To think you don't buy someone chocolate for their birthday then try to eat it?!

I know this is really a non issue but it's my birthday. One of the presents my partner bought me was 2 bars of chocolate. He's just come up and tried to take one of the bars downstairs (I've just come up to watch tv as im 31 weeks pregnant and in a lot of pain so I'm just trying to get comfy).

All I said was "please don't take that!" He said "there's another bar!" So I said "can you take the other one instead as this one's my favourite". He's gone downstairs in a huff calling me ungrateful Confused

As I said I'm aware it's not a big issue (and yes I have many "real" problems to worry about) but come on! And going off in a huff is just deeply unattractive!

That really is controlling 😟 My ex used to do things like that when he was feeling resentful, then laugh and claim I was reading too much into it.

AverageMummy · 05/07/2019 10:25

What an idiot he’s being

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 05/07/2019 10:36

What an arsehole!

I vote for Sweets idea!

Oldraver · 05/07/2019 10:41

He stole your chocolate ? Is he still alive ?

EatingBreadAndHoney · 05/07/2019 10:44

I have coeliac disease and he'll eat my things first before he eats his so I'll end up with no treats and he has double

He's deliberately being a cunt then.

YouTheCat · 05/07/2019 10:46

Give it a couple of years and it'll be your child's Easter eggs that he's stealing. I couldn't be with someone so selfish.

Yes to this. None of this is accidental, he knows what he's doing.

Juells · 05/07/2019 10:54

(no wonder men don't like women talking together and sharing experiences)

Shoxfordian · 05/07/2019 10:55

He sounds really selfish

DecomposingComposers · 05/07/2019 10:59

Interested to know who the 3% are that think you're being unreasonable.

I think they're the people currently posting on another thread who think it's outrageous for any food or drink, no matter whether it was a present or belonging to one person in the house, should be for general consumption and that anyone objecting to it is weird.

Maitairiki · 05/07/2019 10:59

What a dick

HippyTrails · 05/07/2019 11:01

unless I was planning on eating it that night than it would be fine as long as he replaced it.

Peachesandcream14 · 05/07/2019 11:06

He sounds horribly selfish. The chocolate gift stealing is something my ex would have done. Make sure you have ample snacks in your hospital bag, my ex ate all of mine while I was in labour, I hadn't eaten all day due to HG and you know being in labour for 17 hours. I was crushed when there wasn't a single cereal bar left when I finally felt able to eat on the ward.

WaterOffaDucksCrack · 05/07/2019 11:07

YouTheCat we've got 2 kids already, he's never taken anything like that off the kids to be fair!

Peachesandcream14 that's awful! I had my mum there for the final 8 hours last time (38hr labour) and I'd like her to be there again...she can guard the snacks! I couldn't eat a thing last time and I was shaking with hunger after the adrenaline wore off! Luckily I had all kinds of treats packed for after!
