Things that make you shudder

I cannot stand people breathing on me. Not just breathing whilst having a conversation, I mean like DP breathing on my neck/arm/shoulder whatever in bed.

I love him but I have to make him turn over or put a pillow in between us if I can feel it. It makes me squirm.

My belly button is another. I can't touch or look at it without recoiling. There's nothing wrong with it, I just can't stand the thought of it!

Does anyone else have something that makes them feel like this?

My ex once told me of a ‘prank’ played at scout camp whereby they poured neat orange squash down some boy’s scratchy woollen jumper sleeve. Still makes me shudder at the thought.

Seeing / hearing someone brushing their teeth,
Long nails on men,
Someone breathing on me,
Putting my fingers in a pulse point (either on myself or someone else),
Looking at things with holes in (wasps nest, lotus seed heads etc - Trypophobia),
Skin on custard.

Shufflebumnessie · 14/06/2019 22:08

*on a pulse point, not in!

3boysandabump · 14/06/2019 22:11

I can't have wooden lolly sticks or paper straws in my mouth

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/06/2019 22:18

Wet cellophane.
Bent ear buds

Whitefeather01 · 14/06/2019 22:20

Teeth. They're absolutely fine unless they're wobbly or I'm at the dentist. Seeing a childs wobbly tooth makes me want to cry.

MissClareRemembers · 14/06/2019 22:22

Fish tanks in restaurants. My local Chinese restaurant is lovely apart from the 6 feet long fish tank. It’s very creepy.

Sea snakes. The way they wind sideways through the water, the evil bastards.

Used plasters. Urgh.

When biscuits fall apart after being dunked in tea. Even worse when a soggy biscuit plummets into the cup.

Wet dogs.

Whitefeather01 · 14/06/2019 22:29

This thread is giving me phobias I didn't know I had 😂

LillyBud · 14/06/2019 22:39

Sponges - The tiny holes, the fact that if you squeeze them liquid oozes out, the feel of them Envy just no!

When people scrape their teeth on metal cutleryAngryEnvy

Whining kids. I would rather listen to 10 crying/screaming/laughing kids than one whinging little arsehole.

TrueFriendsStabYouInTheFront · 14/06/2019 22:39

Feeling a random long stray hair between your fingers when you go swimming

Walking through the little puddles in the swimming changing rooms

Dirty old man hair smell

My kids endlessly putting their mouth all over things like trolley handles, bus hand rails, edges of tables in restaurants.

tinkerbellla · 14/06/2019 22:42

Drinking from paper straws and eating from wooden forks like the M&S ones. I have no idea why my body rejects sustainable items 😷

cliffy69 · 14/06/2019 22:45

My love egg makes me shudder - in a different way ShockGrin

julensaor · 14/06/2019 23:01

moles

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 14/06/2019 23:48

Slugs and when the cat sheds toenails

Ski40 · 15/06/2019 01:18

Cotton balls... men with long and dirty nails.. excessive chewing noises... stale coffee breath... everyone sharing one manky old wash up scourer at the office sink... words like hubby, cuppa and worst of all maccy d. All meat since I went back vegan. Daytime tv adverts ( funeral plans, PPI and accident claims, bingo sites).

poglets · 15/06/2019 05:34

Single use cutlery. Can't stand the sensation when you use it.
Loud, repeated sneezing
More than one person talking to me at once.
When you see the word loose and it's meant to be lose.

OverseasWorker · 15/06/2019 05:37

People standing too close, unless it's my DP.
My Mum does it and much as I love her it takes all my willpower not to move away.

FrangipaniBlue · 15/06/2019 05:44

Cold baked beans.
I can't touch them and if I'm opening a tin and one touches my hand I get a physical shiver and start gagging.

Me too!!!!

People touching me. Just don't.

StoatofDisarray · 15/06/2019 10:04

The sound of chewing!

Omzlas · 15/06/2019 21:34

I forgot: wet wool, even acrylic. Makes me shudder, like a whole body shudder

Bones - chicken wings, ribs, anything. I can't even touch them

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/06/2019 23:05

People not pronouncing vowels in words eg Ccaine instead of Cocaine.

chocolatemademefat · 15/06/2019 23:43

The cord thing on an egg that joins the yolk to the white. I have to cut it away. Boak.
Lollipop sticks - I’m shivering writing this.
Having a hair in my mouth - I can gag till I’m sick.
Feet - and people pulling their toes apart.
People standing too close to me and breathing on me.
Kissing. I have no desire to swap saliva with anyone and I’m frightened something falls down their nose.

toriathet · 15/06/2019 23:56
