My life has been changed!

To tell you about my new powderbrows....

This thread is honestly I think the first MN thread I've ever genuinely laughed hysterically out loud whilst reading. Grin

Myheartbelongsto · 06/07/2019 16:31

@vladmirspoutine - get yourself over to classics for a real howl!

OP posts:
Myheartbelongsto · 06/07/2019 16:32

@puppy23 - i agree. I can't get into contouring, highlighter and all that jazz though.

OP posts:
ChairNTable · 06/07/2019 16:38

....... I doubt it.

Why did you come on here to advertise your eyebrows, not actually bother showing them and just posting a picture of someone elses that you say are different from yours anyway?

Myheartbelongsto · 06/07/2019 16:44

I'm not advertising anything..........

OP posts:
ChairNTable · 06/07/2019 16:45

............

Yeah ok Hmm

Myheartbelongsto · 06/07/2019 16:46

how am i?

show me my advertisement.

i'm not even in the same country as the majority of posters here.

OP posts:
GruciusMalfoy · 06/07/2019 16:50

They're just a bit too "done" for me. I'd feel like I always had to have makeup on so that I wouldn't be walking about with my normal pale face, tired eyes, but these clearly made up/"enhanced" eyebrows. Too much effort Grin

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 06/07/2019 16:50

I don't understand why you've put a pic of someone else. Genuinely not trying to be nasty, I just don't get why you'd say 'my brows are amazing!' and then put up a pic that's not of you.

Wellhellothere101 · 06/07/2019 16:52

What's powderbrows? Is it micro blading?

Myheartbelongsto · 06/07/2019 16:54

mine are a bit scabby now zelda that's all.

might put people off getting them done id they see them all manky but think this pic did the job for me :)

OP posts:
Myheartbelongsto · 06/07/2019 16:55

no, not microblading, think that's more the individual hairs.

OP posts:
MeepMeepMoop · 06/07/2019 17:01

Lol OP this reminds me of the time I dared post a progress pic of my hair! I stated very clearly it was a progress pic and I was going back for another appointment...well it bought the bitch out in so many people! My poor hairdresser and hair were slated!

The worst part was when I updated the post after the next appointment (where my hair looked bloody amazing), only about 5 people responded! I guess people don't like to comment if something is nice!

The brows aren't my style but I think they are nicer than the thin/sparse brows many of us sport after over plucking in the 90s. I have a stronger brow myself nowadays but I shade it in etc myself. I did go through a phase of HD and they do fade out nicely.

I love groomed brows, I wear much less make up as a result!

GruciusMalfoy · 06/07/2019 17:02

So what is 'powderbrow' they look slightly blurry around the top part, is that the aim? I've seen microbladed brows, and they're also too obviously tattooed on for my tastes.

TheFaerieQueene · 06/07/2019 17:05

Each to their own.

I personally think a natural look is much more attractive, but that is just an opinion.

pilates · 06/07/2019 17:10

Not to my taste but glad you are chuffed with them 👍

I prefer a natural look but I’m probably a different generation to you.

Myheartbelongsto · 06/07/2019 17:12

@MeepMeepMoop - I think a few of them have popped up on my thread too :) Women are strange sometimes.

@GruciusMalfoy yes powdered means the edges are not harsh. I agree microblading can sometimes look a bit harsh.

OP posts:
motorcyclenumptiness · 06/07/2019 17:12

there are some real dicks on this thread
I think they're meant to be eyebrows

Myheartbelongsto · 06/07/2019 17:14

@pilates - we could be in the same generation who knows! Most of my generation are getting lip fillers and botox which I think looks ridiculous so not taking the comments to heart too much.

OP posts:
Myheartbelongsto · 06/07/2019 17:16

@motorcyclenumptiness - well at least their thick wink wink

OP posts:
Mischone · 06/07/2019 17:35

I really like them, lots of people do (just not on mumsnet) Grin

There are some really mean comments on here and I don't think there's any need.

flamed12 · 06/07/2019 17:39

I like them OP.

Myheartbelongsto · 06/07/2019 17:45

Thanks you @Mischone and @flamed12, I really expected nothing less so you could say that Mumsnet has lived up to my expectations.

It is quite sad that there were so many nasty comments, posters could have said not for me or whatever but the nasty comments were worse than my eyebrows.....if that could be possible.

Imagine seeing those comments to your children on their social media apps from others, you would call it bullying ......maybe.

We are all different and like different things and I for one like to celebrate this. I like to lift others up and make them feel good about themselves.

OP posts:
motorcyclenumptiness · 06/07/2019 18:17

I'm not a big fan of dramatic brows but I do like them to be well-manicured - it makes the rest of my face look tidy

ScaryBunnyPainting · 06/07/2019 18:53

A woman posted a lovely dress earlier and some said it was 80's 90's mish mash
But what’s wrong with that. There’s a difference between someone being nasty and someone disagreeing.
