Delicious! And don't get the respect that they deserve?

I love pickled things but I've always been too scared to try a pickled egg. They're so... big.

anascrecca · 20/06/2019 21:11

Pickled walnuts too

dudsville · 20/06/2019 21:13

What is the sign of a good quality picked egg. I have only tried one. They were cheap from sainsbury's. It was rubbery she just vinegar tasting. I'd love to try a picked egg with more finesse!

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 20/06/2019 21:14

Pickled eggs with salt. Best thing ever!

Gives me dreadful heartburn later though. I keep rennies in my bedside table 😎

Gottoloveabagel · 20/06/2019 21:14

So easy to make too! I love a pickled egg

Oysterbabe · 20/06/2019 21:16

I love them.

Shadow01 · 20/06/2019 21:16

Love a pickled egg!

ShinyMe · 20/06/2019 21:20

I LOVE pickled eggs. I grew up in a house where my mum always made them, so I never had shop bought ones. One Christmas when I was in my 20s I mentioned missing pickled eggs and my mum gave me an enormous kilner jar full - probably about three dozen. It was amazing.

I like to mash the yolks onto toast. Or slice them up and put in salads.

topcat2014 · 20/06/2019 21:22

@RoryGillmoresEvilTwin - I would draw the line at eating pickled eggs in bed myself :)

Notonthestairs · 20/06/2019 21:23

Pickled anything is fine by me. But I do love pickled eggs (DH doesn't appreciate them so much)

PineappleSeahorse · 20/06/2019 21:23

YABU. They're awful, like pickled rubber.

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 20/06/2019 21:25

Pickled egg in a bag of cheese and onion crisps was the bar snack back in the day. Mmmmmmmm

DramaAlpaca · 20/06/2019 21:27

I've never tried one & don't intend to. They look like weird biological specimens in those big jars in the chippy, which puts me right off. I just know I wouldn't like them.

Yup.

AdaColeman · 20/06/2019 21:45

It's years since I had a pickled egg, I must get some soon!

Pinkarsedfly · 20/06/2019 21:46

Mmmmmmmmm

Rarfy · 20/06/2019 21:47

Love them. Even more special when served in a cupcake case, almost a delicacy then ha!

SilverySurfer · 20/06/2019 21:48

I think they are gross but love pickled walnuts, yum.

24hourhomeedderandcarer · 20/06/2019 21:48

homemade ones with malt vinegar are even better

ShinyMe · 20/06/2019 21:49

Pickled eggs are only rubbery if they're very overboiled and then pickled for too long.

I love vinegar. When I was about 4 my mum found me inside a kitchen cupboard drinking pickling vinegar from a gallon bottle.

I made some pickled carrots, cauliflower and cucumber last year, they were amazing!

IAmcuriousyellow · 20/06/2019 21:50

I made pink ones by using beetroot vinegar! Call me pervert
