on this thread, I stand by my statement that you should really have a long hard think about why it makes you feel better to say these things about slim women.

Clear enough, without sounding 'passive aggressive'?

Benjispruce · 14/07/2019 14:20

why would you think that? because several posters have said she just has 'good' genes.

RedDogsBeg · 14/07/2019 14:20

dayswithaY Well said. All those posters who have said Kate is too thin (although too thin for what exactly is not elaborated on) would you make the same bald statement that someone is too fat and if not, why not?

WorraLiberty you and I end up saying the same things on these threads over and over. Posters become defensive because they can't bear to acknowledge that people who are slim and healthy tend not to overeat or snack or plan their entire life around the consumption of food.

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 14/07/2019 14:20

I genuinely have never seen anyone in real life who is as thin as Kate...even the gym bunnies at my posh gym would look pretty big in comparison to her.

ok then.. . Hmm

I have one example who lives 2 doors away from me, pushes a double buggy whilst her 2 elder ones are usually cycling. She is tiny, she looks amazing and her 4 kids are beautiful.

Skinny women are everywhere apart from your town apparently.

ElspethFlashman · 14/07/2019 14:21

I’m a size 6 and I’ve been in the same room as Kate - she’s far tinier than me. Probably a 0 or 00. She’s gorgeous but exceptionally tiny

Yeah friend of mine said the same. Friend is a size 10 so on the slimmer side herself. Said she was wiry but still one of the thinnest people she'd ever met.

You hear these stories from time to time but people never really believe them. I do though.

formerbabe · 14/07/2019 14:22

What things?

Other posters have said far worse.

Benjispruce · 14/07/2019 14:22

I work with a woman who is about 7 stone, in her 50s and a size 4/6. She doesn't stop eating and does no exercise. She has no idea why she is that size and would love to have a more curvy shape. Not all women like being super thin.

Grin Grin Grin

how old are you?

Itssosunny · 14/07/2019 14:23

She didn't look good in that green dress yesterday. The dress was too big for her. Today her dress is really nice. She doesn't normally dress well but the blue dress is just perfect for her.

WorraLiberty · 14/07/2019 14:25

You know what things because they're on this very thread Confused

Oh it wasn't me Miss, they started it Hmm

Indeed RedDogs, in fact I'm going to step away from this thread because they do tend to attract some MNetters with issues that we don't know about.

I know. I was saying she doesn't get slim through over exercising Grin

Thump · 14/07/2019 14:27

I think it was because she was sat beside Meghan who is just 2 months post partum, so she naturally would look tiny in comparison. They both had similar figures around Meghan's wedding day, though Meghan has more of a figure like my beautiful self - i.e. not much of a slim waist no matter how thin she is - whereas Kate has a tiny waist.

I'm out, it's disgusting to talk about a woman this way.
