Mine are -

Starting to drive off, then putting your seat belt on whilst trying to control the car at the same time. Why? It can't save more than a second, looks awkward, and is dangerous!

Putting bananas into a little plastic bag before putting them in the trolley - the only reason I can see for the plastic bags is to keep loose veg together, or to keep edible parts clean, neither of which applies to bananas, so what's the point?

Taking shopping trollies back to the trolley park but not actually connecting them up with the ones already there - you've done about 95% of the effort, is it really that hard to make someone else's life a bit easier by putting it away properly?

( Yes, mine do seem to be mostly supermarket related but I suppose that's where I come across other people most of the time!)

Actually, I do have one non-supermarket one - people only using one half of a set of double doors when there is a queue of people all wanting to go through - they all line up patiently to go through the one door rather than just OPENING THE OTHER ONE!!

Spitting on the ground is nasty.

Kids pissing and 💩 in public ( road, potty etc is also nasty.

longearedbat · 12/06/2019 11:06

People who abandon trolleys - if I did that I would lose my pound coin. I haven't come across a supermarket for ages that doesn't have this system.

LoafofSellotape · 12/06/2019 11:43

Where I live Tesco and Waitrose don't have coin trolleys.

GabsAlot · 12/06/2019 11:46

Only one supermarket near me has the coin trolleys and even they get stranded sometimes

speakout · 12/06/2019 11:46

None of the supermarkets near me have coin trollies either, ASDA and Tesco.

speakout · 12/06/2019 11:47

I can think of 3 ASDA stores and 5 Tesco stores in my city- none have coin trollies.

longearedbat · 12/06/2019 12:30

Oh gosh, I thought it was pretty universal. Perhaps we have terrible trolley thieves in this area! The supermarkets are all out of town though, some of them quite rural, whether this makes a difference. You live and learn.

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 12/06/2019 13:14

Our Tesco used to be coinless trolleys but they went back to the coin ones. Clearly we can't be trusted in Bradford Grin

Asthenia · 12/06/2019 14:17

Most people seem to keep chocolate/ketchup in the fridge - we always keep ours in the cupboard. Why would you want a big blob of icy ketchup on your plate?! Or cold, tasteless chocolate?! So strange.

LoafofSellotape · 12/06/2019 14:21

Cold chocolate is lovely!

ooooohbetty · 12/06/2019 14:52

All of the supermarkets near me have coin trolleys. One even has trolleys that won't move if you wheel it a certain distance from the building. I'm not actually sure how that works, it seems like magic.

CoffeeRunner · 12/06/2019 15:02

Only Aldi, Lidl and Iceland have coin trolleys here. Morrisons used to but they changed them when the shape of the £ coin changed.

fairweathercyclist · 12/06/2019 15:21

Just come back to this thread to say I drove past a petrol station this morning which had a sign up saying "extra long hoses" and an illustration indicating the hoses would stretch both sides of the pump. But the fact that they said "extra-long" kind of makes the point that most of the time they aren't "extra" long.

(this was a BP garage in Aldershot for anyone local who might want to use either side of the pump)

Sayyestothecake · 12/06/2019 17:41

I’ve also seen the extra long hoses signs but in actual fact the hoses are just the same length but they just put them up to encourage people to use both sides because there’s always people foolish enough to queue up for the one side.

redspider1 · 12/06/2019 18:26

I used to put the trolley away with one arm and hold baby in the other.

TheDarkPassenger · 12/06/2019 19:29

you wouldn't buy a pack of 20 cranberry Benson and hedges?!

I soooooooo would

poopypants · 13/06/2019 07:44

Cold chocolate is the best! It melts in the mouth slower so longer to savour!

poopypants · 13/06/2019 07:48

Dizzynic101 it's not all about you. Behave properly and don't leave detritus where it could damage other people just because you can't be arsed. Carry the baby, out the car seat I. The trolley, park near the trolley bay. Figure it out but don't leave trolleys lying about. They are dangerous.

Littlemisslists · 13/06/2019 07:52

Pfb much dizzy. Surely you can park next to trolley bay or unpack shopping in car, push trolley to bay with baby in it then carry baby back to car

FionasWineShow · 13/06/2019 08:05

Quicker and better for skin though.

Nonetheless. It still qualifies as something 'other people do, that I just don't get'.

Have never strip washed in my life, and will only be tempted to do it if I'm bedridden and there's literally no other option.

poopypants · 13/06/2019 08:53

*put the car seat in the trolley

NewAccount270219 · 13/06/2019 09:12

Yes, if you look nearly all petrol stations/pumps say 'extra long hoses' somewhere, and even those that don't have the same hoses. It's because almost no one actually fills from either side, despite it being pretty easy.

PrincessButtockUp · 13/06/2019 09:32

Men (because it's not usually women amirite?!) who urinate in the stairwells of car parks. The smell is revolting, the behaviour is revolting.

Reverse parking makes much more sense than driving in to a space. The wheels that turn are then on the outside of the arc the car is turning through, giving you much more movement and control. But yes, it can then mean you can't get to the boot. I was pleased to return to reverse parking when I no longer needed a buggy.

Graphista · 13/06/2019 09:51

Just thought of the perfect response to the thread:

I don't get posters who not only don't rtft but don't even read the ops posts but STILL think they should contribute an arrogant post giving bloody obvious advice that's already been discussed! Seriously at least read op's posts people!

Littlemisslists · 13/06/2019 17:51

I think it’s to idiot proof it for the people who can’t drive their car in properly newaccount
