Poll: Sleep naked or in night clothes

Just curious so posting for traffic.

I've slept naked since I was about 14. Can't abide having clothes on in bed. If I'm staying at someone else's house, I'll have some nearby for nighttime loo visits.

Was the post on jammies in supermarkets with people referring to sets to sleep in.

No one in my family has ever slept with clothes on other than my mother. DH sleeps naked as does apparently all of his family.

It amuses me on TV when you see people in bed in jammies or similar especially if they have just apparently been having sex.

Naked. To the point where when I was admitted to hospital a few days before I gave birth I was seriously worried I'd wake up having stripped naked in my sleep. I didn't, which was a complete surprise as even with the window open - in January - the ward was completely tropical! I even have a false memory of hearing crickets! Confused Grin

HoppityChicken · 11/06/2019 23:49

Naked - I just sleep better that way.

MrsBertBibby · 11/06/2019 23:50

Naked with bed socks. A soft t shirt if I'm feeling ill. Hate wearing knicks or pjs to sleep.

lilpumpsmum · 11/06/2019 23:58

Naked but if I'm on my period I wear some pyjama shorts. DH understands this means to leave me be lol

aLilNonnyMouse · 12/06/2019 00:08

Naked since I can't get comfortable wearing anything. I toss and turn all night and any clothes get wrapped and twisted around me. Causes pinching and wakes me up with how uncomfortable with it. Only time I'll wear anything is a pair of knickers on my period.

Not sure how I'll cope when I have kids, maybe sleep in knickers and keep an oversized t-shirt on the bedside table to quickly throw on if needed.

gingerginger2 · 12/06/2019 00:09

Naked!

Or sometimes a silk dressing gown.

TeiTetua · 12/06/2019 16:23

No clothes in bed in this house, but as someone said, dressing gowns on back of bedroom door. Unfortunately, socks do make an appearance when the weather gets cold, and we have to tolerate them. But we don't have kids, not that we'd be excessively worried about them knowing we sleep nude. Or wanting to do the same, if they preferred.

As others have said, I can't sleep without at least a sheet over me, though dp will just lie there asleep naked if it's very hot. I say it's an instinctive feeling that I need to be protected against enemies creeping up on me at night.

Ashleighc01 · 12/06/2019 16:38

@QOD OMFG 🤣🤣🤣🤣 this sounds like something that would come out of my mouth lol!!

Ashleighc01 · 12/06/2019 16:39

For everyone that sleeps naked...

Do you wear PJs to chill then get undressed to get into bed? Or do you wear your day clothes until you get into bed? What about after a bath or shower?

SecretWitch · 12/06/2019 16:42

Naked. Husband always sleeps in shorts and a T-shirt.

KatherineJaneway · 12/06/2019 16:46

Pj's here or pj bottomless with vest top in summer.

petrocellihouse · 12/06/2019 16:48

I wear my birthday suit. In answer to @Ashleighc01- I change into casual house clothes when I get home from work to chill. Or if having a bath or shower in the evening (normally shower mornings), PJ's then strip off to get into bed. I get tangled up in nightwear and they either ride up in the case of a nightie, or the PJ's end up scrunching up and annoying me!

quietcontentment · 12/06/2019 16:52

Used to sleep naked b4 kids, now sleep in a big t-shirt just in case need to get up for kids then I'm half decent.

WalksWithDinosaurs · 12/06/2019 16:53

PJs all the way- hate, hate, hate sleeping naked. if its warm then still a yoga top and PJshorts
winter-is full on fluffy PJs, hoodie and fluffy socks not to mention like 5 blankets on the bed!!
this was the same when I was with my ex- always got dressed after dtd, however we lived in a student block and the quantity of fire alarms at ungodly hours was insaine and I want up for the public humiliation of being outside in pants despite the fact he'd have preferred me to sleep in the nude-

HeronLanyon · 12/06/2019 17:06

I used to sleep naked mostly - until I was burgled and woke to stranger in my bedroom. I had pjs on and have never been so thankful. All ended ok but never sleep naked now and always have mobile and landline by bed. During London riots and then terror attack (the one where we were all told to stay in as it seemed to be spreading from tower bridge to other parts) I wedged front door shut. In fact riots I packed a suitcase to put in garden. Bloody hell sorry everyone. I love London.

BigusBumus · 12/06/2019 20:19

I've always worn nighties. Quite sexy shortish, cross over back, silky ones. If I had to get up to teenage kids in the night I'm not exposing myself to them. DH wears fresh boxers.

JaneGlorianaVillanueva · 12/06/2019 20:41

Naked or just knickers.

For me pyjamas are just for lounging around the house in. I'd only wear them in bed if I was really cold.

maimainomai · 12/06/2019 21:39

Night clothes. "Complete" pjs, socks and a beanie in winter. And a night skirt or a loose skirt in summer.

I do however sleep naked if it's really hot...

maimainomai · 12/06/2019 21:41

*shirt.

Not skirt.

Also useful because I can put a little (plant based) big repellant on the night skirt. instead of needing to put it on my skin.

francienolan · 12/06/2019 22:26

I sleep in pajamas but in extremely light ones. I have one flannel pair of matching pajamas that I only wear when it's really cold out, otherwise I wear a vest top and little shorts or similar.

cavalier · 12/06/2019 22:39

Have to wear something ... unless very very hot summer ...

userxx · 12/06/2019 22:42

Naked, it's the best nights sleep ever.

givemesteel · 12/06/2019 23:00

See, I have done both. Pre kids naked.

Post pregnancies and kids, habit of Pyjamas. I think with all the postpartum erm fluids, and leaking breasts with breastfeeding Pyjamas became more comfortable, plus all the getting up for kids felt a bit weird naked.

So got used to pyjamas. Dh still sleeps naked and think would prefer it if I did but I just don't find it comfortable any more.

TheRedBarrows · 12/06/2019 23:08

Naked, even when camping.

Can’t stand the wrangling and tangling of any clothes in bed.

And I hate the expression ‘PJs’ for pyjamas.

PookieDo · 12/06/2019 23:10

Can’t sleep naked. Topless yes but not bottoms

I usually am very clothed
