Totally superficial I know but I think she looks absolutely fantastic.

@crispysausagerolls totally agree.

zonkin · 15/07/2019 15:02

@Weaponsgradeplum it's truly awful that someone referred to you like that. How very hurtful. Flowers

NoTheresa · 15/07/2019 15:06

how fat everyone in this country is.

Speak for yourself. You are clearly not well travelled.

Weaponsgradeplum · 15/07/2019 15:14

zonkin thank you, the awful thing is that she's a good friend. I did call her on it later but I don't think she really registered it as being an upsetting comment. I've had another acquaintance ask me in front of a group if I was anorexic - what can you say?

zonkin · 15/07/2019 15:35

@Weaponsgradeplum I honestly don't know how I would respond to that question. I imagine that I would be horrified and embarrassed, and then try to change the subject.

I wouldn't dare to make any response regarding the acquaintance's weight.

I hope that someone in the group came to your rescue.

Weaponsgradeplum · 15/07/2019 16:02

zonkin the two strangers with her just stood staring at me, they probably felt awkward, my best friend god love her, said 'oh she's not anorexic, I always feel like a heffalump next to her.' I was very grateful but of course my dear friend shouldn't have had to denigrate herself either Sad

Weaponsgradeplum · 15/07/2019 16:05

Oh I later wrote her an email about something unrelated but did mention the inappropriate question, she apologized profusely and said 'me and my big mouth' most of the people who've ever commented never meant to be hurtful I truly believe that, they just don't think before they speak.

AwdBovril · 15/07/2019 16:23

She is just slim. She clearly eats well & probably takes a fair bit of exercise - she has clear skin, good muscle tone & healthy hair. She's had three children. These things don't happen if a person is unhealthily underweight.

I have been very slim, nearly as slim as her, however it was through illness - I was in too much pain to eat. The fact that I was not eating enough was really bloody obvious. I looked ill, grey and had dull skin, with sunken cheeks & eyes, & I was thin in all the unflattering places.

poopypants · 15/07/2019 16:25

SoupDragon Yes, she was a size 12 when she was a teen and at uni...and if I could figure out how to attach pictures, I would show you!

ItIsWhatItIsInnit · 15/07/2019 16:26

she has clear skin, good muscle tone & healthy hair.

Money can buy you nice skin and healthy hair even if you're very underweight. Look at Victoria Beckham, Natalia Dyer, etc

Eliza9919 · 15/07/2019 16:41

@SemperIdem
I've seen those articles on pinterest. I assumed they were alluding to her being bulimic.

I also think she looks far, far, too thin. She's naturally slim but she's bone skinny now. She looks better with a little bit more weight on her. He face is drawn and sometimes pinched looking now.

Which is a shame, you would have thought shit would have changed since the Diana days.

Of course she is "military" about what she is eating, so is Victoria Beckham. When you are in the public eye and there are articles about a plaster on your finger hmm, there's pressure...

Messed up my quote there.

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 15/07/2019 16:50

I still think there's a massive gap between anorexia and being careful with what you eat! Especially when you are invited to all sorts of events, with buffets and it's easy to over-indulge in the canapes.

No one has pretended that Kate is likely to be stuffing her face with Krispy Kremes and crisps all day. But then , no one should.

SoupDragon · 15/07/2019 16:51

Yes, she was a size 12 when she was a teen and at uni.

She isn't a size 12 in that see through net dress at uni. No way earth.

OooErMissus · 15/07/2019 16:52

Yes, she was a size 12 when she was a teen and at uni...and if I could figure out how to attach pictures, I would show you!

The pics have been posted a couple of times upthread.

How do you know she was a size 12 - how can anyone?! Have you seen her clothing labels?

Everyone's absolutely certain of her size, both now and back then.

I'm two centimetres taller than her and I'm a size 12. Her uni photos are much slimmer than me.

SoupDragon · 15/07/2019 16:54

8-10. Not 12.

OooErMissus · 15/07/2019 16:55

No way is she a 12...

herculepoirot2 · 15/07/2019 16:56

Isn’t she lovely.

SoupDragon · 15/07/2019 16:57

crispysausagerolls · 15/07/2019 17:14

Speak for yourself. You are clearly not well travelled

80% of women in this country are overweight. And the quote of mine you took out of context which said women must be fat if a slim woman like Kate Middleton is such an enigma that they can’t believe anyone is the same size... I stand by that. If size 6-8 is actually unbelievable for some, what does that say to you?

crispysausagerolls · 15/07/2019 17:14

SoupDragon

She is clearly slim in those photos you’ve posted!

Benjispruce · 15/07/2019 17:18

She's not a 6-8 though. More like a 0.

HolyFuckballsBatman · 15/07/2019 17:23

@Benjispruce Agreed. But even if she was a 0, there is nothing wrong with that.

crispysausagerolls · 15/07/2019 17:27

Since when is 0 a UK clothing size?!

Benjispruce · 15/07/2019 17:34

No there isn't but she is quite thin and not just slim. Definitely not a 12 as someone said upthread, even at uni! Does it matter if it's not aUK size? I think it's a 4 over here isn't it?
My DD15 is a 6-8 and is not as thin as Kate.
