Things that make you shudder

I cannot stand people breathing on me. Not just breathing whilst having a conversation, I mean like DP breathing on my neck/arm/shoulder whatever in bed.

I love him but I have to make him turn over or put a pillow in between us if I can feel it. It makes me squirm.

My belly button is another. I can't touch or look at it without recoiling. There's nothing wrong with it, I just can't stand the thought of it!

Does anyone else have something that makes them feel like this?

Cotton wool
Tissues rubbing
Cotton fabric rubbing
Breathing
Chewing
Swallowing
Loud eating or lip smacking
Nail flicking like when someone is picking their nails
False nails on glass and plastic
Nails on chalkboard

I'm a bit over sensitive but it's a hard life to live because these are every day things

Fl0w3r · 14/06/2019 18:52

Oh and clanking cutlery on dishes, like when someone is scraping the last bits up

Nat6999 · 14/06/2019 19:08

Birds or feathers, I'm phobic about them, I cross the road if I see a pigeon, once got trapped in my car by a duck. Was looking at a static caravan site until I saw that it had peacocks wandering round it.

NotSoThinLizzy · 14/06/2019 19:13

Mines a bit wierd but ripping paper is just urgh. Sets my teeth on edge and makes my neck muscles clench 😂 OH is clingfilm

LeavesAndGreenTrees · 14/06/2019 19:23

A hair in any food. Esp in something liquidy like soup or porridge.
🤮

LeavesAndGreenTrees · 14/06/2019 19:23

I found it difficult to type that!

DontCallMeShitley · 14/06/2019 19:26

People flicking and twiddling with their hair.
Nose picking.
Banging and scraping cutlery on plates.
Nails like shovels, even clean ones.

LesserBohemian · 14/06/2019 19:26

Sand.

It makes me want to shudder, recoil and vomit all at the same time.

Howlovely · 14/06/2019 19:27

Baked beans make me feel really sick. Walking through a spider's web with my face gives me the shivers. Stray hairs on clothes or anywhere. Long, yellowing nails, especially when coupled with nicotine stained fingers 🤢🤮 Serated knife marks in the butter.

TrueFriendsStabYouInTheFront · 14/06/2019 19:50

Small ceramic or porcelain ornaments, if they're small enough to fit in the mouth, my mind instantly starts thinking about crunching them! WTAF?!

Anyone hurting their feet. If I see someone stub a toe or step on something sharp my knees go all weird. Even just thinking about it gives me the funny knees!

Prawns - actual bushtucker trial food to me

motortroll · 14/06/2019 19:51

Apple cores Envy

sockatoe · 14/06/2019 19:54

Starting to write with a biro when you think the point is out but it isn't, and the pen scrapes on the paper.

JaneGlorianaVillanueva · 14/06/2019 19:57
  1. Driving over a dead animal on the road. I know it's already dead and I didnt hit it but it makes me shudder
  1. Seeing snakes, even on TV. They turn my stomach.
Chickenwing · 14/06/2019 19:58

Fork on a plate, teaspoon scraping a cup. Aggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Tinfoil being chewed 😬 I hate this thread!

Chickenwing · 14/06/2019 20:00

Oh and people who chew with their mouth open. yuck.

ginandnappies · 14/06/2019 20:01

Metal cutlery scraping against a pan genuinely makes me gag. Envy

howwudufeel · 14/06/2019 20:02

The word brekkie. I was listening to Smooth FM this morning (don’t judge me) and Mylene Klass did a trailer for her show. She said something along the lines of ‘listen to my show while preparing brekkie.’ Yuk.

1wokeuplikethis · 14/06/2019 20:09

Every time someone says Lego it makes my lower teeth hurt.

I think I chewed a lot of Lego as a kid and it hurt my big teeth coming through. Bleurgh. My teeth hurt typing this.

1wokeuplikethis · 14/06/2019 20:11

And cutlery scraping on a plate makes me sick my lips over my teeth and wince.

I look like I don’t know how to use a knife and fork when I cut things up because I can’t bear to risk a scrape.

1wokeuplikethis · 14/06/2019 20:11

*suck my lips. Not sick my lips. That’s gross.

Processedpea · 14/06/2019 20:13

Lotus pods

Rememberallball · 14/06/2019 20:14

Dentists - proper hyperventilate, rapid pulse and sick/dizzy feelings just at the thought of going for a check up. Dates back to a bad experience as a 9 year old.

Knees - injuries etc as I have a bad knee and seeing them on medical programmes just turns my stomach (and I used to be a threat te scrub nurse in a specialist paediatric hospital and have seen some horrific things)

Slate being used as a plate - I ask them to take the meal away and replace on a round, china plate before it touches the table. You cannot eat safely using cutlery if food is served on a sore slab it’s akin to fingernails being scraped down a blackboard!!

1wokeuplikethis · 14/06/2019 20:15

Oh god yes to the pp about removing a dry tampon Envy

LeukaeLucky · 14/06/2019 20:18

Are you me @cheeseislife8? Firstly cheese is life secondly feet touching, brushing 🤢
People eating or chewing
People coughing

LeukaeLucky · 14/06/2019 20:20

Your description gave me goosebumps @sockatoe.
