Totally superficial I know but I think she looks absolutely fantastic.

That's interesting because according to many posters on here, they regularly see loads of women the same size as Kate, some even think they are the same size as Kate...

apart from formerbabe who seems to come out straight of the world of Wall-E apparently.

EssentialHummus · 14/07/2019 14:00

As in, I don't think most people lose so much weight as they enter adulthood and then have children.

Janus · 14/07/2019 14:00

I used to be like this until I hit about 40. When trying for third child at 35 I was having trouble and nurse pointed out my bmi was about 17 so too low. I ate like an absolute pig but couldn’t put on weight. I didn’t do any exercise either. All went to pot when I had my 4th and was 40!! I now have a bmi of about 22 and although that’s healthy I feel overweight as remember how skinny I used to be 😢!

Thump · 14/07/2019 14:01

Well whatever some people 'think' @formerbabe - one thing is clear - you've come on here with a gripe... What that is I've no idea as you just want to pick on everyone...

EnglandInTheCricketFinal · 14/07/2019 14:03

I think I have a similar figure to Kate.
I’m 5’6” & 7.5 stone.
I do a lot of strength training & lift a lot of weights.
I plank every time I’m bored watching tv.

I eat mainly fish & chicken & salad. It sounds boring but I use a lot of spices/herbs etc.

I also drink 🍷 every single day not ideal but I like it

dayswithaY · 14/07/2019 14:04

This thread is unbelievable. Would there ever be an occasion when it would be ok to say "She looks too fat to me" about someone without being called out for fat shaming?

When will people learn that just as some people are fat whatever they do, some people will also be slim. It's a combination of metabolism, genes, smaller appetite and lack of interest in food. Some people don't respond to hunger pangs the second they feel them. Some people don't eat lunch just because it's lunchtime. Some people prefer not to carry extra weight and they do something about it and they like exercise. Some people are slim and they don't have an eating disorder. Leave the woman alone, she looks fine.

Benjispruce · 14/07/2019 14:04

She is stunning because of her face, not her thinness.

LuckyLou7 · 14/07/2019 14:04

Is there anyone here who is bigger than a size 8 - 10? (Apart from me, big fat heifer at 12 - 14, obviously)
This competitive undereating stuff is seriously damaging, have any of you glanced at any pro-ana websites?

FWIW I think KM is a healthy, very slender woman, with good genes, who probably eats minimally yet healthily and exercises a lot.

WorraLiberty · 14/07/2019 14:05

Our perception of what is too thin has become really skewed by overweight being the norm

Well that didn't take long.

It didn't take long because it's absolutely true.

I'll never get why some MNetters appear to take offence at that statement Confused

Benjispruce · 14/07/2019 14:06

England how do you get your carbohydrate and dairy if you mainly eat fish, chicken and salad?

Benjispruce · 14/07/2019 14:06

Me lucky I'm a 10/12.

"That's interesting because according to many posters on here, they regularly see loads of women the same size as Kate, some even think they are the same size as Kate..."

I really don't think this thread is for you formerbabe.

What with that and you 'famine victims' comment, you clearly have something going on that threads like this aren't going to help with.

If it makes you feel better to think no-one here is the same size as Kate and that it's all in their heads, you perhaps need to ask yourself why it makes you feel better to think that.

waterallday · 14/07/2019 14:10

@WorraLiberty
some also just have smaller appetites and can't/don't eat past being full.

True!

dayswithaY · 14/07/2019 14:10

What a truly horrible thread this is.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 14/07/2019 14:11

People eat/drink too much for many different reasons

I am an atheist so do not have dietary requirements that I am meant to follow that doesn’t stop me eating or drinking too much or encourage me to

Women know your limits and get back in the line for food this silly feminist stuff has made too many of you over weight

happyhillock · 14/07/2019 14:12

I've seen her and she's extremely thin, i'm in no doubt she eats very healthily and does a lot of exercise but she's gone a bit to far, she looked good when she met William she carried a bit more weight.

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 14/07/2019 14:13

This competitive undereating stuff is seriously damaging

where did you see anyone mentioning undereating? Confused
Why the need to pretend that you MUST be starving if you are a size 8/10?

For each family who has a "pizza night", some with have a slice or 2 each then salad, others will have a pizza per person plus dough balls plus god knows! Is that what you call undereating? Most parents agree that school diner portions are very small, but they are hardly starving the kids either.

Surviving on one apple a day is unhealthy. Eating healthy small portions is not.

ZenNudist · 14/07/2019 14:13

Shes too skinny and its quite aging. Shes younger than me but looks older. Mind you shes still beautiful. Shame she dresses like a geriatric.

SemperIdem · 14/07/2019 14:13

I’m regretting the title of this thread, using Kate Cambridge as a direct example.

I should have titled it “AIBU to be curious as to how some women achieve healthy, very lean and toned figures...because I want one”.

CheerfulChimp · 14/07/2019 14:14

@Benjispruce
This face looks tired

Benjispruce · 14/07/2019 14:14

She must be pretty healthy as she plays tennis and has had 3 children. I doubt that would be possible if she was starving herself. She is just a naturally skinny lady but I don't envy her shape at all. So are people saying that her genes are 'good' , are you saying that a curvy/fuller figured woman's genes are 'bad'?

formerbabe · 14/07/2019 14:14

If it makes you feel better to think no-one here is the same size as Kate and that it's all in their heads, you perhaps need to ask yourself why it makes you feel better to think that.

Aww, another passive aggressive question trying to hint that I'm just a jealous fat cow....so fake of you!

I genuinely have never seen anyone in real life who is as thin as Kate...even the gym bunnies at my posh gym would look pretty big in comparison to her.

I'm not saying Kate looks bad, she doesn't, she looks amazing. I've just don't see all these women irl with comparable figures like other posters are saying.

CheerfulChimp · 14/07/2019 14:15

Tired

Nautiloid · 14/07/2019 14:15

I think if I were in the public eye as much as she is, I'd be paying very close attention to how I looked.

But I'm a staunch republican so I don't get the interest in her specifically.
