Things that make you shudder

I cannot stand people breathing on me. Not just breathing whilst having a conversation, I mean like DP breathing on my neck/arm/shoulder whatever in bed.

I love him but I have to make him turn over or put a pillow in between us if I can feel it. It makes me squirm.

My belly button is another. I can't touch or look at it without recoiling. There's nothing wrong with it, I just can't stand the thought of it!

Does anyone else have something that makes them feel like this?

Metal treasury tags.

managedmis · 14/06/2019 20:25

People eating crisps right next to my face on the metro. You're not THAT hungry. No, really, you're not. The incessant nibbling. Salty fingers rummaging in the bag and then HORROR touching the rail.

Shudder

LarryGreysonsDoor · 14/06/2019 20:29

Oh god yes to dry tampons.

I don’t think I’ve used a tampon in 20 years (tss) but I remember that feeling.

icantstopeatingg · 14/06/2019 20:30

Anyone touching my neck, looking in peoples ears, spots, kids with boogers, some people's breath, creepy crawlies, cotton wool, biting gloves.

My list is endless but I'm trying not to think 🙈

MissClareRemembers · 14/06/2019 20:32

Tomato ketchup smears. Urgh. Especially when it’s in weird places like on chairs, high chairs or train windows (that particular memory still makes me cringe).

Wobbly teeth. The kids at the school I work know I hate wobbly teeth so are forever flicking them with their tongues!

Milkn0sugar · 14/06/2019 20:33

Wooden cutlery touching my teeth and tongue
The sound of pieces of polystyrene rubbing together
Dog, fox and cat turds on the pavement (and just generally)
Wee on the loo seat or floor in public toilets

cantfindname · 14/06/2019 20:34

Egg yolk left on a plate. Grim

Egg and tomato on the same plate, even in a photo. Even grimmer.

Slugs. What purpose do they serve other than to gross people out? Ban the slimy buggers!!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 14/06/2019 20:37

My ds's little knees when he's had a scrape, they're currently grazed as anything and I wince in pain when I see them

The sound of those cheap plastic cup drinks and straws, especially when they're empty

The sound of paper rubbing on paper

Gorillaandme · 14/06/2019 20:39

People sticking their arm or even worse foot out of car window well driving. It really distracts me because all I can picture in a sign or something taking it off 🙄😆
Cockroaches make me sick I once felt something crawl behind my ear and when I scratched a cockroach ran down my arm 🤢

needsleepzzz · 14/06/2019 20:41

Being breathed on
Wobbly teeth Confused

mulberrybag · 14/06/2019 20:44

When my v hairy DP clips his chest hair and then spoons me at night. It feels like several thousand shards of glass digging into me and makes me feel murderous to the extreme

Heulog · 14/06/2019 20:56

When someone has a hole in their sock with a poor, strangled toe sticking out. Or when you are wearing socks and accidently step in something wet, or when you have a sock on that has a loose end of thread somewhere around your toes.
I go completely barefoot at home.

Shayne11 · 14/06/2019 21:03

My first post !

Hair on a sponge 😰

Especially if it’s woven through 🤢

ButterflyBitch · 14/06/2019 21:12

Being breathed on as well. Also being touched when I’m trying to sleep. (Though this is a hangover from an abusive relationship)
Snot makes me heave. Not great when you work in a school.
Also fatty/gristly meat. Boak.
Feet or people touching my feet.
I’m sure there’s more...

ButterflyBitch · 14/06/2019 21:15

Oh yes, long fingernails on a man. Eurgh.

icantstopeatingg · 14/06/2019 21:15

@MissClareRemembers

Aw wobbly teeth 😭. I can never look at my kids when they show me their wobbly tooth.

MrsAJCrowley · 14/06/2019 21:16
  • Egg white makes me want to vomit
  • When I was pregnant, just seeing raw meat actually turned my stomach
  • sticky things make me immediately want to go and shower
  • snakes. In any form. Even on the telly. Nope nope nope. They make me freeze with fear. To the extent that we were at a children’s petting zoo once and we walked round a corner in the butterfly house and they were doing a meet and greet with an albino python. I completely froze and my DB had to stand in front of me to block it and manoeuvred me backwards out of the space. Couldn’t even turn round I was so terrified!
-cobwebs... they make me itch if one touches me. -itchy labels/seams/fabric. I’ve been known to love a top in a shop window, walk in, touch it and immediately shudder and walk back out again!

My ds1's toenails
Earwigs 😱
Daddy long legs😱😱
Donald Trump
Boris Johnson
Jacob Rhys Mogg
Vocal fry

Furrybutts · 14/06/2019 21:33

Long toenails visible in sandals. No matter how well kept the feet are, I think it looks scruffy.

Seeing/hearing someone brushing their teeth ,or smalling toothpaste on their breath makes me heave.

MalloryLaurel · 14/06/2019 21:33

How did I forget chewing gum?!🤮

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 14/06/2019 21:37

Holey things.

Can't stand crumpets or things like that, they give me the willies.

(This is a common thing, I was so pleased it had a name and I wasn't the only one!)

miggeldysthepres · 14/06/2019 21:46

I'm ok with most of the things mentioned here....eating sounds don't bother me, cutlery scraping etc. Don't like belly button being touched though.
Mine are....eggshells....oh Jesus the thoughts of crunching down on even the tiniest piece unexpectedly. I tend not to eat eggs prepared by others because of this.
Grit is bad but not as bad as eggshells.

Can't stand the sound of nails on material, like a cheap nylony trousers and you scratch your legs through it....eek. See also material being ripped. I'd never make a dressmaker.

Springfern · 14/06/2019 21:47

People's dry, yellowing, cracked heels hanging out the back of their sandles. Knob cheese

yetanothernewusername1 · 14/06/2019 21:55

Oh god so so many 😩
Dry tampons oh god yes
Other people's or animals poo
Vomit
People in my space
Sea food of any description I can't even cook it
Running nail over a seat belt across the grain 🙈
Cotton wool or any wool near teeth 😱
Odd socks....not In colour that's ok but two black say one from Asda set and one from Tesco set. It's not right it feels so wrong all day on my feet, one pulls up higher than the other one may be tighter!!! I've had to start buying my socks from just Asda 😂
Leftover food on plates 🤮 I couldn't be a waitress for all the money in the world!!!
Bin juice, or being behind a bin wagon....anything bin related actually 🤮
Can't bear the feeling of barefoot unless on carpet!
Warty skin
Farting. I absolutely hate it it disgusts me and intend to overreact if anyone does it around me in a confined space!! It's other people's smells I can't tolerate it really upsets me!!
Using a unisex toilet such as plane after I've seen a man come out of it. Logically I know many may have been in but I have seen this one!
Dirty, gritty or sandy feeling hands 😱
Dirty fingernails
The thought of sleeping in another persons bed. Especially if sheets not completely fresh like a hotel. Not for me me! Again it comes down to other people's smells!
Bath dirt from another person! Hair and soap scum 🤮 I have to properly clean my bath out and shower it off before I'll get in it. I then have to stand on a clean towel as I can't bear the thought of floor bits in the bath!!!
Starting to think I have real problems actually!!
