To be at my wits end over people parking over my drive

I live In London near two railway stations, shops, schools etc you get the jist. I have had cars parking on my drive 3/4 times a week for the last couple of months. The council are good but frequently take too long to come. Is there anything I can do to stop this.

A gate I'm afraid.

Walkamileinmyshoesbeforeujudge · 09/06/2019 16:42

Invoice??

Deafdonkey · 09/06/2019 16:43

Block them in? Some knob parked his Mercedes on my drive, thankfully had just come back from work so was in a beaten up old 4x4 so blocked him in and then went out.

bridgetreilly · 09/06/2019 16:43

Traffic cones?

NoSquirrels · 09/06/2019 16:44

Antisocial behaviour is probably your best bet, TBH...

Are you in a CPZ? Can you lobby with your neighbours to get one?

BuildBuildings · 09/06/2019 16:45

One of those lockable bollards, a gate or a chain locked to a post at each side of the entrance? What do the council do when they come? Also I'm quite shocked anyone would do this. Have you confronted anyone? What do they say?

Sycamoretrees · 09/06/2019 16:46

Penguin bollards?

CherieBabySpliffUp · 09/06/2019 16:48

On your drive or over your drive?
If on your drive can you clamp as they are on private property?

Debbiediva · 09/06/2019 16:48

No its parking over the drive on the street, which prevents me leaving my house by vehicle.

Is it clear it's your drive? Try putting a sign up. Maybe fit a parking meter and make some money 😉

Seriously though this would really grip my shit. Lockable bollard would be worth a go.

Queenoftheashes · 09/06/2019 16:49

Write rude stuff on windscreens in lipstick

Lazypuppy · 09/06/2019 16:49

Is it definitely a drive with a dropped kurb?

TrixieFranklin · 09/06/2019 16:50

Can your council paint H bars?

jackstini · 09/06/2019 16:50

Can you park over your drive to prevent it? (A pain I know)

Bollard in the middle of the kerb that you can drop down?

Pipandmum · 09/06/2019 16:53

A sign would be best. Do you leave a note on the windscreen? It seems bizarre for them to park there if your car is still in the drive!

DizzySue · 09/06/2019 16:55

Perhaps get one if these signs?

A friend of ours whose an emergency midwife recently had the same problem (she had begged, pleaded with the driver of a neighbour a few doors down, left notes, reported to the police and council but nothing) she couldn't understand why as there was so many other spaces he could park but would always park across her drive at random times so she got her brother to park onto her drive in his clapped out banged up old banger he didn't give a monkeys as it was going for scrap! We think because they saw the state of her brothers car he wouldn't think twice of scraping the BMW to get passed it...The brand new BMW was never seen again! Grin

Mrsjayy · 09/06/2019 16:59

Cheeky buggers actually going on your drive can you get a chain thing to go over the entrance .

WelshMoth · 09/06/2019 17:03

I'd invest in a clamp and inconvenience them as much as possible until they got the message.

ittakes2 · 09/06/2019 17:03

A sign saying parking is £100 enquire within.

crazyasafox · 09/06/2019 17:04

Can you post a pic?

NicoAndTheNiners · 09/06/2019 17:05

Will the council put a "H bar" over your drive? They did for me and it made a massive difference.

Debbiediva · 09/06/2019 17:07

I share the drive with 3 neighbour's so cannot park over it. Its the dropped kerb.

Can you get yellow lines painted on? Then make friends with the local traffic wardens, take photos and send them on.

ittakes2 · 09/06/2019 17:15

Put up a sign saying illegal parking with receive a ticket. They don't have to know you won't be able to issue one.
