Do you all think that 100 pound is enough

So basically after ALL bills including food, petrol, daughter's hobby, I have one hundred pound to live off... Per week... Single mother off two, one 8 year old and a baby.
What do u guys think.

£100 a week after everything, including Christmas and holidays, yes it's plenty. I mean if everything is covered, what's the £100 for?

boiseidaho · 08/07/2019 22:53

I think that's a perfectly adequate amount to live on. Of course you could easily run out of spends if you attended multiple paid-for classes for the children per week, ate out more than once/twice, or had a major shopping habit, but £100 can cover a decent amount, especially with children who aren't off doing their own things (with spending money!).

katewhinesalot · 08/07/2019 22:53

So why ask the question?

HappyDinosaur · 08/07/2019 22:54

If it's per week then £100 should be plenty to have left after everything else!

WoofWoofMooWoof · 08/07/2019 22:54

I had £9 to live off last week, with two young DC. I'd live like a queen on £100/week!

FluffyTabbycat · 08/07/2019 22:55

@blacksax maybe you could piss off.

I'm just asking the question for opinions
Nothing more nothing less

@blacksax. Don’t be a twat.
@FluffyTabbycat it sounds like you’re very good at budgeting.

Umm I don’t know know. Is £100 a week enough for new clothes and meals out op ?

Flowers Hmm

sleepingbelvi · 08/07/2019 22:58

Maybe you could spend some of it on an English language course.

Jesus, that's bitchy!

Gardai · 08/07/2019 22:58

Is it not pounds (not ‘pound’) ?
Have I got that wrong ?
Disclaimer - I’m pedantic

TheRedBarrows · 08/07/2019 23:01

As ‘disposable ‘ income that is loads, BUT in your other budgeting
have you allowed for
Insurance
MOT and service
Saving for Christmas
Fund for new fridge / washing machine etc
Saving for holiday or days out
Clothes, new shoes for Dd.

I think you need to save at least £100 pcm.

HiItsClemFandango · 08/07/2019 23:02

It sounds like you budget really well.

I think that's definitely a lot of money to live on every week after everything else is paid for but then I have about £10 a week after rent and bills so it seems loads to me!

If you have £100 left each week you could get yourself some new clothes! Or get your hair cut every few months

DerelictWreck · 08/07/2019 23:02

The what are you spending that £400 a month on if all bills, food and holidays are covered + you cut your own hair and live in primark leggings?

FluffyTabbycat · 08/07/2019 23:04

I can't express how much I couldn't give a flying fuck about my English language skills ( before anyone starts,, yes I do encourage and care completely about my daughter's learning!)
I came on here only to do advice on all of your thoughts on what yous think
Thank u guys who have gave me your opinions with out being bitchy about it
Those who haven't ... I don't really care Grin

Nasty

feelingverylazytoday · 08/07/2019 23:06

Of course it's plenty, why wouldn't it be? I have to pay for food and electric out of that amount, for two adults, and we do fine.

Marnie76 · 08/07/2019 23:06

Sorry that was for blacksax

FoxSquadKitten · 08/07/2019 23:06

Of course £100 a week is a very nice amount of pocket money.

You're something...

FluffyTabbycat · 08/07/2019 23:11

Thanks your comments are really helpful
Yes your right I should be putting money away for things that I need to replace if they brake down, or money away for my mot....
I'm lucky that I don't need to pay for childcare my mum watches baby while I work part time but I would also like to give her a little something for helping me each week so there's that aswell.
I haven't got any savings so I suppose I've been irresponsible not putting a little bit away each week for my girls future

You should get some life insurance written in trust, but make sure it pays out on diagnoses of a terminal illness. Get a Will written to be clear on what happens on your death.

I say this not to be macabre, merely to be realistic given you have gone great lengths to otherwise manage your money.

Blacksax is a cunt by the way. Can’t believe the more generous comments I’m reading.

likeafishneedsabike · 08/07/2019 23:16

What is this business of using literacy to belittle others? If you want something well written, I am your woman. If you want something handmade or fixed, look elsewhere. We all have talents, and language skills don’t trump other skills or hold a special status.
OP your dyslexia doesn’t seem to have held you back in budgeting and life sorting.
