AIBU to ask you to help me name my ice cream business? 🍨

I'm on the cusp of starting to make and sell my own handmade ice cream at farmers markets etc and I'll be selling from a traditional style ice cream bike. I don't do 'standard' flavours, so you'd find flavours like Eton Mess, Peanut Butter & Caramel or Rhubarb Crumble, plus a vegan flavour / sorbet.

Recipes are developed and tested, kitchen is being modified to keep environmental health happy and the bike is awaiting delivery. But - I need a name for my business! Without it I can't set up my website etc...

I need something that suggests

• premium quality
• something that's a bit different to the norm
• possibly a hint at the environmental / zero waste ethos

I'm in Wales but I've been avoiding place related names as I want the option to expand in future, and I can't be certain that the business will always be bike-based so I've been avoiding explicitly bike-related names.

Possibly something like Creamery, The Scoop, The Project, The _ Ice Cream Co but I'm very open to suggestions! Help please hivemind...

I think Blankety Blank's Ices sounds good. Vintagey and premium. Covers all Ices and gives the feeling of the bike. I like names with 'Mrs' for a home made feel like Mrs Crimbles. Mrs (insert surname or first name)'s Ices eg. Mrs Barrie's Ices. If you have a great vintage name like Betty Crocker, all the better!! Or you could create a place like Nature Valley.

Not a suggestion, but be careful of using your own name, or a name that has sentimental associations, firstly it's a business and secondly if you sell for millions or it goes bump you might find that difficult.

I agree that you should avoid anything with cow or creamery etc if you are going to do vegan options, which is sensible.

I'd pick a charming name not related to you eg Harriet and just go with Harriet's Ices.

Or, if you want to emphasise the Welsh, Myfanwy's Ices.

OP, do you have any branding designed already? Some of these names are great but they might look better as foil on black rather than something a bit more high-end wackaging and vice versa.

Who is your ideal customer? What story do you want to convey with your branding?

Or what about Ice and Slice if you are doing cakes too. You could do things like gin and tonic sorbet.

Don't make it long, and don't make it a pun, pleease.
It will be more memorable if you call it something based on your name - say, for example, Sadie's.

Instead of Jones the Bootmaker, you could be Jones the Ice-cream Maker!

Or find an unusual but Welsh sounding name to be Mrs Edevane's Ices, or some such. Is there a famous Welsh character who would fit your brand image? Or a name you like which is quite Welsh. I like the name Gwenllian. Gwenllian's Ices.

In America, my family used to say something was "so good you could slap yo mama". Slap Yo Mama Ice Cream would pay homage to where you got the name!

My favourite is Buttercups, as it has the capacity to cover other products.

Only problem is the first two syllables don't make me want to think of food!
