When teaching, my old headmistress who is the least woo person in the world said the kid's behaviour deteriates at full moon.
I cannot sleep well during a full moon and i believe it is evolutionary as humans gad to be more alert when predators gad good visibilty...and my goodness, there were some arseholes on the road today!
Plus more babies are born on full moon and my period coincides with it. Aubu?

My father who had Alzheimer's and vascular dementia was always unmanageable on a full moon.... 'Sundowning' was bad enough but the full moon added extra stress...

I also work in mental health, although not on wards, and this has always been said anecdotally.

Does anyone have a good app for tracking the moon cycles?

My waters prematurely ruptured with dd1 on the full moon. I was induced 2 days later due to a risk of infection. 3 other women were in the hospital for the exact same reason! YANBU

Try Moon Plus app Jiggles

the moon when full or as you put it has the sun shining on it is closer to the earth when it is described as a full moon. It isn’t a static object

The full moon has nothing to do with how close the moon is to earth though.

Occasionally a full moon will occur when the moon is at it's perigee (closest to the earth) and we get a supermoon.

Thanks @faeriesandelves

I said upthread that DS arrived at 36+5 on a full moon. 3 years later dd came early too. Never knew what the moon was doing, just looked it up. It was full!

No absentmindedwoman that’s not what I said. Silly.

Stop introducing facts into the thread 😂😂

This explains how a full moon isn't always close to the earth It got pictures.

Even working in a call centre years ago we used to be able to tell it was a full moon.

I fully believe in the powers of the moon. My mum had DB and I on a full moon five years apart and my DS was born on a full moon. I'm due around a full moon so will see what happens.

My cycles coincide with the full moons as well.

Shitload of anecdata but when a fair number of emergency / front line service people with many years' experience are saying there's a spike in tricky behaviour then maybe that should be listened to.

Possibly people in a state of high stress are affected in some manner so that the stress spills over?

We sure don't know how everything ticks yet. Im told by a university hospital gyne that we don't even know how the precise start of labour is triggered (which has nothing to do with the moon maybe, but it's still one of the pivotal events in 2 individual's lives and is of massive historical significance)
