Just that really....

Each year I try something new - it always runs into my eyes with sweat, just on a normal day, and stings - so my eyes stream and I have to take my contacts out!

So

  1. What do you use and what do you think of it?
  2. Any experience of the P20 lasts for 10+ hours?

Thanks! This is the summer I'm going to get it nailed.....

The Roche Posay Anthelios range is fantastic. I like the tinted face ones but I’m pretty sure they do one designed for sensitive eyes. Boots usually have offers on.

Soltan

Ordinary days, under makeup, I use Biore watery gel spf50 - goes on light and makes a really good base for makeup.

Days when I go makeup free, I use Tropic Tinted Sunshade spf50 - just enough of a tint to give a really healthy glow, and doesn't slip off my face when I get warm. It's water resistant too.

AWaspOnAWindowReturns · 16/06/2019 15:03

Sorry, also meant to add, I'm a lens wearer and also have eyelash extensions - neither the Biore or the Tropic sunscreens have ever irritated my eyes or made my lashes come off.

I hate putting suncream...any cream on my face as it always makes my eyes water and “weep” for hours. I tend to give eyes a wide berth, using a F50 face cream, always wear a hat and sunglasses, even when sunbathing.

Interested to hear if anyone know of suncreams that are more eye friendly?

DP uses P20 and never had any issues with it, he works outside and puts it everywhere including his face.

I have sensitive skin and use Clarins for my face. I find it doesn't make my face look shiny or feel all clogged up. Failing that, try a big hat !!!

Avon for the last 20 years everyday. I look younger than my 51 years.

dementedpixie · 16/06/2019 15:21

I have bought an Asda one this year (it is specifically for faces)

beansonbread · 16/06/2019 15:26

I've started using Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream with SPF 50 - comes in a handy roll on stick!

I use Aldi's own brand, factor 30. It's about 3 quid.

Tilikum · 16/06/2019 17:06

I use The Ordinary sunscreen every day, it's cheap (~£7) or La Roche Posay Anthelios. These are the only ones I've tried that give a decent base for make up and don't make your face all greasy.

If I'm on holiday and not wearing a full face of make up I'll use the Aldi face one.

LadyGodivasCat · 16/06/2019 18:52

I love Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen. SPF40. It’s really light and goes on like a primer. It’s the first sunscreen I’ve ever found that I’m happy to wear every day.

RottnestFerry · 16/06/2019 18:55

I don't because I don't like stinging eyes either. If it's sunny enough to be a problem, I wear a hat.

DramaAlpaca · 16/06/2019 18:55

Another vote for La Roche Posay Anthelios. I've started using it this year & I really like it. My skin is very sensitive & it doesn't react to it at all.

TakenForSlanted · 16/06/2019 18:58

Dr. Jart's BB Cream - has SPF 45 and doubles as my foundation. The ridiculous price tag is easier to swallow if you consider that.

Hithere12 · 16/06/2019 18:59

Go for a mineral sunscreen, they don’t sting eyes. I use Elta Md. it’s American though so has to be ordered online.

SprinkleOfInsanity · 16/06/2019 19:03

Indeed labs 'defense 30'. I have very sensitive eyes, and this is brilliant. I use it on the kids (one who is a baby) too, and it has none of the stingy eyes issues for any of us!

user1471453601 · 16/06/2019 19:04

On holiday in a v hot country, I wear moisturiser with factor 15, and a very large brimmed hat.

M1Mountain · 16/06/2019 19:12

I've just started using Sunsense anti aging 50spf. It's Australian unscented and fine with my contacts, non greasy too. Really pleased with it. You can get it from JL.

Chwaraeteg · 16/06/2019 19:16

Either la roche posay anthelios or their effaclar with spf. Cetaphil also do a daily moisturiser with spf which is good and doesn't sting your eyes or cause spots.

I was told by a Dr in A&E to never put sun lotion on my face though, just to wear a wide brimmed hat (I was in A&E because I scratched my eye all while gardening, then rubbed a mixture of face sweat and sun cream into my eye, causing a horrible burning reaction and subsequent infection).

Jebuschristchocolatebar · 16/06/2019 19:19

Ultrasun. My eyes weep with everything but this is the best. You can get small trial size tubes in m&s beauty if you want to give it and go before committing to a big tube.

xyzandabc · 16/06/2019 19:21

I don't, I wear a hat

orangeshoebox · 16/06/2019 19:21

my normal moisturiser has spf 30.
(nivea q10) and doesn't run or sting.

lhastingsmua · 16/06/2019 19:22

Kiehl’s!
