Totally superficial I know but I think she looks absolutely fantastic.

She seems naturally slim to me but I agree does have periods where she looks a little too thin, but that's probably down to running after kids, being tired/stressed etc. She seems a very hands on mother so I'm sure she's exhausted!

I wouldn't like to be in the public eye like she is, must be enormous pressure to maintain her figure.

Skyejuly · 14/07/2019 12:53

Probably personal chef and trainer. I like pizza too much!

formerbabe · 14/07/2019 12:54

Sure it is, that's why you never see fat mums?! Hmm

rainbowbash · 14/07/2019 12:54

I don't think she looks great. she looks unhealthy skinny and not normal at all. As to what she eats? probably healthy stuff and and very, very little.

But then, she has an army of servants, no real job (at least not in the common 9-5 with a long commute and multiple child drop offs/pick ups. I doubt she runs the household, probably doesn't do the washing, ironing, cleaning, DIY etc so she doesn't need nowhere near as much energy as the rest of us mere mortals to keep going.

MidsomerBurgers · 14/07/2019 12:54

She is naturally thin, but she is very fit and toned. Her thighs are actually quite muscular compared to the rest of her.

waterallday · 14/07/2019 12:55

@formerbabe That's not what I meant, if you're naturally very slim (like she seems to be) having a busy lifestyle literally makes you lose so much weight if you're not careful!

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 14/07/2019 12:55

formerbabe

you made a really sarcastic comment pretending that no one can possibly be as slim as Kate and people are lying. Posters might be, for all we know, they might eve be male, but it's ridiculous to pretend slim people don't exist.

I don't know where you are, but I see them every day. I also see extremely toned women, bigger because more "muscly" (sounds negative, but they look fab)

I wasn't PA to wonder what else than bitterness can make you pretend no one is skinny in the real world.

Whatafackinliberty · 14/07/2019 12:56

She looks like a lollipop. I'd rather be a size 20.

waterallday · 14/07/2019 12:57

@formerbabe I also know many very slim people (including myself!) that resemble her shape. I'm 5'9 and a size 6 and lose weight really quickly if I'm not careful! My mums the same.

WorraLiberty · 14/07/2019 12:57

Really? I never see anyone as slim as her.

I'm not sure where you live but I've seen loads and loads of women as slim as her and yet, I live in a London borough that has an extremely high obesity rate.

There was a time when those same women would have gone unnoticed but with the nation getting fatter, they're starting to stand out more as they're no longer considered 'the norm'.

TanMateix · 14/07/2019 12:57

I guess a lot of the secret to look so good is having house service around the clock. There is not much time to look after yourself when you don’t have a couple of nannies, a cleaner, a PA, wardrobe stylist and probably a very able cook keeping your diet healthy.

By the time you have woken up with the kids a dozen times in a row, clean the house after a full day at work, cook dinner, act as a PA for the whole of the household, walk the dog, pay the bills, put a load in the washer you don’t even have energy left to choose a nice jimjams, you just sit in your old comfy clothes, ice cream in hand in front of the TV, and shouldn’t be blamed for it.

Ghanagirl · 14/07/2019 12:58

Why these continually threads policing women’s bodies?
Yesterday it was the not fat at all 8 weeks postnatal Meghan Markle now her SIL.
Why is no interested in the size of Prince Williams waistline or Prince Harry’s Bum so misogynistic😡

Whatafackinliberty · 14/07/2019 12:58

And absolute lol that anyone thinks she runs after her own kids.

formerbabe · 14/07/2019 12:58

I see very young women in their teens who are as thin as her.

Women in their late thirties who've had three children? No, I've seen women who are slim but no, not as thin as Kate. And the slim ones I do know work bloody hard at it, so God knows how Kate does it?

zafferana · 14/07/2019 13:00

It's her job to look great and she has time and money aplenty. I'm sure she has a personal trainer and a chef and I bet she works out 5x a week doing cardio and strength work. If I had that sort of team at my beck and call I bet I'd look fucking amazing too! She's always been slim and sporty and her sister looks the same as her (as does their mum). I think she's great as a member of the RF. She's always elegant and never puts a foot wrong. The longer she's around the more I like and admire her.

The80sweregreat · 14/07/2019 13:00

I've seen a few women around as slim as Kate is now but a few have also admitted to having ( or had) eating disorders or been yo yo dieters etc in order to keep the weight off
I'm not suggesting the DoC is like this at all but to maintain a very slim figure as you get older is hard and must take a lot of work and discipline and time (which lots of people don't have. )
I think she looks great. The pressure must be huge though : if she did put on a few pounds then the press would be all over that too as they were with Sarah Ferguson in the 80s. She really suffered abuse in the past about her weight.

AdelaideK · 14/07/2019 13:00

I think she is starting to look a little too thin and drawn. She looked amazing when she was pregnant and had a fuller face. However she must be healthy as she gave birth to 3 hefty babies.

EdWinchester · 14/07/2019 13:00

She looks like a lollipop. I'd rather be a size 20.

OK. You'd rather be morbidly obese with all its associated health risks than have a toned, slim figure? Hmm

SemperIdem · 14/07/2019 13:01

Ghana

Well, being a woman I don’t aspire to have a male body.

To me, she looks very healthy and fit, as I ponder my own weight gain I wondered what it is she does to look so well.

It’s not misogynistic - it is shallow, which I acknowledge in the first post.

@formerbabe You sound quite ignorant jealous my mums had 2 kids and seems to have gotten slimmer with both! 😂 (I'm 20 now and sibling is 17)

There's are loads of different natural body type for goodness sake, just because you haven't experienced it yourself doesn't mean they don't exist!

SheSaidNoFuckThat · 14/07/2019 13:02

Before the wedding I read she was doing the Dukan diet (high protein/low carb/low fat). Having also done that diet (and fell off spectacularly after 6 weeks) its very joyless

waterallday · 14/07/2019 13:02

@Whatafackinliberty She may do, I believe she does. She always seems hands on and loving.

We don't know what goes on behind closed doors, yes they may have help (as its tradition) but they might not use it 24/7?

WorraLiberty · 14/07/2019 13:04

Agreed and also, not every slim older women with 3 children 'works hard' to maintain their figure.

Many do but the assumption on Mumsnet is often that they're all living life in totally misery and denying themselves cake and crisps.

formerbabe · 14/07/2019 13:05

@waterallday. Yes, anyone who thinks she's thin is a jealous fat cow Is that what you meant?

waterallday · 14/07/2019 13:06

And it doesn't take a lot of effort to be slim- I run when I feel like it (usually a few times a week for 20mins), eat healthily but have treats on Fridays (I eat pasta for dinner most nights!) lead a busy life studying, walk everywhere (as I don't drive). Its no effort to me and I'm a size 6 and tall.

Down to genetics.
