Doctor keeps fobbing me off! Symptoms, anyone else?

I'm posting here for traffic,

I'm a regular poster, but name change for fear of outing.

I'm literally at my wits end, I'm backwards and forwards from the doctors all of the time. I have a long history including multiple open heart surgeries. All of that is stable atm.
Anyway, I have these symtoms:
Heavy sweating with the slightest of activities, can't even clean the house without excessive sweating.
Red patches that itch on my heads with change of temperature.
Aches In joints.
Nausea.
Memory fog.
Spotty back and face, mostly white spots.
Extreme fatigue and low mood.

That's just a few, but by far the worst. Now I have servere anxiety, but have for a while and I've lived with that, tried medication and nothing works for me. I've had regular blood tests and all fine.

That doctor just keeps telling me they are all symptoms of anxiety and to try mindfulness. I have and I still struggle, the symptoms never get better.
I go back and it's the same thing every time.

Does anyone have a clue, or had any of these symptoms and received a diagnosis?

I just want to cry, I'm a full time student have a part time job and a mum to four kids. I have a burst of energy every so often, but most of the time I struggle to cope and keep up to the house. Oh and I'm a single parent so I get seldom help.

Advice pleaseSad

Menopause?

Thingsthatgo · 18/06/2019 17:02

Has the GP taken any bloods? Sounds a bit like me when I’m hyperthyroid.

Greenglassteacup · 18/06/2019 17:03

Fatigue? You have a lot on your plate by the sounds it it

Greenglassteacup · 18/06/2019 17:03

You can tell a lot from a simple blood test

Aquamarine1029 · 18/06/2019 17:04

Could you be peri-menopausal, op? Fatigue, horrible anxiety, nausea, sore joints, memory fog, and loads of other things are all symptoms.

StiltonVanDeKamp · 18/06/2019 17:04

Fibromyalgia?

LizzieSiddal · 18/06/2019 17:05

I was going to say peri menopause.

I’ve had all those symptoms over the years.

Ironmansmyhero · 18/06/2019 17:06

All blood test are fine, yeah I have a lot on and it is hard work. But I just don't feel like these symptoms are nothing. I've tried pushing it to one side and saying, things will get easier and to just carry on. I'd say I was too young for menopause I'm 30. But I have thought of that. Surely it would show on a blood test though?

I had very similar symptoms and I've got a vitamin d deficiency. You can request your gp to do a blood test.

Ironmansmyhero · 18/06/2019 17:11

No vit D deficiency. I honestly cant understand what it could be! It's really getting me down and worrying me.

Statistically, yes, you are going for peri-menopause/menopause, but it is in no way unheard of for a woman your age. As far as blood tests for peri-menopause, they are often totally unreliable due to the wild fluctuations of your hormone levels. I go to a private gynaecologist, and she does not go by blood tests alone to determine and treat peri-menopause. She feels that the totality of symptoms are much more reliable, once any other conditions have been ruled out, of course.

Aquamarine1029 · 18/06/2019 17:14

Young, not going. Ffs!

Ironmansmyhero · 18/06/2019 17:18

@Aquamarine1029
See I'm the kind of person who.have symptoms for ages and it never shows until it gets servere. I had a heart infection for a year with few symptoms and was diagnosed too late, which nearly resulted in my death so I have PTSD from that, which doesn't help. But I'm sensible and intelligent enough to know when to associate symptoms with an actual cause rather than just my anxiety alone. Which is why I've got to this point now.
I think I'll go back to the doctors tomorrow and suggest they test further, because I just can not live like this any longer.

I'm literally sat on my bed after cleaning the bathroom and an excessive sweating episode, resulting in aching joints and nausea, while contemplating getting up and making the kids tea. Today is a really bad day ugh!

Surely it would show on a blood test though?

Only if they have specifically ordered a FSH but and tested for it on a certain day of your cycle.
What bloods have been tested?
Thyroid?
B12/folate?
Anaemia screen?
Rheumatoid arthritis?

I would also suggest fibromyalgia to be honest, especially with the sweating, memory fog, joints pain, nausea

Or some of them could be due to side effects of meds you are presumably already taking? lots of meds cause sweating, spots, tiredness etc.

Is there another GP at the same practice you could speak to? A very young newly qualified one? They tend to be very, very thorough in my (very thankful) experience.

WiddlinDiddlin · 18/06/2019 17:29

You say the bloods are 'fine'...

But ask for the actual numbers and the reference range they are using.

I was repeatedly told i was fine according to bloods for my thyroid results - I was actually top end of the reference range in Manchester, suggesting I was almost hypothyroid... When I moved to Worcester, they use a different reference range and I was considered out of the range and definitely hypothyroid.

Fortunately I had a forward thinking GP who did eventually agree to treat my symptoms before I moved but it was a battle.

I had similar issues with b12.. within range, but showing symptoms of deficiency. I took that out of their hands and self treat with b12 injections I have brought in from Dubai, and amazingly, no longer have the symptoms of b12 deficiency.

Not saying either of these things are your particular issue, but ask for teh figures and ranges, don't just take 'fine' for an answer!

PenguinsRabbits · 18/06/2019 17:30

Given your heart problems I would definitely get a second opinion on this - a lot of symptoms are vague and could just be stress but some of them are odd like the sweating and spots.

Could you see a different doctor or call 111. I think it would be better if they could rule out an issue with the heart / get a second opinion. I have no medical knowledge but given you have had so many heart problems I would suspect if its something serious it could be heart related like an infection.

Fumnudge · 18/06/2019 17:31

Have they done a white blood cell count? I would ask for that for peace of mind.

LizzieSiddal · 18/06/2019 17:32

Are you sure you aren’t just exhausted and this is making you anxious?

You’re 30, got four dc, a part time job and a full time student.

You really have a lot on your plate.

Aquamarine1029 · 18/06/2019 17:32

I'm so sorry you are suffering so badly. When you KNOW something is wrong and are being fobbed off by your gp, it's infuriating.

This happened to me when I was 41. Like a bolt of lightning, my body went mental. Horrible anxiety that I had never had before, joint pain, insomnia, insane hot flushes, complete exhaustion, the works. I suspected peri but was entirely ignored by the gp. "No, can't be. You're too young."

After months of misery, I went private, and was told immediately that of COURSE I was beginning peri-menopause. On the younger side but in no way rare. I started HRT and was back to my old self almost instantly. It totally saved me.

Jacksback · 18/06/2019 17:32

Thyroid ?

QuestionableMouse · 18/06/2019 17:33

Iron and vit d deficiency gave me these symptoms, minus the spots.

surgery246 · 18/06/2019 17:40

If you post all the tests done so far with ranges and results you should get helpful answers on what should be ruled out next and if results are really at optimum levels and what type of iron etc was tested.

itwaseverthus · 18/06/2019 17:41

That sounds awful op. No wonder you are worried and keen to get an explanation. I was wondering about this, but you said your blood results were normal. www.lls.org/myeloproliferative-neoplasms/polycythemia-vera/signs-and-symptoms

Is your calcium definitely normal?

Evenquieterlife33 · 18/06/2019 17:42

Are you going to see the same G.P.? Could you see a different doctor to get another view point?
