Simon I am watching it on the BBC and the sound quality is awful. Her voice is drowned by the music.

IhaveALooBrush · 30/06/2019 18:49

I'm gutted I missed Glasto and therefore Cheryl Crow this year.
I saw her in 1997 at Glastonbury, I think she is still amazing.
I'm going to Glastonbury next year.
Without the kids though.

Fuck off OP.
People that think like you have no place at Glastonbury.

bordellosboheme · 30/06/2019 18:50

YABVU however at 42 I dunno if I'd have the energy and stamina to go these days!

PolkadotLollipop · 30/06/2019 18:50

This is my fave Kylie song.

PolkadotLollipop · 30/06/2019 18:52

Yes, Simon the vocals are awful, they keep fading in and out and the balance between the track and the vocals is WAYYYYY out of whack.

SimonJT · 30/06/2019 18:52

@TapasForTwo Clear as anything on site, but then so was FWB, but people were saying you could barely hear him on the TV.

ShinyMe · 30/06/2019 18:53

There are still people popping in who haven't read much of the thread clearly, just to say that yes it's all a bit tragic to go to things once you're OLD - although I notice none of them can explain what's so tragic about it, or what age is the cut off point.

I'm not particularly enjoying Kylie, I have to say. She seems like a nice lady, but it's not doing much for me.

Emmapeeler · 30/06/2019 18:56

The sound has defo been patchy. Seems a lot better now.

The tent people were very odd!

TapasForTwo · 30/06/2019 18:56

I went to my first music festival at 56 - Leeds festival Grin

PolkadotLollipop · 30/06/2019 18:56

DH is also a Kylie fan, @leckford. I doubt he could name a song though Hmm

I should think she’s teeny weeny in RL. About 5ft and 7st. Little pocket rocket

PolkadotLollipop · 30/06/2019 18:57

I like her engagement with the crowd. You can tell she’s been doing this a long time.

Craftycorvid · 30/06/2019 18:59

A long time ago I used to go out with a musician and therefore have done my fair share of gigs, plus a couple of festivals. Personally, I’m very happy that I can sit in the comfort of my own home with a nice cup of tea and watch Glasto’ on TV if I want to, rather than risking dysentery whilst surviving in a tent in a muddy field. I am geriatric by OP’s standards, I’m sure, but also very wedded to my creature comforts nowadays Grin

PinkieTuscadero · 30/06/2019 18:59

It's amazing how Kylie has spun such a long career out of not a whole lot of talent. I don't mean that in a snarky way as I do like her. But you'd never have guessed when she was bopping about with her bubble perm singing I Should Be So Lucky that she'd be a headline act at Glastonbury over 30 years later!

Craftycorvid · 30/06/2019 19:00

But no one should EVER rule themselves out of doing anything they want to because of some perception of ‘age appropriateness’.

PolkadotLollipop · 30/06/2019 19:01

Aww, she does seem like a geniunely nice woman who loves what she does.

God, I’d be sweating like a glass blower’s arse in that PVC boiler suit, though.

PinkieTuscadero · 30/06/2019 19:03

Good old Chris Martin, can always be depended upon to make any event 72% more boring.

ShinyMe · 30/06/2019 19:03

Sodding Chris Martin just can't keep away can he?

PolkadotLollipop · 30/06/2019 19:04

I know what you mean, Pinkie. She could’ve been another manufactured pop starlet chewed up and spat out by the cynical corporate machine but she turned it around and made it work for her. More power to her for that.

PinkieTuscadero · 30/06/2019 19:04

That girl is topless. I hope she put sunscreen on her nipples!

ShinyMe · 30/06/2019 19:04

Aw, that was a sweet shot of those big blokes in Cure t shirts bopping away to Can't Get You Out of My Head.

I'm looking forward to the Cure. Provided Chris Martin doesn't pop up for Lovecats, obvs.

SmellMySmellbow · 30/06/2019 19:04

Thing is, when you get to a 'certain age' you tend to stop giving two shits about what judgmental twats think about you and are more focused on enjoying life. Which includes watching live bands in the sunshine and seeing all the weird and wonderful things you can find at Glastonbury.

PolkadotLollipop · 30/06/2019 19:06

Chris Martin’s schoolboy dreams coming true with that little side eye glance to one of the band.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 30/06/2019 19:06

I swear Chris Martin would turn up for the opening of an envelope.

IhaveALooBrush · 30/06/2019 19:07

That girl is topless. I hope she put sunscreen on her nipples!

Oh God.
I thought the same.
I'm officially old.
But still want to be at glasto.

PolkadotLollipop · 30/06/2019 19:07

Who’s coming on for especially for you?
