Things that make you shudder

I cannot stand people breathing on me. Not just breathing whilst having a conversation, I mean like DP breathing on my neck/arm/shoulder whatever in bed.

I love him but I have to make him turn over or put a pillow in between us if I can feel it. It makes me squirm.

My belly button is another. I can't touch or look at it without recoiling. There's nothing wrong with it, I just can't stand the thought of it!

Does anyone else have something that makes them feel like this?

Disfordarkchocolate.

This has made me really laugh 😂

CassianAndor · 14/06/2019 09:37

Agree with you on bellybutton, OP. Can't stand it.

In some circumstances seeing blood can make me go all wobbly.

Zombies. Really can't be doing with zombies.

ChodeofChodeHall · 14/06/2019 09:38

When children nibble on their woolly gloves 😩

lucymegan · 14/06/2019 09:38

I can't stand dh breathing on me either and have to put a pillow between us 🙈 I have been known to sleep and the other end of the bed too because of it @ThanksForThatt

Jeremy Corbyn
People that sneeze loudly
Spitting
Dirty nails

Pascha · 14/06/2019 09:41

Putting my hands in soft gunky stuff - playdough, pastry dough, slime etc. Gives me the willies every time.

Zoeputthatdown · 14/06/2019 09:41

Sitting opposite somebody who inserts a finger in their ear, waggles it to clean it then inspects their finger.
Seeing someone in a car alongside me in traffic picking their nose.

Lilyannarose · 14/06/2019 09:44

People sucking/ chewing a sweet while talking to me on the phone!
Aside from the sucking/ chewing grating in my ear, I couldn't tell a word she said as every word was punctuated with "sllllrrrrp!!......chomp! chomp!.........and then this infuriating clicking sound when it evidently got stuck to her teeth!!

confussedmisfit · 14/06/2019 09:47

Cold baked beans.
I can't touch them and if I'm opening a tin and one touches my hand I get a physical shiver and start gagging.

Also large man made items under water. I once mentioned this to my wife and she didn't believe or understand my.
Then turns out there's a real named phobia for it, Submechanophobia.
I believe it gives me the same feeling as people get from heights, or tight spaces etc.
Also to add, I love swimming and am a very good swimmerConfused

ThanksForThatt · 14/06/2019 09:57

The thread on here once where the OP had actual worms come out of what she thought was an infected mosquito bite and the realisation that this was actually a thing that could happen. Eeeek

The sound of people eating! Ugh.

Having my toes touched, even accidentally brushing then against DH in bed.

Itstartedinbarcelona · 14/06/2019 10:04

The documentary on sugar daddies that’s on the bbc website, with the girl posing as an 18 year old getting hundreds of responses from men in their 50s directly asking for sex.

TildaKauskumholm · 14/06/2019 10:05

People eating with mouths open or while talking - makes me feel ill. Sniffing, knuckle cracking, women constantly flicking their hair (why not just put a big sign on your head saying look at me)

Disfordarkchocolate · 14/06/2019 10:21

I can't resist sneakily eating them @confussedmisfit. Sweetcorn in salads though Shock

PaperFlowerTree · 14/06/2019 10:28

Moths and butterflies 😳🤢
Anyone touching my knees or putting their hands/legs near them. even thinking about this makes me shudder!

Walkamileinmyshoesbeforeujudge · 14/06/2019 10:33

False eyes! Used to drink with a friend who's relation had a false eye. Mid conversation he would pop it out, rub it on his shirt and pop back in..... First time I nearly dropped my drink! I am a Geordie and mid chat I would be saying aye aye!! Oops!
Blush
*not being discriminate in any way, my uncle had one too and he is lovely!
He never shared it with family during a gathering mind!

Asta19 · 14/06/2019 10:34

Prawns. If a food advert comes on with them on I have to turn away. If I’m out for a meal with friends and someone’s ordered them I can’t look in their direction until they’ve finished eating. My DC had never tasted them at home because there’s no way I could have them in the house!

Omzlas · 14/06/2019 10:39

Maggots

Milk skin, makes me feel sick if I sip it, I have to spit it out

Eyes - laser surgery adverts make me heave. I can't look someone in the eye if they have conjunctivitis or bloodshot eyes

DH sticks his finger between my toes to wind me up and it makes me stabby

Lolly25 · 14/06/2019 10:42

Ed Sheeran, he actually makes me feel sick to look at him.
Noisy eaters, nearest I get to murder...

myusernamewastakenbyme · 14/06/2019 10:49

Labels in clothes...i hate them...the bigger and flappier they are...the more i hate them....i cringe when i see people walking around with them hanging out...when i get dressed i always make sure mine are tucked in or cut out.

Disfordarkchocolate · 14/06/2019 10:50

Chicken wings make me deeply uneasy. I prepared hundreds when I worked in a restaurant then someone pulled one to its full width and it reminded me of a babies leg. Small prawns look like small fetuses so they are a no too.

Thurmanmurman · 14/06/2019 10:51

Slugs make me feel physically sick
Can’t touch sandpaper, really struggle filing my nails
Massive beards 🤢
Hairy backs on men

SpamChaudFroid · 14/06/2019 10:57

When children nibble on their woolly gloves I absolutely hated the feeling of wool squeaking/crunching on teeth. I used to force myself to do it though, right up to my 30s. Why I don't know. Grin

Those brown fibrous sheets for lining hanging baskets. I have to give it a wide berth in the garden centre but can still smell it, which stays in my nostrils for hours.

The wet kind of noises that human mouths make, especially when yawning. Funnily enough, I could happily listen to my pets eating and smacking their lips all day.

The thought of wearing contact lenses, What if I took them out, forgot, then tried to pull out my corneas Shock

Ellabella989 · 14/06/2019 10:59

@spamchaudfroid my ex once forgot he had his constant lenses in and one moved when he was asleep and got stuck under his top eyelid. I’ve had a fear of them ever since and really don’t think I could ever wear them

CaptainCabinets · 14/06/2019 11:05

Getting my sleeve wet when washing my hands.
Polystyrene in any form.
Loud chewing.
The way my DP gulps water.
Dirty fingernails.
Dirty teeth.

And the worst one....removing a dry tampon. Blush
