Would you sleep with a celebrity because of their fame?

I got very excited the other day when I matched on Tinder with a celebrity who I’ve fancied for years (or his doppelgänger at least!) Grin I told my friends last night and one of them said ‘I bet you wouldn’t look twice if he wasn’t famous’.

She’s wrong, as he’s totally my physical type and I would go for him regardless. However, I will admit to swiping right for another celebrity on there once who I absolutely don’t fancy - I just wanted to see if he’d fancy me (he didn’t Blush!) Taking it further, a friend of mine used to model years back and had two celebrity hook-ups she now regrets - an actor and a singer. She admits if they’d been Joe Bloggs working on the bins they wouldn’t have stood a chance.

So would you do the deed just because they were famous - and because you could?

Mumsnet seems to have been invaded by teenagers.

No, I don't think I would. In my twenties I spent a lot of time in bars and clubs popular with players from a PL football team and many of them would use the "I'm a footballer" thing as a pickup line. No disrespect to the women who it worked on; if you want a one night stand I'm not here to judge, it just wasn't for me.

I have to really really fancy someone to sleep with them and I don't fancy very many people.

MashedSpud · 23/06/2019 08:56

No.

CherryPavlova · 23/06/2019 08:59

This isn’t real, is it?
You surely reserve sexual activity for someone you have a loving, hopefully committed, relationship with and with whom you’re prepared to deal with the consequences of a pregnancy with.

user1483387154 · 23/06/2019 09:03

no It's pathetic

StillCoughingandLaughing · 23/06/2019 09:03

What a pointlessly rude post. Much like most of the ones I see from you.

If that were true of everyone there would be no such thing as a one-night stand.

Maybe when I was younger depending on how good the story would have been.

No, that's what YOU do.

Why can't women enjoy sex for the sake of sex without involving love or romance. Sex and love are two completely different things! Not every sexual relationship has to be a romantic love story, this is the 20th century ffs!

starlessaeon · 23/06/2019 09:07

21st even!

PianoTuner567 · 23/06/2019 09:08

Tom Hardy, yes.

Boris Johnson, no.

starlessaeon · 23/06/2019 09:09

Yes I would definitely sleep with a celebrity if I was young and single and most importantly I fancied them and they fancied me. I wouldn't just sleep with them because they were famous, there would have to be physical attraction at least.

sonjadog · 23/06/2019 09:09

Yes, exactly. Women can have sex purely for the enjoyment of it. Love doesn't need to come into the equation.

To answer the OP, I would have to fancy him. It wouldn't be enough that he was famous.

InsertFunnyUsername · 23/06/2019 09:12

In my teens i will admit, probably. As in Cillian murphy yes, Boris No chance!

So the attraction would have to be there in the first place but there "celebrity status" prob would have swayed my younger self.

mouldyhousemouldylife · 23/06/2019 09:12

@CherryPavlova you must have lived a really sheltered life if you think everyone reserves sex for loved ones. Hmm

InsertFunnyUsername · 23/06/2019 09:14

The celebrity status*

RuffleCrow · 23/06/2019 09:15

No, only if i fancied the pants off him or her. Fame in itself isn't going to give me orgasms! Maybr some people are wired differently though.

mouldyhousemouldylife · 23/06/2019 09:15

To answer your question OP I would if they were attractive.

PregnantOnPurpose · 23/06/2019 09:17

Depends on the celeb, but most likely yes.

Bwekfusth · 23/06/2019 09:18

Only if it was a celebrity I really fancied.

jennymanara · 23/06/2019 09:27

No

OldUnit · 23/06/2019 09:39

I'd be more inclined NOT to sleep with someone if they were famous.

Except Guy Martin.

feelingverylazytoday · 23/06/2019 09:41

Only if I really fancied them, and they were nice. So for the same reasons I would sleep with anyone else really.

MAXnot73 · 23/06/2019 09:42

Nah. I have to actually like someone to have sex with them.
