Been chatting to some friends about this and we came up with ones from Fatal Attraction (sink scene), Brokeback Mountain, GoT (all of them Smile) and Pretty Little Liars amongst others. What was interesting was how some favourites did nothing for others. And some were unanimously agreed to be hot as hell.

Which ones do it for you?

For sex: Orla Brady and David Morrissey in Pure Wickedness.

For the most heartbreaking scene of love ever, as described above: Remains of the Day.

iMombie · 11/06/2019 00:08

Angelina Jolie and Elizabeth Mitchell in Gia, the scene with the wire fence is pretty hot.

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 11/06/2019 01:13

Another one for Top Gun.

CSIblonde · 11/06/2019 03:09

The original Dirty Dancing sex scene which was cut for being too full on. Its on You Tube.

sashh · 11/06/2019 04:41

How can they NOT sometimes?

I think having at least half a dozen people sitting / standing around watching. Stopping to change camera angle or move hair or to have someone spray artificial sweat on you could impede the mood.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 11/06/2019 07:31

For love not sex, that scene in Bridges of Madison County where she is on the car with her husband and he is behind her on the road and she reaches for the door handle but stops herself from getting out and going to him because she knows it will hurt her family. Every time I've watched it I want her to get out of that car!

Earthakitty · 11/06/2019 07:45

Graphic sex scenes on TV are disgusting and voyeuristic .
I feel like throwing a bucket of water over them.
It is the suggestion of sex that is the most erotic....all left to the imagination and not watching a couple like a couple of dogs on heat.
Mary Whitehouse was right.

winniestone37 · 11/06/2019 07:53

Yup to Brokeback mountain, blew me away. Also most moving love story ever.

MorrisZapp · 11/06/2019 07:59

Should I bother watching Monsters Ball? Might catch it on streaming if I can.

My faves are in Ripper Street. Nothing explicit, but fuelled by the lust of prime Victorian manhood. Captain Jackson can get it :)

For sex: Orla Brady and David Morrissey in Pure Wickedness

I remember that. I remember sex starting with very thorough REAL breast gropes and I felt so sorry for Orla Brady having to do that. The fact that many (probably most) actors in these situations must hate what they’re doing makes all these sex scenes a complete turn off to me.

It is far more tantalising to conceal than to reveal.

Shockers · 11/06/2019 09:03

One scene that had a profound effect on me was the where Shug kisses Celie in The Colour Purple. For me, the gentleness and the awakening of desire was very powerful, even though I’m not gay.

beingmum39 · 11/06/2019 11:04

The one with Jane March was the lover

ralfeesmum · 11/06/2019 11:50

"Gone With The Wind" easily.......when Rhett carries Scarlett up that grand staircase.

Oooooh!

fedup21 · 11/06/2019 19:20

@sashh who is that in the video you posted?

Moralitym1n1 · 11/06/2019 21:21

I think one of the most erotic scenes in a movie is in cool hand luke when the prisoners are working on the road in the sweltering heat and the woman is washing her car, all soapy boobed

Struck me as being like a bad porno.

Moralitym1n1 · 11/06/2019 21:27

@Withington

You're a genius, forgot that one!

Moralitym1n1 · 11/06/2019 21:29

@littleyellowwellies

Grin.

Was actually surprised Nick/that actor had that in him; I've never found him particularly attractive/sexy.

Alleycat1 · 11/06/2019 22:58

Not sex but for portraying desire and the moment of falling in love it is hard to beat the dance scene with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock in The Lake House.
Sexy, yes Don't Look Now, Unfaithful.

TwinklyMummaLuvsHerBubba89 · 11/06/2019 23:07

I can't believe no one has mentioned Christian Slaters deflowering in 'The Name of the Rose', he's a novice monk ravished by the kitchen maid

I'd forgotten all about that. I was 14 when I first watched it.

My video tape my have been rewound and played a few times....!

SummersB · 12/06/2019 05:59

Fleabag - KNEEL! oh my lord!!!

JustHopeless · 12/06/2019 07:33

Normally, I don't find Tom Cruise attractive at all, but the scene in Last Samurai, where the widow of the man he killed at the start dresses him in her husband's armour for battle is so hot.

It's not an overtly raunchy scene, but it's very tender and full of pent up yearning. There's something quite erotic about her dressing him.

Any Spike and Buffy action, I particularly love their scenes when they fight and flirt, Fool for Love was a particular highlight.

Tom Hardy and Jessica Chastain in Lawless - firstly Tom Hardy in a cardigan is indescribably hot, but it's the way she takes the lead, and literally leads him.by the hand to her bedroom

Fibbke · 12/06/2019 07:39

Deffo Atonement and The Big Easy

Also Tom Cruise and Rebecca De Mornay on the train in Risky Business

Fibbke · 12/06/2019 07:40

Ooh and Dominic West and the actress in The Affair first series

ShagMeRiggins · 12/06/2019 07:59

fedup the video sassh posted was of Patrick Wilson and Brooklyn Decker in a film called Stretch.

crumpet · 12/06/2019 08:15

I think the reason outlander is getting so many mentions is that the emotional connection between the characters is so strong, which adds another layer.
