Following on from a thread where OP doesn't like wind turbines.

For me I can't stand walking past high buildings. I get so dizzy and frightened!

Almost passed out once as a child walking past Blackpool Tower..

Lift doors. I’m fine once in/out of the lift.

Spiral staircases in castles.

cato75 · 14/07/2019 21:35

Corn on the cob. I'm fine with loose sweet corn from a tin but the thought of them all attached to the cob makes me shudder.

jonesyyy · 14/07/2019 21:36

YY to clowns although not a strange phobia. Think this stems from a bad experience at the circus as a child

Oh god, a few years ago I broke part of my spine. I had a meeting, and sat through it in agony, only for my boss to need me to hold the lift doors. It didn't sense that I was between them, and it struck me directly in the spine, damaging it further. Agony. I run in and out of lifts now and flinch every time. This thread is giving me shivers Blush

Historical re-enactments.

jonesyyy · 14/07/2019 22:04

@AlessandraAsteriti Intetesting one. Why? Perhaps it's linked to a past life!

OP posts:
AlessandraAsteriti · 14/07/2019 22:13

Ha ha, I have no idea, but I went to this medieval village thing in Essex once and it spooked me out.
Also I cannot stand people whispering, and the skin of pears, and I am terrified of heights. And slippy surfaces. And speed. And people touching my head. Oh god, I better stop!

LovinglyLiberal · 14/07/2019 22:19

Ducks of these colours. I was actually dry heaving getting the photos off of Google! I can't look at them without feeling physically sick 🤮

Oh gosh and there they are again 🤮

Laineypopps · 14/07/2019 22:21

@nicannie me too! I can't even clean a plate that has it on it. I despise the stuff. If I got a bit on my finger, I would freak out! Bleurgh!!!!!

OneFootintheRave · 14/07/2019 22:22

Dams and empty swimming pools.

Chescascurious · 14/07/2019 22:23

@ohhdearyme yes!! I can't stand them!! I am okay if I see pictures of them , though I still find them ugly and quite creepy. In person - nope. I completely freak out - crying, cowering away, etc. No idea why 😂

Longlostperson · 14/07/2019 22:23

Holes Sad

bugeyedbarber · 14/07/2019 22:34

Moths. The ones that turn up at night. Cannot deal with the buggers. The powdery wings make me shudder and break out in sweat. I'll chase it and kill it. Never with my hand though. I fear them irrationally ever since I was a child and one fluttered around my face at night and I was convinced it flew in my mouth. It didn't. It was a feather from a pillow Grin but the disgust and horror remains.

LittleCandle · 14/07/2019 22:36

I hate people, including myself, at my mouth and throat, which means I am hideously dental-phobic and always have been. It was exacerbated by having my thyroid removed in two operations and then months of injections into the scar and years of the surgeon squeezing my neck on check ups. I did once vomit onto the unsuspecting medical student, who was asked to examine me after the surgeon had done so. All done on purpose by the surgeon to reinforce what the student had been told in lectures and on rounds and had scoffed at. I do clean my teeth and wash and moisturise my throat, but have to think of other things whilst doing so.

I cringe when fork tines get meshed together. Slugs give me the boak!

ImNotReallyAWaitress · 14/07/2019 22:37

Going down escalators (and up if it’s a very long one like the ones at Heathrow T5 that go over a few floors)

Tripped on one a while ago and ever since I’ve not been able to make myself go down them, like I can’t get the hand eye feet coordination right :-/

PutYourShirtOnMartin · 14/07/2019 22:43

Wind turbines here too

And electricity pylons...

Todaythiscouldbe · 14/07/2019 22:46

People dressed up, I once freaked out in a kiddie Halloween maze thing, to the amusement of my then 4 year old. I was running away from people dressed up and hyperventilating.
The tendons in your neck, at the back of your knee, ankle and inside of your elbow make me heave too

VampirateQueen · 14/07/2019 22:50

I have a few phobia's/fears.
Spiders
The dark
Thunder storms
Needles
And wardrobes at night time.

VampirateQueen · 14/07/2019 22:51

Oh and people dressed up in costumes like at Disney land. They freak me out. I am trying to get better with that one, I also don't like trains.

Sparklesocks · 14/07/2019 22:54

I hate ventriloquist dummies and ‘uncanny’ realistic dolls. A normal doll is fine, but china ones with realistic faces really freak me out.

I stayed at a friend’s recently who had an antique doll sitting on a chair at the end of the guest bed, i had to ask if she would take it out as I couldn’t sleep with it looking at me - it felt like a scene from poltergeist!

marciagetscreamed · 14/07/2019 22:56

My ex BIL was terrified, absolutely terrified, of tomato ketchup and satsumas.

HappyLoneParentDay · 14/07/2019 23:00

Omg I came on here to say Wind Turbines and saw them mentioned in the OP! Ha! What is the thread you're following on from please op @jonesyyy ?

usernameee · 14/07/2019 23:01

The bottom of the banana😰

usernameee · 14/07/2019 23:02

And the dentist, slugs, worms and snails
