Feel like crying as just got a glass stuck in my favourite mug

I was just filling the dishwasher when I realised someone left a glass in the kitchen sink on top of my favourite mug. It is now completely wedged inside the mug with about an inch of the glass sticking out of the top of it. I wouldn't normally be upset but I've had this particular mug for years and I always have my first morning tea in it! Has anyone any tips on getting the glass out of the mug without breaking the mug, I don't mind breaking the glass as it's not sentimental.

We used to get this every now and again at work (café, so lots of same sized cups).

Try putting it in a sink of water and just jiggling it around, if you can get even a tiny bit of water between the glass and mug it should break the seal, the water will help to make a space when you jiggle it round.

My favourite mug broke in January. It was a very dark day indeed. And I haven't found another mug like it since, nor probably ever will. I'm glad you were able to save yours...
