His body, his choice.

How would you react, if he insisted on you being hairy?

If you don’t like it, move on. Like a lot of things, bodily hair seems to really polarise opinion.

fakeniceperson · 02/07/2019 10:43

YABU to find it "feminine" as PP say.

Women have body hair. It's a very outdated and ridiculous view that women are these smooth skinned hairless creatures.

If you don't like what he does to himself then jog on and find someone else you do find attractive.

BarbedBloom · 02/07/2019 10:47

Wouldn't bother me, his body, his choice. But equally it is up to you what you are attracted to. I wouldn't necessarily consider it feminine though, a lot of men I know shave or wax now

Picklypickles · 02/07/2019 10:53

It would put me right off, I love a manly man who doesn't spend longer preening himself in the bathroom than I do!

Branleuse · 02/07/2019 10:55

its up to you whether you find it attractive or not, but I dont think it makes him feminine to shave any more than a woman that doesnt shave is masculine

Siameasy · 02/07/2019 10:59

Yanbu I wouldn’t like it and would find it a bit feminine yes.

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 02/07/2019 11:02

Dh shaved all his pubes off once and it really put me off yanbu

clockworklime · 02/07/2019 12:20

In germany men shave their legs

Yes and all men in France go "oh hee haw" and wear berets and strings of onions

TapasForTwo · 02/07/2019 12:25

It isn't the fact that he shaves, but that he is over invested in his appearance that would put me off. He sounds rather high maintenance.

Zaphodsotherhead · 02/07/2019 12:26

I bet he doesn't shave his entire body. How would he reach his back?

His body, it's entirely up to him. Maybe he hates the feeling of body hair?

BigChocFrenzy · 02/07/2019 12:26

I live in Germany and most men I see have hair on their legs

PurpleDaisies · 02/07/2019 12:26

It isn't the fact that he shaves, but that he is over invested in his appearance that would put me off

Where does it say that?

feelingverylazytoday · 02/07/2019 12:27

You can think whatever you like, it's still his body, his choice though.

TinselAngel · 02/07/2019 12:28

My ex did this. Speaking from experience, your DP might be a crossdresser.

BigChocFrenzy · 02/07/2019 12:29

There is no should / shouldn't about shaving

... except after reading an MN Classic thread, I hope he never tries to use Veet on his knob & balls Grin

His body, his choice
Your body, your choice

TapasForTwo · 02/07/2019 12:35

By implication Purple.
I hardly think that someone who doesn't care about their appearance would shave their entire body.

Magicpaintbrush · 02/07/2019 12:37

I'm with you OP - I would find that so off putting it would actually be a deal breaker for me. Yuck.

formerbabe · 02/07/2019 12:42

He can do what he wants with his own body.

Equally, you are free to feel the way you do and to not continue with the relationship for whatever reason, including this.

DifficultwithDogs · 02/07/2019 12:45

Do I'm a man, and after s 15 year hiatus I've started back at a gym

I've noticed a LOT of young men are hairless, everywhere. It's fine as a but if a surprise that there are more men body and bits shaving than I was aware of.

Even men older than me are hairless.

So I guess all the demands that women be hairless have filtered down to men

Jinglejanglefish · 02/07/2019 12:45

Well it's his choice but I wouldn't find it attractive so would make the choice not to date him

EBearhug · 02/07/2019 12:52

I was going to ask if he was a swimmer or a cyclist, but that's been answered. It is his choice, and it does seem to be the fashion.

At least he''s not like the cyclist I once knew, who shaved his legs up to where his cycling shorts were, leaving the top of his thighs unshaved. Like little hairy shorts. :-)

noonarna · 02/07/2019 12:57

It's not feminine, but you're allowed not to like it.

DieSchottin93 · 02/07/2019 13:46

Personally I prefer hairy men (love a good chest rug Grin) and I'm in my 20s so I find the lack of nice hairy men my age a bit sad lol. You would be a bit unreasonable to tell him what to do with his body hair though. You can express a preference but don't expect him to act on it.

VivienneHolt · 02/07/2019 13:48

I don’t know about it being feminine (women are not hairless...) but it’s fine if it’s not your thing.

Peitho · 02/07/2019 13:54

Would be a complete and utter turn off for me too.
