To think you're all milling around in the middle of your living room to The Cure

There were numerous grumbles about Stormzy and even more about The Killers (did anyone see Jimmy Carr sweeping the stage?)

Complete radio silence about The Cure, though.

More sitting under a cat watching them tbh. I've enjoyed the ones I know, but there have been an awful lot I haven't heard of.

MsJudgemental · 30/06/2019 23:02

I don’t think the crowd know who they are. Noones’s singing along.

PickAChew · 30/06/2019 23:07

My nephew is at Glasto and his mum is too young to have been a fan.

I see lots of enthusiastic dancing. True fans wouldn't sing, if their life depended on it, anyhow.

I think they have been really good tonight..very atmospheric. The music has singing is spot on. They'll gain new fans that's for sure. Wish I was there!!

Fibbke · 30/06/2019 23:09

It's a great set. Im 50+ and loving it.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/06/2019 23:10

They're fantastic and his voice is just as good now as it always has been. Love them.

DisputedChair · 30/06/2019 23:10

Not well? He’s just been singing a long, energetic set without putting a foot wrong, vocally or musically...? I’d say he’s doing pretty well!

(Who are the guys in regimental uniforms and pith helmets who seem to have got lost on their way to the Last Night of the Proms?)

Sagradafamiliar · 30/06/2019 23:10

I love them! I'm 31 and remember everyone going through a The Cure phase when younger

Isthebigwomanhere · 30/06/2019 23:11

I loved the little VT before they came on, were it said before every Gig he phones his Wife Mary and she always ends the call with
"Sing Well "

PickAChew · 30/06/2019 23:14

Disputed looks like dome LARPers in the audience!

All the hits in the last half hour!

Honeyroar · 30/06/2019 23:19

I'm gutted I'm not in the uk to watch it. Hope it will be on YouTube.

What did they play?

RabbitseatDogs · 30/06/2019 23:20

I was wrangling kids to bed with one eye on it I one room and radio in kitchen. The radio sounded like them but with visuals on tv I was, initially, a bit saddened. But .... I think they've really hit their stride now. I'd love to be there.

Fibbke · 30/06/2019 23:21

Boys dont cry?
Charlotte sometimes?

PickAChew · 30/06/2019 23:21

Everything!

No love cats, yet, but still 10 minutes to go.

MrsBungle · 30/06/2019 23:21

I’m watching them now, sofa dancing.

PickAChew · 30/06/2019 23:22

Boys don't cry, now!

Supersimpkin · 30/06/2019 23:22

I started off determined not to be impressed, but just blown away. They are ludicrously good - that voice.

RabbitseatDogs · 30/06/2019 23:22

BOYS DON'T CRY!!!!!

PickAChew · 30/06/2019 23:23

Sofa dancing, myself. DS1 clocked me, earlier, and slammed his bedroom door shut!

The Cure are brilliant. I am really enjoying this set. I love Vampire Weekend and need to watch them on catch up. What day were they playing?

PickAChew · 30/06/2019 23:24

I tried to make a top 3 from the past few years, yesterday, and only came up with Radiohead and The Flaming Lios.

I now have 3.

I was a huge Cure fan. I've been watching and am now firmly of the opinion that no good ever comes of watching your teenage heros thirty years on. Pop stars should always be young and beautiful and a little bit edgy. Robert Smith hasn't really pulled it off this time around. And my God, there was a lot or dirgy whining in amongst the hits.
