To ask about quick fix weight loss

PlaymobilPirate · 16/06/2019 17:37

I've been following Slimming World- I've SLOWLY lost 2 stone. I'm still overweight though and, although I want to stick with proper weight loss lifestyle changes long term I'd like a quick fix right now.

I'm going away for 2 weeks in exactly a month.

Never tried slim fast or anything like that but happy to try for a short term quick loss. I'm time poor at the minute so never get chance to go to the gym.

Any tips pretty please?

How much do you weigh now? How tall are you? How much exercise do you do? How much do you want to lose before you go?

PlaymobilPirate · 16/06/2019 17:41

I'm 5'2. Weigh about 13 stone (embarrassingly)

Currently walk lots but no gym or swimming.

I'd love to lose a stone but think that's probably unrealistic.

Could you keep doing slimming world but cut out the syns, drink more water, less carbs etc?

Uhtredswoman · 16/06/2019 17:45

It's doable on a VLCD - Exante, maybe?
Good luck!

PlaymobilPirate · 16/06/2019 17:45

Yes, I will definitely stick with SW long term. I'm weirdly enjoying the group I go to.

It's taken me a long time to lose though and need a different kick start I think.

Vlcd??

PlaymobilPirate · 16/06/2019 17:50

Just googled exante... very tempted!

How much free time do you have in the average day?

People say weight loss is all about diet, but if you don't exercise much you won't have much of a metabolism.

If you could find the time and money to exercise 1-2 hours a day (not just walking), restrict your food intake, cut out all booze, sweet drinks, crisps, cakes, sweets, refined white carbs, then yeah, you could lose a pretty significant amount of weight in a month. You would also be very hungry, very stiff and probably quite grumpy. Up to you if it's worth it.

PinkyLovePerky · 16/06/2019 17:52

Try SP on slimming world, will give you a boost.

BuffaloCauliflower · 16/06/2019 17:52

The Blood Sugar Diet. Works, is supported by science, feels extreme but I wasn’t hungry (except after a long time between meals which is normal!) or tired, lost 10lbs in 3 weeks. Need to lose another 10lbs now after a few months so will be getting back on it

JellyNo15 · 16/06/2019 17:53

Check out OMAD (one meal a day). After a few days you don’t feel hungry as your blood sugars stay low and your body is in fat burn mode for eleven hour a day.

Hunger pangs are usually short lived and a black coffee sorts them out. I lost five pounds the first week, and three or four each week after.

Also my skin has gone back well with no loose skin and I am late forties.

JellyNo15 · 16/06/2019 17:53

Also I keep under a thousand calories a day

Babooshkar · 16/06/2019 17:54

You need to cut all refined carbs - no pasta, rice, potatoes, very little to no bread and stick to 3 square meals. Walk and move more, get a step counter.

DragonTrainer3 · 16/06/2019 17:57

You could try the Blood Sugar Diet? I've just started it, but plenty of posters on the diet threads have lost tons on it. It's 800 cals a day though, every day, all low carb, plus lots of exercise.

It's written by Michael Moseley, but based on some pretty sound research.

Oysterbabe · 16/06/2019 17:58

I do OMAD and it's worked great, and I lost a lot in the first month. If you do Ketomad it'll be even faster.

Justbreathing · 16/06/2019 18:01

Just don’t do it. Don’t fuck up your progress. It’s a slow long haul. And you’re doing amazingly! If you do something stupid now, all you will do is go off the deep end.
From personal experience.

cocodash · 16/06/2019 18:01

I have done exante in the past when needed a quick fix and it does work. But it is BRUTAL and defo more of a mind over matter.

But to be fair I would and probably will do it again

TantricTwist · 16/06/2019 18:03

SW is all about eating a lot of food. Stick to a calorie controlled diet of 1200 whilst sticking to the SW formula for now and avoid bread.

PlaymobilPirate · 16/06/2019 18:08

I have a exante 2 week box in my basket... just trying to quickly read up before I buy! I never thought it would even cross my mind and I really do know that proper healthy eating is best long term .

Blood Sugar Diet will work as quick but is actual food. Honestly don’t go for the shakes

millionaireshortie · 16/06/2019 18:39

1:1 diet Cambridge weight plan Step 2 or 3 includes lots of regular healthy food. Weight loss is rapid!

stopitandtidyupp · 16/06/2019 18:44

Michael Mosleys fast 800. I saw his talk on it. Mainly a med diet. Lost 9lbs this week.

Also try slim and save for VLCD. They say a stone a month loss approximately.

frenchonion · 16/06/2019 18:49

I need a quick fix half stone so I'm doing OMAD for a couple of weeks. I did this when I first started dating DP (Not intentionally, appetite is first thing to go with me if I'm falling in or out of love! Still very much in love though so it's going to take a little more willpower this time I think!) and lost a shitload of weight. Although feeling a bit guilty as my meal for today was a MacDonalds 🙈 I'd usually opt for something much healthier!

PlaymobilPirate · 16/06/2019 18:52

I've ordered a box. I haven't told dp yet as he'll think I'm mad. I've got loads on at the minute - seriously busy period at work etc so need something I don't need to think about.

I did exante back before xmas, just for a quick fix before a social event. I was feeling really bloated at 11st and 5ft 3 and had 2 months to lose.
I was 8st 10 for the event, and have settled now around 9st4. Best thing I ever did, and easiest. I still have the products for breakfast/ lunch a few times a week for ease.
