Totally superficial I know but I think she looks absolutely fantastic.

This thread has taken a strange turn.

SerenDippitty · 14/07/2019 20:48

*That said, one of my friends is really tall and naturally underweight. She’s got a catwalk model body. She eats loads but was struggling to keep her weight stable when breastfeedingand was getting too thin. So people like this so naturally exist. I am very

Funny how you can be naturally underweight but no one accepts you can be naturally overweight.

I always thought Diana looked a healthy weight despite the bulimia - but Kate looks underweight to me.

poopypants · 14/07/2019 20:50

She's not 'naturally incredibly slim'. A cursory glance through google images show that as an older teen and early 20 something, she was normal slim, athletic 5'10 size 12 type slim. She is abnormally skinny now and that is due to obsessively not eating. How do I know? It's obvious. A healthy slim 20 something doesn't become a scrawny thin 30 something without drastically cutting calories. She has the waist of a 14 year old.

SerenDippitty · 14/07/2019 20:52

Sorry bold and quote failure.

StrangeLookingParasite · 14/07/2019 20:52

I'd love to have a figure like hers. Unfortunately the fact that I'm a greedy, lazy fucker prevents that

Heh, I hear you.
I've always said that if by some freak I became extremely wealthy, I'd hire a chef. Having someone else to basically make me eat properly would be such a pleasure.

And for Thump Flowers, well done for climbing back out. I know what that feels like.

HolyFuckballsBatman · 14/07/2019 20:57

@poopypants Why would you infantilise her? Waist of a 14 year old?
No. Waist of a 30 something woman who just happens to be that size.

That's another thing that annoys me. A slim woman doesn't = childlike. It just = slim woman.

LoafofSellotape · 14/07/2019 20:58

poopypants I agree

PCohle · 14/07/2019 20:59

A healthy slim 20 something doesn't become a scrawny thin 30 something without drastically cutting calories.

Why do people always say this about her? I was the heaviest I've ever been at university, as were a number of my friends. It doesn't mean my current smaller (even after 3 kids) figure is the result of anything drastic. I just stopped boozing and eating cheesy chips once I graduated. Grin

ReganSomerset · 14/07/2019 20:59

Yes, YABU.

HolyFuckballsBatman · 14/07/2019 21:00

@31RueCambon I never said my personal body size was the norm.
I was just stating that I'm a perfectly healthy woman with small proportions - those of which I do not diet, restrict or obsess over food to be at.

It is possible to be a healthy, slim woman was my point.

SemperIdem · 14/07/2019 21:04

I do think people might be quite a way out when guessing her weight, insofar as saying it must be way below 9 stone.

9 stone looks slim on the average 5’6 woman, especially if toned. On a 5’9 toned woman it would look even more slender.

HolyFuckballsBatman · 14/07/2019 21:04

@RedDogsBeg couldn't agree more.
A slim woman is a target for vicious remarks/insults for some strange reason.
Even if the woman eats perfectly normally and leads a healthy life.

Imagine if the tables were turned...
'God, she looks so fat. She could do with losing some weight. She looks disgusting.'

Or 'What does she eat to be that size?!' 'The whole of Asda by the looks of it hahaha'

There'd be uproar.

crispysausagerolls · 14/07/2019 21:04

Isn’t she on the Dukan diet?
I think she is slim, but I think she looks healthily slim. Her hips are very narrow too, which makes her seem even more waif-like.

SemperIdem · 14/07/2019 21:07

I do know very slender women in real life. One is a doctor, looks like a supermodel, speaks a few languages too so is generally one of life’s over achievers Grin

She’s a friend of a friend really so would think it odd if I asked her personally for tips. She has talked about being shamed about being so slim a few times.

All of the very slender women I know like salads. Not 3 lettuce and slice of cucumber ones. I need to up my salad game!

I see very young women in their teens who are as thin as her

Nah. I'm 5'8 and have spent most of my adult life between 9st0 and 9st5, which is a size 10.

Even with the extra inch or two of height, KM is currently at least a stone lighter than that.

WhiteDust · 14/07/2019 21:17

1 grape, 2 lettuce leaves and an almond.

I know I shouldn't laugh Grin

She's lovely looking but wasn't as smiley as usual at Wimbledon today.

SemperIdem · 14/07/2019 21:32

@RubberTreePlant interesting! I guess it’s body types and how you physically carry weight too. At 9st I am an 8/10 in Topshop and H&M (I mention those because we all know they cut more realistically close to the size they claim to be than a fair few other high street brands) but am 5’6 (and a half!).

I am not currently that weight and suspect given the boobs having a baby gave me and never went away, I’d need to be another half stone lighter again now. It’s why I started the thread. For some motivation to get back on track looking the best I can but healthily. I’ve been having a rough time lately and today was the first day in a long time I felt positive and motivated. Still wish I’d titled this thread differently, a lot of the strangeness probably wouldn’t have happened. Did get some great tips though Smile

Lol. She was never a size 12.

She is not scrawny. You are, however, rude and thin shaming.

She has the waist of a 14 year old.

No she doesn't.

HarryDaylight · 14/07/2019 21:46

I have noticed that she puts on the high beam show biz smile much more than she used to. I hope that she is ok. It must be a huge strain to always be camera ready.

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 14/07/2019 21:55

waterallday
@RubberTreePlant Ohhh I think she meant that now the bullies that bullied me may potentially be jealous of my body now?

yes, that's exactly what I meant Smile

bullying someone because they are skinny is out of order, but seems more acceptable than making fun of an overweight person. It shouldn't.

AllOuttaIdeas · 14/07/2019 22:09

@joyfullittlehippo I have also seen Kate in real life, and agree she is super tiny, and yes, definitely smaller than a size 6. In the flesh, she did look scarily tiny, and not 'strong, toned and healthy' at all. I was pretty shocked, and did wonder if the pressures of being so scrutinised (in threads like these!) had got to her, poor thing. That was about 3 years ago though, so perhaps she is a healthier size now, I don't know.

Alwayscheerful · 14/07/2019 22:33

Kate was curvier pre marriage.

She wasn’t much bigger though - maybe a dress size. If we are honest, I think a lot of us, if given the chance, would like to shave off the love handles or wobbly arm bits etc. She has been in a lucky position to have the means and time to do just that - and why not? I think she looks incredible. She just looks like she’s slimmed down slightly and toned up. There’s a bit of chubbiness which comes with youth anyway.

DinoEggz · 14/07/2019 22:37

She’ll have a chef, a personal trainer and a home gym. Plus she has nannies and doesn’t have to work, so she’ll have loads of time to exercise and none of the stress that makes the rest of us reach for a chocolate biscuit.
