Thought that Kirk Douglas had died many years ago until I read an article about him being 102 years old.

Every time I watch something with Christopher Lee in it there is always the sudden realisation that he is no longer alive.

Was only thinking of Cheggers plays pop and the multi coloured swap shop the other day when I was asked if I could remember the phone number for it.

Kirsty McColl! I heard a song of hers on radio earlier then they announced she would have been 60 this year and I completely forgot she had died!

Warren Mitchell, a few years ago. I find it very sad even thought he was well into his 80s when he died - not sure why, I just always thought he seemed very avuncular.

Alan Rickman for me - it's heartbreaking that he's no longer here. Ditto Freddie Mercury. Can't forgive him for being stupid enough to get AIDS. I stopped listening to music, apart from classical, after he died.

I would quite like to see a thread on those who are alive but you wish were dead but don't see that lasting longer than five seconds

It's pure bad luck that Freddie died though Silvery I can think of a few musicians - 3 in particular, big stars in the 80s- from that era that are living with HIV seemingly fine. If the relevant drugs were around then, he'd probably still be alive

A lot of these still make me sad when I think of it - Terry Pratchett, Victoria Wood, Linda Smith in particular - but the only one where I'm aware of having that "oh hell, I'd forgotten they died" shock of realisation is Jeremy Hardy.

Just the other day I was aimlessly googling and saw Emma Chambers and realised I’d forgotten she’d died.

Saw someone wrote Clive Swift and thought for a second he was someone else from Casualty that I realised I’d forgotten about too... then worked out I was thinking about Simon MacCorkindale.
