And that it makes a little squeak when you finally get it out?

Yes and they're sly little buggers that curl just out of your eyesight!

FenellaVelour · 26/06/2019 22:50

My hobbies these days basically involve tweezing.
Daily chin tweezing. Then the next morning, ta-dah, more of the fuckers. If I can’t tweeze them immediately I’m distracted and keep poking and pulling at them until I can get them.

nutbrownhare15 · 26/06/2019 23:11

I have 4 coming out of my mole now after starting with 1 so watch out they can multiply.

EmeraldShamrock · 26/06/2019 23:18

Yanbu. They hurt too.
Spikey little shits.

Or do we all get it at a certain age?
Yes we do.
I am very fair. I get cheek and chin fluff not thick hair, except for the 3 sturdy black ones on my chin that require tweezers and leave me eye watering.
Never mind the 3 sturdy blacks ones who sprout from my right nipple, again my body hair is mainly fair, so thick black hairs spouting will happen to us all, unless you die young.

FieryBiscuits14 · 26/06/2019 23:18

I've found my mutha pluckin people.

The satisfaction of evicting one of the fuckers is almost worth the unsightliness . Almost.

EmeraldShamrock · 26/06/2019 23:23

If mine were dark I'd save to get lazer, my Dsis is very dark she has PCOS, she got lots of chin and chest hair, she spent hours plucking and shaving, she had lazer treatment a few years ago, they completely went.

Supersimpkin · 26/06/2019 23:28

I loathe the beautician's mantra 'chin hairs only look thick and dark because of regrowth'. Balls. Mine are offcuts of the suspension ropes on the Golden Gate Bridge.

StinkyWizleteets · 26/06/2019 23:30

I have cultivated a few moley hairs since turning 30. After turning 40 theyve gone feral. They literally pop out in the space of 20mins but seem to pop back in as soon as you get close with tweezers.

I have a moley hair on my top lip 😩 it grows overnight and it distracts me as I can see it waving at me, taunting me... wee bastard is actually white but thick and wirey. My tash is going grey.

EmeraldShamrock · 26/06/2019 23:30

Is it worth investing in an epilator for white dowdy facial hair.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 26/06/2019 23:36

I’ve only got one black chin hair so far but a couple have appeared near my nipple 🙈

EsmereldaWasRight · 26/06/2019 23:48

You lot want electrolyisis. Kills the cells that grows the fuckers so no more from that follicle. I've been plucking for 17 years, i hate them. The thick coarse ones are called terminal hairs and are bastards.
Pulling them out via tweezers/waxing/threading etc makes blood rush to the terminal hair follicle so that hair grows back stronger, and prompts neighbouring dormant follicles to wake up and start growing hairs. So treatment such as electrolysis is really the only way to be rid of them.
I've been having electrolysis for a year now and my hairs are much lighter and finer a d there are fewer if them. Maybe in another year they'll all be gone...
To the pp that mentioned sugar, Ive heard that excess hair growth due to pcos can be made worse by eating sugar. Also that laser treatment can make pcos hair worse.

CoolCarrie · 26/06/2019 23:57

Emerald the epilator will be fine for you as it pulls the hairs out like tweezers but a lot at a time., and works on all hair colours. It is sore at first, but gets better. Use it at night so your face recovers overnight

Mollypolly2610 · 27/06/2019 00:02

Reading this and touched my chin as I just did them the other day and have got another 2 now and they’re too short to rip out! Sad

Ticklingcheese · 27/06/2019 00:17

I guess whoever designed us, had a sence of humor and gave us poor eyesight and barb wire hairs at the same time. Just sorry not everybody has middle aged eyes and can actually see my beard.

OldAndWornOut · 27/06/2019 00:20

Its horrible when you unexpectedly feel a really long, spiky one, especially when you're out for the day/night.
Spend the rest of your time feeling it and trying to put it out with your fingers. Well, I do.

Meangirls36 · 27/06/2019 01:06

I shave my mates moustache in the loos the other day I couldn't look at it any more. Got one of those battery powered trimmers in pink pen size

FairfaxAikman · 27/06/2019 05:20

@girlandboy Braun SilkEpil 7 wet and dry.

Armpits are a small area and after laser treatment I don't have a lot of hair there as it's all migrated to my chin . I'm not brave enough to do my legs though.

Betsy86 · 27/06/2019 05:21

@73kittycat73 i have a flawless its great for those fine fluffy hairs! Ots not a razor its got a gold plated circular head pop a batttery in and jus move it in circular motions over your problem areas.
Cant feel a thing! The very first time i did it was sooooooo satisfying i thought mehh didnt feel anything nothing could of come off. Took the top off it to clean out the fluffS d it was full never realised i had so much facial fluffGrin

My extra thick chin hairs however i tend to pluck. I’ve got a terrible ingrown one at the moment that will not budge I’ve attacked it with tweezers to the point its sore but it just seems to dissapear back inside. Im trying to leave it alone and hope it heals and vanishes but its so annoying Angry

I’ve got quite bad dark marks on ny chin i guess from plucking and damaged skin, that iv been trying to get rid of but no joy any tips anyone? :( xx

meercat23 · 27/06/2019 09:46

Even after 2-3 years of electrolysis, (that sorted the upper lip dark hairs) and a home Lumea I still find the long wiry chin hairs appearing to say nothing of the pubes migrating down my thighs. I have found the only known benefit of chemo in that it seems to have stopped them in their tracks, at least for now. I suspect they will be back with a vengeance though.

girlandboy · 27/06/2019 10:30

@Betsy86 the Flawless IS a shaver though.

MargoLovebutter · 27/06/2019 12:07

My Braun epilator (which I also use on the rest of my entire body because I seem to have so much hair!!!!) works fine on my tash fluff and chin fluff. It will get the odd wirey chin pube but I find my trusty tweezers are better. I epilate my face about once a month, whereas I'll do a tweeze more often.

I also wax my nasal hairs. Trim the wax strips, talc the nasal hairs, shove the wax strip as best I can up my nose and wrench. It does make my eyes water but better than having little black hairs frothing out of my nostrils.

I wish it were fashionable to be hairy, because I'd be on the cover of Vogue if it were!

I have a 15 x magnification facial mirror which is ESSENTIAL IMO, as you can see everything properly.

73kittycat73 · 27/06/2019 14:22

Thank you so much for your reply @Betsy86. Smile I shall look into buying one then. Good luck with the ingrown hair, I hope you manage to oust it soon!

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 27/06/2019 15:04

Even after 2-3 years of electrolysis, (that sorted the upper lip dark hairs)

You're a better woman than I am meercat - my beautician tried to electrolyse an upper lip hair once and I told her to stop right there. Never again. Much too sore. Chin's not so bad for some reason, even though the hairs are so much thicker.

Does laser hurt as well? And what does Lumea do - I was wondering about it for those fine dark upper lip hairs. Is it a home laser gadget or what? The box is totally uninformative.

CoolCarrie · 27/06/2019 17:58

Laser is uncomfortable, not sore, imho using an epilator is sore.
Lumea thins the hair out and eventually stops it coming back. It works best on dark hair/ fair skin, and you can get them for use on face as well as body. It really is a life changer and I highly recommend it to anyone who is hairy like me! Look out for deals on amazon, at Boots, where you can get points and on the Phillips website.

ScottishDiblet · 27/06/2019 18:05

I have just been for my first electrolysis session for my chin hair! The lady thought laser would be better for my upper lip hair (moustache). I’m starting laser treatment after my holiday. My sister said electrolysis was the answer to her hair problems so I’m hoping the same will be true for me!
