Following on from this -it was just getting interesting. Someone posted about how Meghan called herself a feminist but hadn’t earned the title. I was interested to know how you earned the title- but the thread ended.

So Harry and Meghan are still figuring it out?? Oh my... they should know what works for them as a couple and release documents to the world so we are all on the same page..

IABUQueen · 06/07/2019 16:15

Funnily, whether they stay as a royal couple or go on to have a private life is a decision almost entirely down to Harry and his family.

Meghan’s decision on the matter will only be about whether she stays in the marriage or not, and to make it work for her if she does stay.

Another reason why scrutiny about whether they should stay as royals or not should be directed entirely at Harry. And not much Meghan.

Maybe she wants flashy and he doesn’t?? Maybe she doesn’t want royalty and he does??

Maybe he promised he wants to leave royalty but is yet to follow through??

Too many maybes.. but I got an inkling that it’s very little to do with Meghan.

beanaseireann · 06/07/2019 16:35

I love the pictures released of the christening- so lovely to have Diana's sisters there.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 06/07/2019 16:37

Agree about the pictures. Meghan looks glowing.

SemperIdem · 06/07/2019 16:41

He’s cute.

GrimDamnFanjo · 06/07/2019 16:50

I'm a bit confused about this whole privacy thing now.
It's fair enough to decide to take a low key approach like Anne's kids have but unless their lives are very clearly marked out it's going to end up as the worst of everything.

If Harry really wanted privacy he could have insisted on a private wedding like Zara and Peter, he could have made alternative housing arrangements and could have decided to work outside Royalty for a living - eg the pair could run their Charity Foundation as jobs for example.
But we now seem to have Royalty on their terms which doesn't work.

Harry and Meghan have chosen a very difficult path to navigate.

derxa · 06/07/2019 16:56

Lovely christening picture but William looks as if he had a stick shoved up his arse. Archie is adorable.

SirVixofVixHall · 06/07/2019 17:07

I agree Grim.

BertrandRussell · 06/07/2019 17:14

Well, all I can say is that If I’d
paid Eton fees, I would expect my son not to wear a grey suit with brown shoes and black socks....

You have a point. Grin Harry's style choices have been a bit Confused recently.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/07/2019 17:24

Is it so easy to dump the blame completely on everyone who isn’t royal by blood??
And dismiss the entire context just to paint the royals are all perfect

Well yes; from the number of times it's happened I'd sat it IS pretty easy - especially for a family like this. And should anything unwelcome threaten to crawl into view, they can always insist on secrecy, with documents conveniently being sealed or whatever

IABUQueen · 06/07/2019 17:24

I think baby Archie is sooooo adorable I want to eat him.

And Meghan and Harry are looking adorable and settled.

MrsVanCleef · 06/07/2019 17:28

Archie is gorgeous. He's definitely going to have curly ginger hair. Looks like Meghan xx

DickieDonkey · 06/07/2019 17:30

The baby is seriously cute, he is definitely going to be a handsome kid.

So you wanted him to wear Tom Ford and something like Gucci shoes- and then we'd start reading complaints about how much they are spending on apparel.?!!

BertrandRussell · 06/07/2019 17:39

No. I just don’t want him wearing black socks and brown shoes with a grey suit. Still, I suppose it shows how frugal he is- he must have dispensed with his valet.

Love it Grin Grin

Seriously gorgeous baby, though, and nice to see Diana's sisters there too though it'll probably have Charles chewing the carpet

I thought that the private jet was being used by Amal Clooney and MM got a "lift" with her?

Whilst it may have been cheaper than paying for a flight, it did seem very OTT at a time when MM must have known that she was already unpopular.

I do feel that the Cambridge family is being somewhat shielded by the media who are very much out to get M&H. Do people honestly think that the other members of the family aren't enjoying luxury breaks all the time? We just don't hear about it as much as with MM.

JaimeBronde · 06/07/2019 18:20

What's wrong with taking a lift with your friends whether it be plane, train, car or bike?
I didn't consider it flashy for Meg to get a lift on Amal's plane. The plane was going there & Meg saved some money. So good on her!
Would it have been more worthy for Meg to have rowed across the Atlantic instead?

@IABUQueen I agree with your last 2 long posts as you write a lot of sense.

Now I'm off to look at the Christening photos.

BertrandRussell · 06/07/2019 18:24

I do think it rather proves the point- that Meghan is being criticised for her friends’ spending!

OP posts:
JaimeBronde · 06/07/2019 18:26

Exactly Bertrand

findingmyfeet12 · 06/07/2019 18:30

I think it's different for royals to be seen enjoying luxuries though Bertrand

It's ok for private citizens but royals need to be much more aware of PR and try not to ruffle the feathers of the tax payer too much.

My only gripe is that why don't we hear more about the other royals and the times when they stay with celeb and billionaire friends?

It's annoying that people assume the others are living frugally just because the tabloids have chosen not to make MM public enemy and not the others.

findingmyfeet12 · 06/07/2019 18:31

Maybe if we really had in-depth about all of their everyday lives we'd be a republic by now.
