One of life's simple pleasures.

Love it with butter and prawns, or chopped tomatoes.

Jeremybearimybaby · 13/07/2019 19:00

Coeliac here. So, errr, yeah, I'm gonna go with nope!!! Grin

Quintella · 13/07/2019 19:00

Can't stand potatoes

I cannot compute this sentence.

serenadoundy · 13/07/2019 19:01

I can't understand how anyone can live without pasta, I eat it several times a week

I haven't eaten pasta for years!!

OpportunityKnocks · 13/07/2019 19:01

Yanbu. It's on a par with potatoes and rice.

ghostofharrenhal · 13/07/2019 19:01

My favourite pasta is De Cecco. I wait until Sainsbo's have it on offer then buy it in bulk.

ghostofharrenhal · 13/07/2019 19:02

But..but...what do you eat @serenadoundy?!

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 13/07/2019 19:04

God my kids would eat pasta for every meal if I let them. So I guess from their perspective YANBU 🤷🏻‍♀️

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 13/07/2019 19:04

Can’t stand carb food, yabu

nokidshere · 13/07/2019 19:04

Yabu it's only 19p in aldi

Mrbay · 13/07/2019 19:04

I love the stuff!

Different pasta has different tastes and yes I can eat some types plain.

nokidshere · 13/07/2019 19:05

I hate the stuff but my teenagers would live on it

afrikat · 13/07/2019 19:08

I can't eat pasta anymore and miss it soooooo much. It's so yummy and so versatile.

StealthPolarBear · 13/07/2019 19:09

Pasta is my comfort food and would be my last meal on death row (with red wine and chocolate).
Bertiebotts I used to like you but we can never be friends, disagreeing as we do on such a fundamental issue

Lipz · 13/07/2019 19:09

OMG I'd eat pasta for every meal and at snack times too:) pasta is the work of God's.

ghostofharrenhal · 13/07/2019 19:10

For anyone who likes Italian food, I recommend this book, it is awesome and I have made so many delicious things from it:

Stamz · 13/07/2019 19:12

All I could think of when I got diagnosed with coeliac is omg no more pasta SadGrin I loved it, at uni I used to have pasta and hp brown sauce for breakfast Grin
I use red lentil pasta as a substitute but it doesn't compare.

Babdoc · 13/07/2019 19:16

I’m puzzled by the number of pasta fans on here! It’s basically flour and water, with damn all nutritional value and no taste at all. It’s Jersey Royal and Ayrshire potato season at the moment - they’re both gorgeous, why would I swap them for pasta?
And whole grain Basmati rice - so fragrant and full of B vitamins and fibre - far preferable to boring bland pasta!

JoyceDivision · 13/07/2019 19:18

Fry chillies and chunks of chorizo in a bit of olive oil

Sling a carton of passatta in

The a massive blob of bourdon cheese so it melts in

Lots of pasta and grated parmesan on top

I am a piglet Blush

Camomila · 13/07/2019 19:20

I love pasta (am Italian!) but haven't been able to eat it all pregnancy as it makes me through up atm.

50p pasta is fine, DM purposely buys Asda smart price pasta as its not too 'smooth' like some of the more expensive ones.

Liverbird77 · 13/07/2019 19:21

@loladisco love a pasta mountain. Spaghetti and pesto is my fave. My dh doesn't care for it so every time he has to travel with work, it's my go to dinner. Just yum.

ghostofharrenhal · 13/07/2019 19:29

Because frutti di mare is just not the same if you eat it with spuds!

SkydivingKittyCat · 13/07/2019 19:40

I've had a D&V bug (cheers DC Hmm ) and haven't eaten for 2 days. Now I want pasta. Wonder if I have anything rather bland I could put on some

SilverySurfer · 13/07/2019 20:13

Anotherusefulname thank you! I thought I was alone in the world for hating the horrible stuff. Whenever anyone talks about recipes on here, it's always bloody pasta. Potatoes on the other hand - are the food of the gods - so yummy and versatile and you don't have to pile half a ton of sauce on them to enjoy - a baked potato with butter and black pepper is a thing of wonder Grin

MaxwellMouse · 13/07/2019 21:28

@ghostofharrenhal I love potatoes too!
