In having a little ugly cry at ds's pre-K graduation?

He's going to big school in September. They just had the sweetest little ceremony with gowns, caps and gave the Mum's roses.

I burst in to tears when he gave me the rose (him growing up is very bittersweet) and one of the other Mum's said afterwards that she thought it was ridiculous that I cried!

In a couple of months here my social media feeds will be full of the new year at school and starting school photographs. All those tiny little people in their brand new uniforms are enough to make me tear up even when I remember their parents as stroppy teens in my scout group or cadet unit. Parents and grandparents coming in late to work after seeing them to school on their first day.

I don't blame you, OP, it's a big step for him. And for you; he's no longer your wee baby but on another stage of growing up. ❤️
