To think this is expensive

Hello I currently have somebody regrouting between my patio slabs.
It's quite a large area and entails him getting down on his knees constantly and its quite time consuming maybe 2 to 3 days worth.
How much would you expect to pay.

It also entails relaying the odd slab here and there.
They are charging £300 plus materials.

Sounds cheap!

Redcherries · 21/06/2019 08:10

This is the same as the last thread!

It would depend on how’s big the area is plus how big the slabs are I guess.

Did you get more than one quote?

ThatsUnusual · 21/06/2019 08:10

Is this a reverse?

Redcherries · 21/06/2019 08:11

I think that sounds bloody good value! It’s such a boring, back killing job i’d Pay double just to not do it myself.

Sally150 · 21/06/2019 08:12

What last thread

OP posts:
Sally150 · 21/06/2019 08:12

Not a reverse

£100 a day is cheap. Remember they will be paying for income tax, pensions, insurance and replacement of equipment from that.

Lazypuppy · 21/06/2019 08:13

If he is already doing it you have agreed to the quote and need to pay regardless of what he has charged.

Sally150 · 21/06/2019 08:15

He is a lone handyman

OP posts:
RestingBitchFaced · 21/06/2019 08:15

No that sounds right

Sally150 · 21/06/2019 08:16

Of course I will pay wouldn't dream of not paying.

misskatamari · 21/06/2019 08:17

Yep that sounds really reasonable to me as well, for that amount of work. On the cheap side if anything

Ohyesiam · 21/06/2019 08:17

I thought
“ well they won’t want less than £150 a day, so £450 minimum”.
I live in SW and we renovated our house and garden, and I’d say that’s good value.

ThanosSavedMe · 21/06/2019 08:17

I don’t suppose he’s in the south east is he. Sounds like a bargain

Sally150 · 21/06/2019 08:19

No thanosGrin

apostropheuse · 21/06/2019 08:19

That sounds very cheap to me.

TheQueef · 21/06/2019 08:19

Bargain.
Labour intensive job.

Treaclesweet · 21/06/2019 08:19

That is very cheap.

katewhinesalot · 21/06/2019 08:19

Sounds cheap for three days work.

newmomof1 · 21/06/2019 08:20

Are you all referring to the post where the user said she'd agreed a price but now doesn't want to pay? This is someone different!

Sally I think that's a bloody good price for 3 days work!

User2638394 · 21/06/2019 08:20

£100 a day is incredibly cheap! That’s less than £15 an hour assuming he works 9-5 and breaks for an hour, for skilled and physically tiring labour.

Sally150 · 21/06/2019 08:21

He may finish in 2

OP posts:
bloodywhitecat · 21/06/2019 08:22

That's roughly £12 an hour, I think it's very reasonable as tax/insurance/NI need to come out of that not to mention other running costs.

Sally150 · 21/06/2019 08:22

He has been arriving at 11 and finishing at 7
