And that it makes a little squeak when you finally get it out?

They're bastards
I find it therapeutic when I'm in a bad mood with DH or the DCs thoughts yank them out.
If I'm in a rush, I use one of the Veet wands.

AnthonyCrowley · 26/06/2019 07:06

I get little wiry cheek hairs rather than chin hairs. God, they can be hard to tweeze out. I can feel the little sharp bit sticking up but struggle to get it.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 26/06/2019 07:09

I've had them since my late teens. Had some rounds of electrolysis in my 30s which was pretty effective, again in my early 50s. They got extra bad just before menopause but disappeared altogether for a couple of years after my periods stopped, now starting to reappear but controllable with tweezers.

Never had a squeak though!

ArgyMargy · 26/06/2019 07:09

Tweezermans are worth every penny.

fuzzyduck1 · 26/06/2019 07:10

Just let them grow and be at peace whit your goaty

Corkchester · 26/06/2019 07:10

Some of mine are white, like sharp little bristles. Sad

I turned 30 too and BAM little black chin hairs.

I may have sent my husband to the shop at 10pm to buy some tweezers when I had a particularly annoying one last week.

pigglypug · 26/06/2019 07:13

Yep I've had the white ones too!

pigglypug · 26/06/2019 07:13

Like a PP said, it's something that started for me suddenly after I turned 30. Never had them before.

Pinktornado · 26/06/2019 07:17

I’ve not had the black wiry ones yet but from about 30 a single long blonde hair has periodically sprouted from my left jaw. I swear the bugger can grow from nothing to an inch in an hour and I ONLY seem to notice it after a special occasion/event, e.g. lunch with DP’s family, night out with colleagues. (Checking for that wee bastard now.)

I assume it’s just waiting its time to turn black and wiry.

NauseousMum · 26/06/2019 07:21

I have white ones and blsck ones. I swear the buggers burrow in. Theh are so coarse and sneaky.

LittleCandle · 26/06/2019 07:29

Its mostly white ones for me, and the hardest ones to pluck are the ones in the scar under my chin. I have one black on that grows like a moustache and have a single black eyebrow hair in the scanty eyebrows that I now have. In fact, I have just been doing a bit of plucking with out 10x magnifying mirror that shows them all in the cold light of day...

DragonTrainer3 · 26/06/2019 07:40

I've had them for many years but started using an IPL machine on them and they're not gone, but much much softer and smaller.

Have to admit it's been a revelation!

(Disclaimer - I'm nothing to do with any IPL company)

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/06/2019 07:43

They are the worst, especially when you can feel them coming through but they're too short to tweeze.

However, I've recently purchased a Lumea and it's done wonders on my upper lip after just one treatment. I'm keeping fingers crossed for the same results on my chin...

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/06/2019 07:45

Snap @DragonTrainer3. Even if it just slows down regrowth I'll be happy. Seems the bastards grow back within a week of being plucked atm!

SoConfused2019 · 26/06/2019 07:45

I can pluck all day long at home, think i've got them all out then ill get in my car, be driving along and check the mirror and see a few more Sad. this is why I keep tweezers in the car now for these moments.

I usually find a quiet place to park up and pluck some more with better light. you get so much more doing it this way.

NaturalBornWoman · 26/06/2019 07:47

Or do we all get it at a certain age? Please don't say it comes to all of us in time.

Yes it does. Sorry. I won't tell you what happens to your pubes, you'll be traumatised.

I think the chin hairs grow under the skin until they're at least an inch long, then when you're in the car and haven't got tweezers they pop out and start waving around.

Idontwanttotalk · 26/06/2019 07:58

No-oo-oo-oo!

I'm really worried about my pubes now.
How do I know it hasn't already happened? Please God, don't let them grow down to my knees.

Hastags · 26/06/2019 07:59

I’m a red head and I get thick BLACK chin hairs! This thread actually made me feel better, they started appearing a few years ago and I was worried I might be turning into a manConfused totally agree they just appear so quickly. I have this random story in my head that horrifies me - what if I ended up lost in a desert/jungle/island for a few days/weeks and then was found, I would literally have a beard. The chances are slim if course but imagine !

I need to take tweezers in my handbag, but I use that flawless battery operated machine which is great I think it’s called finish flawless. I’m always abit terrified when talking to people especially under lights I’m chatting away but inside thinking I hope my beard is trimmed and they aren’t staring at itBlush

Mac47 · 26/06/2019 08:03

I have a recurring fucker, in the middle of a bloody mole!!!! I'm like Nanny mcphee without the regressive loveliness.

VictoriaBun · 26/06/2019 08:04

They are not just strong hairs , they are whiskers !😝

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/06/2019 08:05

I really am evangelical about the Lumea now and all I'll say is that if you're going to get one then get it while the hairs are still dark. Once they turn grey it won't work and you'll be stuck plucking forever!

CigarsofthePharoahs · 26/06/2019 08:07

I have a lovely collection of chin and top lip hairs.
The most painful is the thick wiry bigger that has appeared on my cheek. Very difficult to remove, always painful and inevitably leaves a small hole.
The worst was an ingrown hair on my chin. Massive pimple and then over about a week I removed five hideous monsters from it. Took ages to heal up but hasn't recurred thankfully.

YoThePussy · 26/06/2019 08:11

The squeak is them screaming at being removed!

hellhasahancart · 26/06/2019 08:12

The absolute worst is not quite getting the hair but instead pulling the tweezers down the hair to create a lovely curly strand like your very own wrapped gift to yourself!
