Please help me.
Name changed, long time poster.

I have a chronic illness amongst other illnesses for which I take a number of medications, maybe 12?

I get my medications delivered to me on my repeat prescription by an online pharmacy.

Big box got delivered today.

I go down to my concierge (adjacent building) and collect my box of medications alongside another big box. I put these two boxes in a large recycling type bag that the concierge provided me with.

I have a few smaller parcels to collect from the other building (different concierge) this takes around 5 minutes.
Whilst I go to the other building, I leave the heavy bag holding the two boxes in the reception of my building (cctv, etc)

I return and both boxes have been stolen.

I am going out of my mind.

I tell the concierge who says I have to wait until Monday for the manager to view the cctv.
I am a single mother to 10mo dc. I am now getting really anxious and feeling a vomiting attack coming on.

I've called the police who say I have to wait 48 hours for their telephone investigating team to get in touch?

My concern is, not only do I need these medications but also by the time Monday comes these medications will be long gone (sold, taken?) and potentially so will the person who stole them.

What can I do?

I'm panicking.

I read it NoSauce.
The OP's wee one is 10 months old. There is a very big difference between the pharmacology of a drug in prems or neonates compared to older babies.
The OP has very sensibly decided to go with the advice of her medical team.

Yes but he’s not always been 10 months old. Unless the OP has only just started on this medication but then she says she has a chronic illness so I doubt it.

helpmem · 22/06/2019 08:00

@NoSauce
The thing is with comments from yourself and others, you don't genuinely care for the wellbeing of myself or my dc. It's just an opportunity for you to try and prove me wrong and feel better about yourself.

I've breastfed exclusively for 10 months, I have a chronic illness, I see professionals if you don't think I've had information given to me by the NHS professionals then that's your issue with your trust in the NHS.

I don't require advice on the risks and benefits of medication and breastfeeding from Internet strangers.

@yawning801 & @Cheby thank you! Their advice is irrelevant

Thanks everyone for your well wishing comments!
So my mum is helping me from afar by calling 111 back and asking to send it to a nearer pharmacy.
And my old midwife (whom I'm very good friends with now - spent majority of pregnancy in hospital) takes 2 of the medications so I'm thinking of texting her and asking her if she has like 1 or 2 spare and then I would start to feel a bit better and could go out and get them.

@Peterpiperpickedwrong I checked the recycling bins and normal bins. :(

The thing that I keep thinking of as well is that, there were two young men waiting for the lift, and their friend started banging down the fire exit and they opened it and let him in. This caused the fire alarms to sound really loudly and so I had to go and inform the concierge next door.
Then I noticed a security car patrolling with a dog unit.
Maybe I'm over thinking it, but maybe they set the alarm off on purpose to distract me so they could take the boxes? Strange either way

NoSauce, but he's 10 months old now and won't be a neonate ever again. The inclusion of breast feeding advice based on drug kinetics which don't apply to OP's baby isn't at all relevant.

LIZS · 22/06/2019 08:36

Did he accidentally put it in recycling? It would be unprofessional of mw to let you have her meds, please don't put her in that position.

Totur · 22/06/2019 08:50

Can we all work on the assumption that a GP is not going to prescribe drugs not compatible with breastfeeding to a breastfeeding woman? Assuming the OP doesn't live in a vacuum.........

Deadposhtory · 22/06/2019 09:17

Be warned if you call 101 for emergency script you may sent to a pharmacy miles away. I was. Satnav broke down halfway there and we had to turn back. Total nightmare

Deadposhtory · 22/06/2019 09:19

I feel your pain op. Good luck and keep us posted

Rowennaravenclaw · 22/06/2019 11:06

How you doing op?

BonnieBelleStarr · 22/06/2019 11:26

I hope you resolve your medication issues op. Please let us know how it goes

Schuyler · 22/06/2019 11:45

Did you sign for the controlled drugs btw?

MidsomerBurgers · 22/06/2019 12:19

I'm thinking of texting her and asking her if she has like 1 or 2 spare

No, don't do that. You will only get her in to trouble.

LarryGreysonsDoor · 22/06/2019 17:19

Could the concierge have taken them to the bins by mistake.

flowersinthebedroom · 22/06/2019 17:38

Which online pharmacy delivers controlled drugs, I've been looking for one and couldn't find one.

RogerBannister · 22/06/2019 18:21

You must be absolutely shattered, how you managed to print out and deliver notices to flats on all 22 floors between when you posted at twenty to midnight last night and your update at six-ish this morning, all with a ten month old AND feeling so unwell I’ll never know, but good on you for being pro-active and hope you get things sorted.

Spaceprincess · 22/06/2019 18:58

You need to ring the police, not 111. They are controlled drugs for a reason. Sorry this has happened to you.

LuckyLou7 · 22/06/2019 18:59

Your midwife friend isn't going to risk her registration by handing over a few of her tablets to tide you over.

I still don't understand how controlled drugs were delivered and not signed for by the person they are prescribed for. I wouldn't have thought your concierge would have been allowed to sign for someone else's medication.

Regardless of all that, I hope 111 manage to sort out a prescription for you and you have a comfortable weekend

@nespressowoo Sorry you think I'd make up a story of my medication going missing for what benefit please?

I'm a long term poster and member of mumsnet, if you have concerns report it to them.

I'm gonna report those comments for troll hunting.

So I spoke to 111 again, for some reason the only pharmacies they could send the prescription again to were a) far away or b) closed.

I've called the crisis team and the police back, no luck.

As I'm now feeling the withdrawal symptoms more it's becoming more difficult.

I've just called 111 again and I'm waiting on another call back from a clinician, she said she would try and prioritise it because of the history of the calls.

In my old Borough the crisis team had a home team where they would come and visit so would be able to help but apparently in this Borough the crisis team are phone-based only so not much they can do there.

Had a few texts from the letters I put out, apologising and wishing me well etc but not yet from the bloody thief

@RogerBannister was actually closer to 3-4am when I did the notes, I was on a mission. Half expected to wake up to it on my doorstep but sadly not.
Oh well
